A fire broke out in a welding cable in the reactor building of the Tokai No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan Atomic Power Company said on May 30. The organisation said no leakage of radioactive material and no injuries had resulted from the incident. The plant, they added as reported by Kyodo News, was currently out of operation, but the fire was a few meters away from the reactor containment vessel.
