FAMILY FUN in Nagoya: Ghibli Park & Nabana no Sato | NAGOYA TRAVEL VLOG

I’m taking the Haruka Express train going to the airport to meet my parents I arrived at the airport with a lot of time to wait but unfortunately my parents were still in the immigration area finally they’re out and we see each other again after a few months first agenda before going home is to have dinner here at the airport on November 3 it is Culture Day here in Kyoto and we decided to go to the flea market at Kokoka the weather is so nice perfect for doing flea marketing Kokoka is located near Heian Jingu which is a popular tourist spot Culture Day is a fun day because of the Open Day here at Kokoka where there’s a lot of people selling food and also because of the flea market the flea market is only open to foreigners so you have to show your ID or passport to enter my parents love going to this flea market because they can find lots of bargain and as for me I could get some nice Japanese clothes after a tiring day at the flea market we decided to have lunch near the house at Yayoi Ken our favorite teishoku restaurant here in Kyoto it’s the fourth day of my parents here in Kyoto usually when they come here they don’t do anything except clean the house so today we didn’t do anything except go out to have dinner here at this ramen place nearby I like that there are nice places to eat near the house so whenever I have my ramen craving I could just go out to that restaurant another day here in Kyoto we decided to have yakiniku for dinner because it’s Dai’s off day at work I make sure that Dai has enough time to interact with my parents while they’re still here despite his very busy schedule Hiro is our favourite yakiniku place because of the quality meats that they serve and at a very affordable price do you eat raw beef? Dai ordered the raw beef with egg called yukke yakiniku is not only a great dinner it’s also a great activity for people to interact while having very good meat hero is one of those restaurants in Kyoto where you can eat raw beef because it’s known to follow strict hygiene standards you can have three types of sauces here in my case I prefer the sweet sauce and also the sour lemon sauce we also love having cold noodles called reimen which is a type of Korean noodles we always order vegetables in this case shiitake mushrooms whenever we have yakiniku or yakitori and because the beef here is wagyu everything was so good and we had to order extra because it wasn’t enough for us at Hiro there are so many choices to choose from from different meats to different side dishes after a few days in Kyoto me and my parents went to Nagoya to attend my cousin’s wedding and join other family members who are coming from the Philippines the highway bus only takes two hours from Kyoto to Nagoya and stops at different stopovers this time at Suzuka which is known as a F1 racing track compared to other stopovers the Suzuka stopover has a lot of choices for food and also for souvenirs so it was a nice experience to stop by here you can also take pictures outside of racing cars as well as the nice view of the environment I’m not a racing fan but if you are a racing fan you should go to Suzuka to watch some of the races we decided to buy some snacks my parents got this fish cake on a stick after the short trip to Nagoya we decided to take a taxi going to our hotel near Sakae Station I particularly chose hotel my stay Sakae because it’s close to my gym Gold’s Gym so that I could still work out while in vacation with my family the area of the hotel is the red light district therefore there’s a lot of eateries as well as bars and it’s very very active at night probably not for people who want a chill quiet stay in Nagoya we decided to have lunch first at the Chinese restaurant in front of the hotel and then followed our family members to Ghibli Park Ghibli Park is about 1 hour away from Sakae station with several transfers but it’s not very inconvenient at all after a few transfers and nice views outside the train we arrived at the Ghibli Park Gibli Park is actually located in a bigger park called Aichi World Expo the place is so vast make sure you wear your walking shoes and we meet our family my sister is with my cousins and my aunt I’m so excited to go to the Ghibli Park because it’s my first time to go here and actually it’s quite difficult to get a reservation have you visited the park what did you think of it let me know in the comment section we reserved for the big warehouse at a particular time and when we arrive there’s already a long line upon entering the warehouse the receptionist will tell you the DOS and don’ts inside the warehouse make sure to follow the rules I’ve seen a lot of Ghibli films and I really like them so I’m so excited to be in this place it is highly suggest that you watch the Ghibli films before coming here because if you don’t you might not understand what is this and what is that I like seeing my parents having their pictures taken at the Big Cat bus they look so cute the attention to detail in this place is outstanding and I like the very high ceiling it gives you a sense of very very airy space and definitely there’s a lot of pictures for Instagram here the place is so big that you need to take some seat from time to time because it gets really exhausting at the end one of one of my favorite areas here actually is this stairs because of the tiles the tiles are so unique and I think they were made especially for the Ghibli Park I really like the tiles especially the different textures and colours and even different designs make sure to not skip the Red House because that’s where you get a lot of pictures like this with the characters of Ghibli in big 3D panels and if you go here make sure to forget your shyness at home because there’s a lot of people and you just have to forget that they’re there when you have your pictures taken The Ghibli Park was such a nice experience for the family it was fun and we took a lot of photos for memories but it was also very tiring and we got really hungry on the way back to the hotel we found Beard papa and you know Beard papa is my favorite so my sister and I just had to buy some the hotel seems to be popular with group tours and when we came back there’s a lot of people checking in at the hotel this time it’s a budget travel so we decided to have dinner at Matsuya the gyudon place near the hotel but I don’t mind since I love gyudon The Nagoya Tower looks so majestic at night with the reflection on the water we meet some of the cousins from my mother’s side here at this cafe it was already late but the staff were nice enough to allow us to stay and finish our dessert I think we ordered too much this time but the night’s still young and we still wanted to have a lot of chat with my cousins who live here in Nagoya so we decided to go to the park back at the hotel finally I can give you a room tour of my room the room is quite small and once you enter there is this full body mirror beside the door typical of a business hotel there are slippers provided as well as hangers for your clothes and deodorizer the bed is a semi double bed that I share with my sister so it’s quite narrow there’s an iron board as well as charging tables that the hotel provides for free there’s a small working desk and it’s quite small but enough for some work to be done the bed looks cozy enough and I like that the lights could be controlled from the side of your bed the toilet and bathroom is clean but I find it too narrow I love the amenities that they’re using DHC has one of the best hotel amenities even though it’s not a luxury brand aside from the basic toothbrush and toothpaste I love that they provide body towels it was a long but really fun day in Nagoya good night our room did not have breakfast so we decided to take breakfast at Matsuya nearby everybody had different plans so I decided to just walk around the area I decided to go to the Odori Park and just look around I found this place called EDW and they sell bread I just had to get some bread I decided to get the red bean paste croissant as well as the cream bread the weather was clear and the view of the tower was nice with the reflection on the water I decided to eat the bread while walking along the Audley Park the croissant with the red bean paste filling was so good crunchy outside but very soft and fluffy inside in contrast the cream bread was very soft and the cream was not very sweet my parents happened to be nearby so I decided to join them for lunch here at this Thai restaurant along the Odori Park I ordered the pad Thai while my dad ordered the kapow rice and my mom the chicken rice they’re quite expensive for the quality of the food nevertheless they were really tasty after lunch we decided to go to the gelato place called venchi for dessert Venchi is an upscale gelato place but they have lots of flavors to choose from the interior of the cafe was quite on the extravagant side but we really enjoyed the decorations on the walls which is nice for Instagram I forgot what my parents ordered but I ordered pistachio and vanilla gelato here is not cheap so I decide to savor every lick of the gelato dad took pictures of the chocolates and their prices because they’re quite expensive in general the gelato was good the cafe is a nice place to spend time with your friends but taste wise I prefer Haagen Dazs that cold night we went to Nabana no Sato Nabana no Sato is known for gardens filled with lights with music we didn’t know that it’s that cold and we weren’t prepared everybody was freezing the light display inside was really amazing but again we were freezing to the bone and we couldn’t enjoy it as much as we wanted to our tickets came with consumable 1,000 yen and we were looking for places to eat to use that coupon there’s a hot spring in this area and they have foot bath to use for free I assume nobody’s using it when we were there because it was just freezing the combination of the lights sounds and special effects added to the fantastical feel of the space we were checking different places to eat so that after we go around we use our coupons to have dinner there’s a lot of different food options in the area but it depends also on the budget as well as the type of food that they offer this lighted lake installation is my favourite installation in the Nabana no Sato budget and quality wise this is the place is my choice there is also an interesting ride here you can ride Mount Fuji which floats like a UFO and you can have a view of Nabana no Sato from up in the air the ride is not free but you can buy tickets inside for a fee my relatives took the Mount Fuji ride but me and my parents decided to just go walk ahead this part of the park was really warm but you have to pay extra to enter that room towards the end of the park we found this really nice restaurant but we haven’t finished going around so we decided to push ahead we reached the most popular part of the Nabana no Sato which is the tunnel of light despite knowing that all of these are just artificial LED lights it still felt so surreal upon exiting the tunnel of lights there is a Mount Fuji light up show at the end and the light music performance was worth the visit unfortunately it was really cold and I couldn’t tolerate it anymore so I was looking for a heater nearby I highly suggest to check the temperature and wear clothes accordingly temperatures in Nagoya and Nabana no Sato may be different so make sure to check before you leave Nagoya there are many different light and music performances in this area so make sure you have enough time to watch after the Mount Fuji light and sound performance there’s another tunnel which changes colour I like this more than the other light tunnel there’s an onsen facility in the park unfortunately it was too late and I didn’t have time to try it out we were cold and hungry and we had to use our coupons so we went back to the soba place and had dinner the food was so so and I think it was expensive for the quality my only regret when we visited Nabana no Sato was that I didn’t prepare warm clothes it’s definitely a fun place to visit and I want to go again はるかに乗ります。 親と空港で会いに行きます。 空港に到着し、待つ時間に余裕がありました。 しかし残念ながら、私の両親はまだ入国審査エリアにまだいました。 そして、フィリピンから来る他の家族と合流します。 京都市から名古屋まで高速バスで2時間で到着します。 途中、異なる停留所で下車します。 今回は、F1レーストラックとして知られる鈴鹿で。 他の停留所と比べたら 鈴鹿の停留所では、食べ物やお土産の選択肢が豊富です。 お土産も買えるので、ここで立ち寄るのが楽しかったです。 外にあるレースカーの写真を撮ることもできます。 環境の美しい景色も楽しめました。 私はレーシングファンではないですが、レーシングファンなら 鈴鹿でレース観戦を検討すべきです。 おやつを買うことにしました。 親はかまぼこを買いました。 名古屋までの短い旅の後 栄駅近くのホテルまでタクシーを乗りました 特に、ジムに近いホテルマイステイ栄を選びました。 ゴールドジム 家族と休暇中でも筋トレを続けられるように。 ホテルは赤灯地区にあります。 そのため、たくさんの飲食店やバーがあります。 松屋で夕食をとることにしました。 牛丼が好きなので気になりません。 水面に映る姿で名古屋タワーは夜、壮大に見えます。 ここで母方のいとこたちと会いました。 すでに遅かったが、スタッフは優しく入れてくれました。 多すぎる注文をしたと思う。 夜はまだ早いです。 いとこたちとまだたくさん話したいと思って 公園に行くことにしました。 ホテルの部屋を案内します。 部屋はかなり小さく、入ると ドアの横には全身鏡があります。 ビジネスホテルの典型です。 スリッパが用意されています。 また、衣類用のハンガーと消臭剤も用意されています。 ベッドは姉と二人でセミダブルベッドにしました。 アイロン台があります。 ホテルの提供する無料の充電テーブルもあります。 小さな仕事用デスクがありますが、狭いです。 でも、仕事をするには十分です。多分w ベッドは十分に快適そうに見えます。 近くの松屋で朝食をとることにしました。 みんなの予定は異なっていました。 私は周辺を散歩することにしました。 大通り公園に行き、散策することにしました。 EDWというところを見つけて、そこでパンを売ってた 絶対、パンを買わなきゃw 私は小倉クロワッサンを選びました。 クリームパンも。 天気は晴れでした。 タワーの景色が水面に映り込み、きれい〜 大通り公園を散歩しながら、食べました。 クロワッサンはとても美味しかった。 外はカリカリ、中はふわふわ。 クリームパンはとても柔らかく、クリームはあまり甘くなかった。 偶然、親が近くにいました。 昼食に一緒に行きました 大通り公園にあるのタイ料理屋さんです。 パッタイを注文しました。 父はカパオライス、母はチキンライスを注文しました。 個人意見：食事の質に見合わないほど高価です。 それでも、味は本当に美味しかった。 昼食後 デザートに、ジェラート店「VENCHI」に行くことにしました。 ベンチーは高級ジェラート店です。 たくさんの種類から選べます。 カフェの内装はかなり豪華でした。 しかし、壁の装飾は本当に楽しかったです。 インスタ映えします。 両親が何を注文したか忘れました。 私はピスタチオとバニラを注文しました。 ジェラートは高価なので、一口ごとに味わい尽くすことにしました 父はお土産用のチョコレートとその値段の写真を撮った。 高価だから。w ジェラートは美味しかったです。 友人と過ごすのに良い場所です。 味では、ハーゲンダッツの方が好きですw その寒い夜、私たちはナバナの里へ行きました。 ナバナノサトは、ライトで彩られた庭園で知られています。 寒すぎて、準備不足でした。 皆が凍えていた。 内側のライトディスプレイは本当に素晴らしかった。
