Uji Bridge – this is one of the three oldest bridges in all Japan. It is believed to have been constructed for the first time in 646, more than 1300 years ago.
The current version is modern, but the bridge has been rebuilt many times over the centuries.
This bridge has always been familiar with people as a symbol of Uji, as a place of scenic beauty. Uji Bridge is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing, autumn foliage, and scenic river walks.
The nearby Uji Tea shops offer some of Japanβs best green tea, especially matcha.
