The first lineup and main visual for Kyoto Music Expo 2025, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12 at Umekoji Park in Kyoto, have been announced.

Known by its nickname “Onpaku,” Kyoto Music Expo is an outdoor music event held annually since 2007, organized by the Kyoto-born rock band Quruli. Quruli will perform on both days, alongside numerous artists from Japan and abroad.

Every year, the festival sets up a compost system in Umekoji Park as part of the “Resources Come Back Project,” turning leftover and unused food from the food area into compost. With the concept of “environment, culture, and music,” the event aims to contribute to regional revitalization.

The first batch of artists revealed includes ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, ASKA, Omoinotake, SHISHAMO, 10-FEET, Macaroni Enpitsu, RIP SLYME, and Quruli — eight acts in total. Details on the artist schedule and additional performers will be announced later.

Alongside the lineup announcement, the event’s main visual was also unveiled. Inspired by the giant salamander, a beloved creature at Kyoto Aquarium, the artwork was created by Kyoto-based painter Yuta Niwa using traditional Japanese painting techniques. The illustration features a playful and imaginative design.
