Fukuoka Food Tour 2025 π | What to Eat in Japan + Must-Try Ramen!
[Music] We’re going to head out of the airport and go to dinner since it’s only 7:00 p.m. My brother is taking us to this place that sells tomato ramen. Sansan. Sans Sun. Oh, it’s three 33. So, their specialty is tomato ramen. So, if you are here, make sure you stop by and grab some because I don’t know where else you can get tomato [Music] ramen. We finally got to sit down after the long flight and relax. We even had a beer and just chatted about the plans we had. We are at our first meal here in Japan. We are having tomato ramen. and your brother was the one to recommend this place. The atmosphere is so cozy and the ramen is so savory. It was perfect for a chilly day. If it’s good boy, we didn’t want our first night to end early. So, we decided to walk around a little bit and check out the area. We found a lovely little pub called Fukuoka Craft Beer and decided to try their different brews. I guess this is going to be sweeter peach. I mean, it really does taste like peach. You should try it, babe. That’s fire. Oh, that’s good. Yeah, it’s chill. Instead of getting craft beer, we got a lemon sour. I mean, we did try the craft beer. We did. We did. We have We tried a bunch of different ones, but we wanted to try one of their popular drinks. This was actually my first lemon sour. the first of many. So, we capped off the night at Fuka Fuka. Fukuoka Craft and they had some really good beers. The lemon sour that they had was phenomenal. Okay, I recommend that. Enjoy that one. Definitely recommend that. So, for now, we’re just going to go to Alawson, which is a convenience store here, and then go to bed. Yeah. So, that’s the cap off of day one of the food adventure we’re having here in Fukoka, Japan. Yes. Okay, so we are here at Joyful Restaurant. We’re going to have a quick breakfast before we go out on our tours today. We’re with the entire group. And so this is a family restaurant. So if you watch anime, family restaurants, uh they’re very commonly like used as like part-time job places for students and stuff. And they actually have a collaboration with an anime. The anime is Monster Strike. So you can see the stickers on there. So we’re going to go eat now. All right, let’s go. We got here super early, but luckily it’s a 24/7 restaurant. We ate here for breakfast almost every day because the food is good, the price is good, and the location was central for all of [Music] us. So, for lunch today, we are finally having sushi. Make it sound like we’ve been in Japan forever. It’s our It’s our like first full day here. So in revolving sushi places you get the either the plates or you can order here and then they come to you through this. So they have a usually special daily special. So usually this is the freshest catch of the day. So it’s 143 yen which is less than 100 pesos. You flip it to the side like this and then you get it to hold it like this. You only can make it touch the fish, not the rice. So this is fatty tuna. I’m excited to try that one. Wow. It really looks different from regular tuna. I really like tuna. All right, this is the one a poncho recommended. So, we’re going to try salmon. I never thought tuna was going to be above salmon. I am a massive sushi lover and so I was most excited for this meal. I was eating like my life depended on it. And I got to try some new ones, some old classics, and even some more adventurous ones that I don’t really want to get into. Beans. So, this is Miyuki’s favorite girlfriend. Okay. Then you have it in one bite. So, it’s usually with rice and then natto and egg yolk. Try it. Let’s try it. I’m not that’s not meant to insult anybody. Look at your face. You have to eat it. I forget about how I reacted. You got this. Swallow. Swallow. Swallow. I wasn’t doing that to be insulting either. I really did try. What got me was the egg. the egg yolk is what got me cuz I don’t like jello or anything gelatin. And so the egg yolk the texture I couldn’t again me I am very sorry. I really did try to eat it. I’m sorry to all of Japan. I I loved everything else. I swear I loved everything else. Okay. It was the texture. I couldn’t do it. I’m so sorry. There was a mountain of plates when we finished. But we were all very satisfied with the food and it kept us going throughout the day. So, we’re done eating, but they aren’t yet. They’re still getting more food. We’re just getting started, you know. We’re getting started. They’re getting started. I aspire to be exactly like you guys. And for dessert, we’re having a melon. Premium. Premium. Yeah, that’s super juicy. It’s good. It’s like it bursts in your mouth. Good juice. It feels like it just bursts in your mouth with all the flavor. How is your sushi? 10 out of 10. Sushi rating. My sandwich already 10 out of 10. What was your sushi rating? Also, nine out of 10 because the hamachi sold out. Ah, if you had it, it would have been 10 out of 10. I’m going to give it a nine just because I’m not a fan of natto. So, that was an interesting That was interesting. But everything else was really, really good. After a long, long day of shopping, here we are once again near our hotel and we’re going to have dinner over here in I will figure out what that name is. Oh, it’s called Shibuna. Shibuna. Yakon Yakori and cold me. Really excited. We’re super hungry. It’s been super tiring. So, let’s enjoy. The best way to end the day was with some classic yaki tori. I lost count of how many sticks I had, but it was so worth it. It’s a yakitori place and we just ate our fill. It was super good. We had beer. We had over 50 sticks. It was super good. That was our last meal for tonight. We’re capping it off by going to the big camera to check out some of the stuff. But we are energized and ready for the rest of the night. Right across from the restaurant we were just at, they have a cat cafe. I know. And then uh I’m going to go here at some point. At our next stop, we are in a ramen factory. Ian Ramen. This is like a bamboo forest. Are you hungry? And they have music playing as you walk. So peaceful. But yes, I am very hungry. Yeah. Fun fact about ramen is you can really customize how you want it. So, you know, you can choose the broth, you can choose how much garlic it has, how spicy it is. including the hardness of the noodles. I honestly prefer hard noodles. You I like ramen. I don’t know. I eat instant ramen. Okay, I’m the last person to ask about how I like my ramen. Cooked. That’s good enough. Before we go in, look at this view. It’s crazy nice. Nature is amazing. We’re really in the middle of a forest. Okay. I really thought the automation was super cool. We decided to look around for a little bit. Then after we ordered, we went inside to get served. So even though we did the orders outside, there’s also a preference list. So they will make the ramen exactly how you want it. Different options. The only thing I memorized. Say it again. Tamago Prefecture. So some of the highest level of production in Japan. So this was a delicious experience. The ramen was so good and the servings were so large. Make sure to bring your appetite if you’re going to visit. A meta um meta um putashi to tomato. What is it? Tomato. Tomago. Tomago. We even took a quick tour of the factory to learn about how they make and process the ramen. It was so interesting. They make so much ramen every day. It was so soft, so tender, and so flavorful. First, we were in a ramen factory, and now we are at a sake factory. Yes. If you don’t know what sake is, it is a rice wine. They use rice and ferment it and it becomes alcohol. So, we’re going to be taste testing some now. And I’m not worried at all because some of these guys can drink really heavily. They have been. So, I know we are with a good group that can handle it. Old sake delivery system. So, you come here to the sake brewery, you bring this and they fill it up for you. Then you take it back home and that’s your sake for a week or 2 weeks until you have to come back again. Our guide was so knowledgeable and had amazing recommendations. We were very obviously excited for this taste testing. And this is my favorite. This is the creme de creme. We always drink this one last. And that is the um da gel. The the grain has been dissolved to 50% of its uh exact size. So we call that the polishing rate of 50%. So, it’s interesting because this sake brewery is actually quite small and they only kind of service fukoka and like a bit of the surrounding area. So, what we’re getting is actually pretty rare and you can’t get it in Tokyo, I don’t think. [Music] Luckily, we got to taste test both the sake and the liquor that they brew. Honestly, it’s kind of incredible to see a familyrun brewery make so many different kinds of alcohol. Wow, that’s gonna be dangerous. I can taste it a little bit, but it’s like nothing. Yeah, it’s good. See what’s next. That’s dangerous. It tastes like a freezy that’s been melted. We learned that the family who runs the brewery actually lives there, too. And their family dog is the one on the New Year’s bottle. Come by. That was the dry version of the Junai Gim. So, the next one is going to be the sweeter version. All right. I’m interested in this one cuz the packaging is cute. And this one here is like a special brew. Every year they change it a fraction. You have to come back here every year. That’s a lot. All right. So, this is the blue one. The best one. That I like that thinking. You know, one is two is better. It’s like it’s smooth when it goes in and there’s an after. If you want to get the blue one, which is the one we just had, 3,100 yen, which a little over 1,000 pesos. All right. So, this is the leftover, I guess, from the fermenting process. And so they actually sell it so you could add it to your hot pots to be more flavorful or you can put it on your face because it has a lot of benefits. So I’m gonna get it and put it on my face as one does. Maybe I will become more flavorful. We shall see. I’ll be the judge of that. What did he say? So this is what I ended up getting. I also have the face mask or pot extra and instructions which I can Google translate after. Success. I made my purchases. I caved. I got sake. I probably won’t drink it, but at least if I do drink it, the bottle is super cute. And they change the bottle every year. So, I guess next year we’re going to have to come back and get a new one. So, this is Park. This park is actually a historical site built in the mido period. And we got to have matcha overlooking the pond. Ooh, we have to take our shoes off. We got fish food so we can feed the koi. My feets are cold. Look at the tatami. We have fish food. So, we are going to feed some koi. Two ducks. Oh, there’s two. A male and a female. A. The name is based off a poem. A retreat built to accompany the gushing spring water does not know unbearable heat. And because we were there in March, it was most definitely chilly, but still enjoyable nonetheless. They have treats that are sweet to counteract the bitterness of the matcha itself. But I love matcha. I love bitter. I believe this is basically pure sugar. And this one’s a small cookie. And look, there’s a cute origami. That’s good. Yeah, you don’t need the sugar. Especially if you if you drink coffee bitter, if you like bitter foods, this is this is nothing. This is super simple. But you can taste the matcha. It’s super nice. We got to enjoy matcha and a small little cake overlooking the koi pond. This was so serene and calming. So, we just had our tea in there in the house that overlooks the pond. The lake. The pond. The pond. And the view is just so beautiful. Wow. You can walk all the way down. But the koi are so big. Look, they’re gathering here cuz they think I’ll feed them. My favorite part was feeding the koi, of course. [Music] So, this park closes at 5. So, luckily we were able to get like half an hour in before they close. And like the sun is setting right now, and it makes this place glow. It’s super [Music] pretty. Make sure you go to Park. That’s it for the day. [Music] NPC. You don’t [Β __Β ] with it. We have an NPC leading the way. You’re the NPC.
