Just as I said, I recently got a 2022 Mazda straight from Japan, and that was the thing I found in the trunk. Brand new 2” chrome badge sealed in a small bag. I’m not sure what this means or why the previous owner didn’t stick it to the car. I did my research with ChatGPT and Google Lens, and that didn’t help. If you have any ideas to share what it could mean I would be so grateful for your input.

Rotate 180. Does it look like a flag? Maybe the previous owner was patriotic as f but shy.
Poop
Looks like a minimalist American flag.
Looks like a checkered flag for finishing a race
Reminds me of those old school air fresheners
Maybe try and track down the previous owner, could be something important to them, or not, you never know…
why yall downvoting the us flag stuff it lowk does look like one
Curious what country you’re in where you can bring in a 2022
I legitimately think people are getting mad because it’s an American flag but the car came from Japan. So in their mind there would be no reason for an American flag to be there and instead take it as a self centered insult against JDM that everything is about the US, like r/USdefaultism.
But I am hardwired to see things from a graphic design standpoint and am just being 100% honest and unbiased that that is indeed without a doubt supposed to represent an American flag.
I truly don’t fuck a flying fuck about Reddit so please everyone also downvote this like crazy if it helps you have a better weekend lol
Are the holes for the blue gems all the way through as though light could pass through? Can we see the other side and thickness?
Given the pattern and the material, it could be either an optical calibration board or a metal sprayout plate to test automotive paints.
What I find disconcerting is that it looks like it has encrusted black… jewels?
Don’t know why the downvotes. But it really does look like an American flag. I can’t see any other image but it looks like a very basic flag.
Maybe a lense focus calibration chart?
Could it be a camera calibration target?

I flattened the image and did a Google image search – nothing definitive came back. The flag most mentioned was Finnish, not USA.
Not saying it isn’t USA, but if you were making a stylized USA flag, wouldn’t you limit the “stars” to the top right corner and do the “stripes” in red gems, not blue?
