[Music] heat Heat N [Music] Hello my dearest friends Welcome to my new video for the week This week we’ll be visiting a hidden gem right in the heart of Auckland So this is Western Springs and it’s one of Auckland’s most scenic spots Western Springs is a thriving suburb located just 4 km west of Auckland central business area The area is known for its Maui heritage lush open spaces and diverse cultural and recreational activities [Music] The Western Springs Reserve also known as Taywire in Maui is located in the heart of the area and means the waters of [Music] eels The area’s name reflects its historical significance to Maui who treasured the wetlands for their clean spring water and abundance of longfin eels or in the streams The reserve has a spring-fed lake surrounded by walking routes bridges and boardwalks that meander among native flora including pireri and cabbage trees [Music] It’s a burers’s paradise with ducks geese puko and swans frequently [Music] observed Visitors are advised to enjoy the wildlife without feeding it in order to keep the ecology balanced [Music] So these are the eels I mentioned earlier There are plenty of eels [Music] here Heat Heat [Music] N [Music] Yeah down [Music] These black swans look stunning with their red beaks [Music] [Music] Yeah Heat Heat Heat [Music] N Heat [Music] Heat Heat Heat N [Music] There are a lot of eels here as well [Music] So that’s a koi [Music] carfish Koi carfish can be found in abundance in New Zealand’s aquatic bodies However these fish cause significant damage to the New Zealand ecology Thus the government has implemented many rules to exterminate them In New Zealand koi carp are an invasive species and keeping them alive is forbidden Recreational fishing is allowed However any koi cod must be killed Koi carp are toxic fish that can cause substantial harm to water ecosystems The Department of Conservation DOC seeks to limit their spread using a variety of management tactics including recreational fishing and bow hunting events such as the Koi Carp Classic [Music] One can view several swans ducks and other beautiful birds [Music] here Yeah [Music] Yeah Yeah [Music] Yeah Hey Hey [Music] This board informs us about the various birds that can be seen at the Western Springs lakeside [Music] Yeah Yeah [Music] Oh yeah [Music] The small ones are brown in [Music] hue As they grow in size their hues change to black similar to the larger ones you find there [Music] around [Music] Heat Heat [Music] Western Springs had an important influence in Auckland’s growth between 1877 to 1906 The natural springs in the area were the principal source of water for the city This system relied heavily on the Western Springs pumping station which was built in the late 1800s Today the reconstructed pumping station is housed in the Museum of Transport and Technology MOTAC serving as a reminder of the city’s engineering past [Music] Heat Heat Heat Heat N [Music] Hello Hey Hey [Music] Western Springs residential sector grew predominantly during the midentth century with the majority of residences built between 1950 and 1959 The area has a variety of housing alternatives and is noted for its community oriented ambiencece Whether you want to explore natural landscapes learn about Auckland’s history or attend cultural events Western Springs provides a unique blend of experiences that reflect both its rich tradition and modern charm [Music] Yeah [Music] Yeah Hello Western Springs is bordered by numerous outstanding attractions Auckland Zoo home to a wide variety of species and committed to conservation activities The Museum of Transport and Technology MOTAD showcases New Zealand’s transportation and technology heritage through historic vehicles and interactive exhibitions Western Springs Stadium hosts big concerts and athletic events adding to the area’s bustling [Music] environment Fukuoka Garden a tranquil Japanese garden provided by Auckland sister city Fukuoka with traditional landscaping and a diverse range of plant species [Music] Yeah Heat Heat Heat [Music] N [Music] Yeah yeah yeah [Music] Oh [Music] yeah Oh [Music] What a lovely sight Now a gorgeous rainbow has appeared specifically for the purpose of being captured in my [Music] videos Heat Heat [Music] Heat Heat [Music] So this is a children’s play [Music] area Heat Heat N [Music] My son is having fun in this round swing with other kids We plan to return after my son has played for a while [Music] So my friends I hope you like this video If you want to see more of these kind of videos in the future please subscribe to my channel and like the videos since this will help its growth It will also notify you when I upload new videos in the future So I wish you all a nice day Remain cheerful and keep smiling Thank you
