Longtime Japan B. League import Ray Parks Jr. becomes the second Filipino Asian Quota import to capture the Impressive Asia Player of the Year award
MANILA, Philippines – For the second year in a row, a Filipino import is the recipient of the Japan B. League’s Impressive Asia Player of the Year award.
After making waves for the Osaka Evessa in the 2024-2025 B. League season, Ray Parks Jr. was hailed the Impressive Asia Player of the Year, becoming the second Filipino Asian Quota import to achieve the feat.
Last year, Thirdy Ravena became the first-ever awardee of the Impressive Asia Player of the Year, which the league established to recognize the Asian Quota import who has achieved “outstanding” performances during the regular season.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to win this award, the B. League is such a prestigious league and it’s highly competitive, so to be able to win this award and be recognized for the sacrifices and efforts, it means a lot to me, my family, and the whole Filipino community,” Parks told reporters.

Playing all 60 regular season games, Parks averaged career-highs of 13.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists for Osaka, which came up short of reaching the playoffs with a 29-31 record.
The 2024-2025 B. League season marked Park’s fourth season in Japan after previously playing for the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins in his first three years in the league.
Parks was one of eight Filipino imports to see action in the B. League in the 2024-2025 season, along with Dwight Ramos, Kai Sotto, Kiefer Ravena, Matthew Wright, AJ Edu, Geo Chiu, and Roosevelt Adams. –Rappler.com
