If you were one of the tens of millions of people who watched Motokichi Yukimura whisk, fold, and toss eggs into a luxuriously fluffy omelette, you now have a chance to eat his famous dish when Kichi Kichi Omurice comes to Singapore next month.
The Kyoto restaurant has teamed up with Singapore dining chain, Tsukimi Hamburg to serve his viral omelette fried rice at their outlets from July 10, 2025.
Additionally, Yukimura will be at Tsukimi Hamburg Jurong Point on July 11 and 12 to demonstrate how he cooks omurice.

With his purplish-red hair, scarlet beret, and infectious energy, Yukimura has turned omurice into an internet icon. The Japanese chef claimed he took 50 years to perfect the dish and videos of him preparing it has racked up millions of views on YouTube.
Yukimura founded Kichi Kichi Omurice in 1978. The Kyoto restaurant has 14 seats and releases reservations only on the same day. According to Yukimura, slots usually sell out within a minute. Kichi Kichi also regularly holds pop-ups around the world, with recent stops in Jakarta and Sydney.
For Singapore, Kichi Kichi collaborated with Tsukimi Hamburg to have two omurice varieties on their menu permanently. The Kichi Kichi omurice (SGD 12.80 or RM 42++) features demi glace-seasoned fried rice topped with the signature Tornado omelette and finished with more demi glace. The Kichi Kichi hamburg omurice (SGD 16.80 or RM 55++) marries both concepts with the addition of a hamburg steak.
To celebrate the launch, Yukimura will be in town for a cooking demonstration on July 11 and 12 at Tsukimi Hamburg’s Jurong Point branch. There will be two sessions a day and each session is limited to 20 people. To participate, join as an &Rewards Member and spend at least SGD 20 (RM 66) in a single receipt at &JOY Japanese Food Street (either at Nex or Jurong Point) from June 3 to 30, 2025. Diners can increase their chance of winning with every SGD 20 (RM 66) spent in a single receipt.
