Scenes from Nagasaki, Japan 2025

Scenes from Nagasaki 🇯🇵
Our journey began at the Atomic Bomb Museum—an unflinching and powerful look at the tragedy of August 9, 1945. From there, we moved to Peace Park, where monuments, fountains, and quiet spaces offer a message of hope and remembrance.

We continued to Glover House & Garden, exploring tiered landscapes and 19th-century Western-style buildings overlooking the harbor. Once home to Scottish merchant Thomas Glover, this hillside estate reflects Nagasaki’s unique role as a gateway between Japan and the West during the Meiji Restoration.

Later, we ascended Mount Inasa by ropeway and took in sweeping daytime views of the city and bay below. Along the way, we traveled by tram through historic streets and enjoyed local favorites—fresh sushi, savory champon noodles, and traditional Japanese sweets. Nagasaki is a city of memory, beauty, and quiet strength.
