Walking on a slice of history! The #Nakasendo served as an important route between #Kyoto & #Tokyo during the Edo Period, while the post-towns catered to weary travellers (like lords & samurais!). For us, it was a much needed respite from the hustle & bustle of Japan’s amazing but rather hectic mega-cities.💚

Picturesque views aside, the charming & beautifully restored/preserved post-towns of Magome & Tsumago offered historical sites, restaurants & shops that made our walk even more enjoyable.😊
