The Art of Exploring: Nagano, Japan in 10 Sketches! [🔴 LIVE ]
[Music] Okay. Not sure if we’re live on YouTube, but we’re live here. Oh, can I see Twitch chat? Oh, I can. I just can’t type a message, right? Hello. Let’s see. Oh, [ __ ] Hello. Testing. Testing. bounty. Who? Yo, okay, it’s kind of working. Lego Vimo. What the hell? I can’t tell if it’s working right now. Uh, let me know guys if it’s working. I think maybe it is. Uh, Alo Cara said, “All good, it seems. Loving the hair.” Oh, thanks. You guys see the hair? It’s different. Um, it’s working. Oh, sheesh. Can somebody check if it’s also working on YouTube, too? Um, that’d be amazing. That’d be amazing. Uh, I guess let’s get started. Let’s get started on today’s stream. It has been busy, guys. It has been busy out here, uh, in Japan. Uh, I don’t know if if I’m streaming on the IRL category. Hopefully I am. Uh, if I’m not, uh, it’s too bad. I guess you haven’t seen my stream in two, three weeks. I had no idea you dyed your hair. Oh, yeah. It’s It’s just hard to see on the stream. Um, cuz on the stream the lighting is different, but here it’s like natural light, so you can actually see my hair uh, and stuff. Uh, but yeah, let me let me tell you guys, we are halfway through the trip. uh being out here with 24 other crew members live. We’ve been doing workshops. We’ve been exploring. It has been surreal. This experience has been crazy. But at the same time, it has been exhausting. I I originally originally I planned to do a two-hour stream with you guys and we were going to explore a bit. Actually, no, I was planning on doing a threehour stream with you guys, but the scheduling is insane. I I don’t really get a break. Uh, basically I’m up at like 4:00 a.m. in the morning and from 4:00 a.m. I’m just moving. Well, really quick before we get started on our adventure and before we go out and explore the area of Nagono, Japan, I did want to shout out today’s sponsor because we do have a sponsor and they’re actually from Japan. Let me grab the goods out here. Bum bum bum. We got here some goods, baby. We got the goods. Check this out. Sakura Co. out here hooked us up with some snacks for Japan. And not only that, we got here another one, baby. Tokyo Treat. I’m going to let you guys vote in the chat which one we’re going to open up today. Uh, both are probably good options. But if you want Tokyo Treat, which is the orange one, type a one in the chat. And if you guys want the uh pink Sakuro one, type a two in the chat. We’ll see which one you guys want. And we’re going to open one of these today. So, shout out again to Sakuro Tokyo Treat for hooking us up with this one. Uh I believe the set for this is going to be the Kon Beini set, aka the convenience store set. So, we really cannot go wrong. Everybody is typing two, so they want this one, right? They want the uh Damn, everybody’s typing too. So, you guys just want this one. The soccer comb. All right, bet. Let’s do it. Okay, we have something new to open it with. My bear chief, but yes, appreciate you guys tuning in today. I know the schedule has been hectic. Um, I don’t know if it’s working on YouTube. I hope so. I hope it’s working on YouTube. And um, yeah, I don’t normally stream at this hour. This is crazy hour right now for the US. Uh, this is probably like actually, let me ask, what time is it for you guys right now? Because I know for a fact in um California, it’s got to be midnight. It’s got to be midnight. So, if you’re watching right now, appreciate it. Again, let me know if it’s laggy at all. Let me know if there’s any weird delays. I’ll do my best to try to fix it. Uh, I open I I pulled out the sticker, but it didn’t actually open the box. I think it just it literally just uh Oh, it did. Oh, [ __ ] It worked. Oh, yo, hello from Europe. It’s 10:00 a.m. Damn, Europeans Europeans are living right now. This is like, if you’re in Europe right now, you’re like, “Bro, this is the real time.” KM. Oh, but this this is the good stuff. Look at this. Okay, so we got a little bit of artwork out here. Uh this is from Aayumi Chikamoto and they said, “Dear Sakuro family, uh in Kyushu, the landscape seems to have its own rhythm. From volcanic peaks to tranquil hot springs, each of its seven prefecture has its own story steeped in centuries old culture and local pride.” And uh this one right here, take a look at this. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Uh occasionally it’ll pause for a second, but otherwise, not bad. Oh [ __ ] Yeah, let me know. Let me know if it’s laggy. Uh I can try my best to lower the quality, but it’s tough because we’re not in the main part of Japan. We are in Nagono. We’re kind of near the mountains. So the signal right now, I’m using both an eim and I’m using a pocket Wi-Fi for this. But take a look at this one. has a little pamphlet they give you. Uh there’s a QR code if anyone wants to scan it before I do, you get a discount. Uh and it looks like they show you the culture. So, you’re not only getting some snackies, but you’re getting a little bit of a lesson on uh the culture here of Japan and where these snacks are coming from. Now, man, let me tell you, hey, there’s nothing better than being an informed consumer. All right? Being being an informed eater. Because I’ll tell you what, guys, this is gonna sound crazy, but you guys know Alex the Great from the community yesterday. He and I tried horse meat for the first time. I’m lucky to be alive. I’m lucky to be alive. That guy was gobbling four, five, six pieces of horse meat like he’d done it before. Um, but I would love to know where that came from, but thankfully we’re alive today. Um, but look at these. This is not horse meat. This is regular delicious looking snacks. Okay, this is some good regular snacks right here out here. This is delicious. And we’re going to try we’re going to bring some with us. Okay, we need some emergency rations when we go out there. Um I’m going to bring this one. It looks like a nice little pound cake. And then two little wasabi things. But you guys can see the box is filled to the brim. Let me just let me just like I’m not going to shake them and show you guys. Look at this, dude. What is going on? This is a box filled for probably like 10 people. They really said, “Bro, it’s from America. Let’s give him American portions out here.” They said, “Homie loves to eat.” Probably he’s American. Let’s give him the meal for 10. Damn. Look at this. Look at this. It’s like a I’m like a magician right now. I’m just pulling snacks out of this box and it doesn’t stop. Hash Alex the horse eater. That’s what you guys should start calling him. Let him know. Let him know he was goblin horsemeat. But that’s crazy. Look at this guys. So many good things coming out here. So anyways, let’s get let’s get to it. Let’s let’s go on our journey. Um this trip has been amazing. If there’s anything that this trip has informed me, it is that I need to do more of these. So, if you guys missed out on this one, um if you guys didn’t get the chance to sign up, just know that I love this trip. Like, this has already been one of the best things I’ve done in my life and I want to do it. And and it’s crazy cuz uh the community um I’ve done I’ve done two workshops already with the community and um getting a round of applause at the end of every workshop, it just feels good. It feels it feels awesome uh to to know that I’m not just a live streamer, but I can actually help you guys out in real life. Uh you know, you know, but let me show you guys. I’ll show you guys the view. All right, you guys can take a look. I don’t mind getting doxed out here, but this is how it looks like right now in Nagono. And we’re going to be exploring this area. Look at this. Crazy, right? Yo, let’s get to it. I think it’s time, man. I think it’s time to go. So, let me uh let me get this all set up. You guys are going to come out here with me. And yes, lifetime experience. No, man. It It is It is genuinely a lifetime experience. Um I I I can’t It’s It’s honestly so surreal to be in a country as amazing as as Japan with 24 other artists, you know? like you can’t go wrong. Also, I need to show you guys a sketchbook. Let’s do a quick tour. Um, do I have my room key? You’re You’re spooking me, guys. I have my room [Laughter] key. Um, let me show you guys. Look at this. So, this is some of the stuff that I’ve drawn out here while I was in Japan. Um, you can see that looks sick. We went to Yanuka, so I drew some steps and I was also teaching people how to do some life drawing stuff. Um, I drew our tea master who made matcha for us. She was amazing. 10 out of 10 person. Uh, was testing out some brushes right here. And uh, what else? Testing out more [Music] brushes. People uh, people. I was drawing people while we were walking. An incredibly hard challenge. Uh, drawing people while I was uh, sitting in the train and just showing people how to do stuff like this as well. But yeah, man. It’s been good. We’re going to do some today. We’re going to do some drawing today. Uh, unfortunately, and you guys can get your apps in the chat for this, but unfortunately I only got I only have you guys for an hour. All right, you only have me for an hour today cuz um uh I do have a workshop. I’m going to be a little bit quiet cuz we’re walking the hallways. Okay, we’re walking. Oh, hello. I’m live streaming right now. Do you guys want to say hi or no? Yeah. You guys want to say hi? All right, guys. Look. We have people. Look, these are these are my people. Look, it’s Look at that. They’re here. I told you they’re not fake. They’re real people. Real human. Honest honest take. Have you guys been enjoying the trip? Yes. A lot’s missing out. They’re missing out. The chat is missing out. 100%. I told you. Get your hands on the next one, though. The next one. And it’ll be it’ll be even better every time. Oh, yeah. But I’ll I’ll see you guys in 55 minutes for the workshop. All right. See you. See, I told you guys. I told y’all I wasn’t making things up. Like here’s me fit of the day wearing my uh wearing my uh my Digimon outfit today. You’re too broke, which you’d love to. Hey, you know, we have some payment plans and stuff. Uh we’re probably going to lose our signal. Okay, we’re going to lose our signal. We’re going down the elevator, but um we’ll uh we’ll we’ll we’ll we’ll reconnect in a bit. sign up. Uh, probably I’ll probably make an announcement at some Oh, thanks for the [Music] following. Okay, let’s see. We’re back. Hopefully you guys can Can you guys hear me? Yo, thanks for the sub. Okay, Okami, appreciate it. All right. Um, I’m streaming right now, guys, but I’m covering it up. You guys are good. All right. My mods are here. My mods are here, guys. They’re having H. You want to show you’re you’re okay? Oh, hey, look. My mods are here, too. Boom. This one is uh Jexe. This one. This one. This one right here is Shemrock. No, I’m kidding. I’m kidding. Um, you guys want to say honest opinion? How’s the trip been? It’s been a lot of walking. Lot of lot of walking. No water inside. Has thirsty. There’s literally a a refresh station right there. You guys didn’t know about that? Okay, but how about the art? How about the art? Has it been good? The workshops, have they been good? I like the one last night. Last night was Yeah, last night was a vibe. I’m looking forward to this one. This one’s gonna be a vibe, too. It’s about career. What was that? Toma. Oh, toma. Yeah. See, people didn’t know. I I know people out here. I got motion in Japan. I can bring some people out. Some guests also. Is it? We got some. It’s not Wednesday. Uh, yeah. But at five, I’ll see you guys. Um, all right. All right. Do you think they can smite us right now? Yeah, they can still ban you guys. Alex, stop playing around. I know, right? Crazy. I told you some do a stream like speed, bro. Uh I wish honestly I think to do a speed stream, we need we need um what is it called? We need we I need to have a cameraman and I need to have that motion. But uh yeah. Yo, how’s it going, Connie? You guys feet going to fall off? I’ll tell you this. Um, I It’s funny because I trained I trained for this trip. I ran uh I basically walked and ran three miles a day every day for this trip to build up my stamina, build up my endurance, my speed. So, I’m good, baby. I’m locked in. So fun to see people who’s normally behind the screen. I know. I know. All right, but guys, let’s let’s go up the staircase. I want to draw some I want to draw some views. Maybe we’ll go up here real quick. Um, and let me know. Is the view okay? Can you guys see it? All right. We’re going to go up the stairs. Let’s find a nice spot to just draw. I think that’d be that would be chill. Yeah, you’re good. Oh [ __ ] Yo, imagine if I was just a an IRL art streamer. I think we could do it, chat. I love doing stuff like this. Exploring a new area. Um, look at this. Look at the view. Ready? Look at this. Look at this. Three, two, Oh man. Let’s draw right here. Let us draw right here. Let me see what you guys see. Oh yeah. Okay. Today we’re going to be drawing this. So, our goal, my goal here in Japan is every every day I want to do 10 drawings. Uh, I don’t know if we’re going to do 10 today, but I think we’re going to do maybe two or three today. Um, so we’re going to do some right now. I want to draw this scene, but I’m I’m going to get it ready. I’m going to put the chat away, though. I should be able to still read you guys here. So, let’s see it. I think this is maybe a good page. or this one right here is a good page. Okay, let’s do it. Um, I can I can see the chat. So, yeah, I should be able Oh, you know what? Hold on. Hold on. At this time, I have the option to hear you guys. I can hear your guys’ voice. Hold on. Okay. All right. I should be able to hear you if you guys type stuff. Hopefully. Hopefully. Let’s see. But yeah, it’s been it has been honestly uh currently Oh, thank you for joining in. Um uh normal chat cameraman’s in the US. [Music] Yeah, right. Hey, how’s it going? said, “Does Japan smell different from American?” Whoa, whoa, hold on. Wait. You guys are You said Jesus. You guys are artist. You guys You guys blew up my TTS. That’s crazy. Okay. I didn’t know you guys were going to chat that much. Um, do we get to help translate again? Um, yeah. If you guys want to, hell yeah. I I I’ve actually gotten a lot better at Japanese. It’s crazy because my my tour guide, she actually asked me, she said she said, “Have you like she’s like, “You’ve studied Japanese before, right?” And I was like, “No, I’ve never I’ve never studied Japanese. I just like picked up stuff in conversation.” So she was like, “Oh, but she’s like, “Honto, but your pronunciation is so good.” And I was like, “Ah, yeah, it’s cuz I’m a weeb. It’s cuz I watch anime since I was a baby. Other than that, now I haven’t practiced anything. But yeah, she was like, “Ah, soul.” I was like, “Yep, yep, that’s the one, baby. Weeb unite. That’s it.” She was really impressed with my pronunciation. She was like, she was like, “You have a really good ear for um for the language.” And I’m like, “Yeah, makes sense.” Cuz it’s uh aside from English, it’s like the only other thing I hear. Where’s the rest of the crew with the duck hats? Um, they’re resting right now. We just we just came back from a long long day uh at Zen uh Zen Koji Temple. So, right here, Zenoji Temple. We went there. Also, guys, the cops are here. Look, the cops. Oh, [ __ ] The cops are like right next to us. I’m going to I’m going to pretend like I’m not crazy, okay? Cuz I do not want to be Johnny Somalied, but they’re literally 10 ft away from me. I don’t want to be I don’t want to cause any problems. Please, chat. Please. Oh my god, bro. I’m just drawing. I’m just drawing. I’m I’m keeping them in the corner of my eye right now. This is affecting my drawing skills. I think if my drawing looks bad, they’re going to think I’m trolling, right? So, I need to have like imagine I’m like I’m an artist and then I show them my drawing and it looks like complete ass. Dude, they’re gonna be like, “No, you’re not. No, you’re not. You’re gonna get arrested.” I will say this. I will say this. Um, someone in our community had to go to the train st uh to to not the train station, the police station. Already off the bat, someone in our community had to go to the police. Bro, it’s crazy. Nothing bad. Nothing bad. They just lost their purse. and they lost their purse in arguably one of the busiest areas in Japan or in Tokyo which is uh Asakusa Miji Jingu uh that temple area. I forgot the name of the temple but they lost their purse there on a Saturday mind you on a Saturday. But thankfully over here in Japan in Japan people are actually good Samaritans and they don’t steal your [ __ ] So, you know, they actually returned everything, cash and everything to the police. Yeah, they found it. The police had it. It’s crazy. It’s actually um It’s actually crazy cuz in the US, bro. Nah. Not only would your purse and stuff have been stolen, they would have stolen your identity. Oh, hold on. The cops are coming. The cops are coming. Okay. Okay. They moved closer, but they’re not staring at me, so it’s okay. Oh [ __ ] They’re coming, dude. Oh, look. Okay, we’re good. We’re cleared. They moved past me. They moved past me, bro. Oh [ __ ] Oh [ __ ] What the hell, man? I was scared. Oh man. I thought I thought I was going to get Johnny some Molly for real. You know, we did see the cops uh we did see the cops stop some gajjun because there was some gajjun that was jogging across Miji Jingu and apparently you’re not supposed to do that. So the cops were chasing this dude down. Dude, that was the first time I’ve seen any actual cop action here in Japan. Um insane. Insane. I was I was surprised. It’s cool. Regardless you’re not in the US, you’re probably not going to get Hey, I guess. Yeah, I guess I’m kind of safe from that at least. But I do I do uh I do prefer not getting in trouble when I’m in a different country, you know. I I I would like to remain a uh a regular bystander, an appreciator of the culture, if you will. No jogging allowed. No, there’s just certain areas that you’re not allowed to uh be like sprinting in and stuff. It’s supposed to be like a um like a ne like a nature preservation stuff like that. And uh there there’s kind of like it’s interesting, but in Japan there’s surprisingly a lot of strict rules and and some of it is even unspoken. So, for example, if you’re in a train, depending on which train you’re at, which city you’re in, all that stuff, uh sometimes you can’t speak over there or it’s like it’s considered very rude to speak on the train. So, if you ever walk into a train in in uh Tokyo, for example, you might find that everybody there is just dead silent, right? And like you have to just not speak. You can’t even fart. Like if you let loose a juicy one, you you they’d look at you. They’d look at you. They might even shun you, you know? So, you really got to be careful about that kind of stuff out here in Japan. There’s a very specific way that the culture works. Um Yeah. It’s bad etiquette, basically. Mhm. You’re also not supposed to eat in the train, right? Yeah. You’re not really supposed to eat in the train. Not supposed to drink, but Oh, hold on. Did I Did I tell you guys how in the I went to a Kendrick Lamar concert. Kendrick Rama and I got spat on. Did I tell you guys that story or No, I don’t remember. Let me cuz cuz I realized when I was in Japan uh on the train, I realized why they don’t let people drink. Um tell me if I already told this story cuz then I won’t I won’t tell you guys the story. But someone spat on me, bro. Um what? Okay, apparently I didn’t tell you this story. Okay, let me tell you the story. So we went to a Kendrick Lamar concert and I was vibing. Me and cameraman, we were vibing in this concert and then, mind you, all of a sudden we both get a juicy spray of water on the back of our heads, right? And I was like, “What the fuck?” Um, and so I turn around and some girl had was chugging water and she was choking on her water, but for some reason she decided to tilt her head 90° and projectile spit all the water right at the back of our heads. She didn’t she didn’t cough it down. She didn’t cough it to the left or the right. She coughed it up and down like a parabola. like it was a like like it was a function equation like this, bro. It was crazy. And I was about to get mad at her, right? I was about to flip a little bit, but then when I looked at her and she was like choking on water, I was like, “Okay, okay.” But still, that honestly ruined my night. If it wasn’t for if it wasn’t for how good Kendrick Lamar was, I would have been so mad because dude, that was disgusting. Uh that had that had never happened to me ever. Like when I tell you she spat on me, dude, imagine a full like a full gulp of water. Just blah right on you, man. Yeah, it was nasty. Um but anyways, we’re okay. We’re okay now. We’re living, but uh yeah. Um anyways, we got here our spot. This is going to be This is uh Nagono Station. Nagono Station. And we are looking at Family Mart, baby. Also, I don’t know if you guys can tell, but these papers right here, uh, these are papers that I gifted to my community, uh, the people who traveled with us. They get these special storyboard frame papers that I got from a friend of ours, uh, in LA. And basically, you can write the scene number on here. You can write the panel number, some notes, and there’s even perforated dots to tell you the frame, the frame size, and everything. This [ __ ] has been so nice uh to use and you just kind of like you’re kind of like storyboarding um but in real life, you know. But here’s what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna use my trusted blue highlighter to just add some finishing touches. Uh I like to kind of just add a bit of texture to things. So, we’re going to add some like shapes right here uh for the windows. Cool. There you go. Have you ever drawn pictures of the locals yet? Uh yeah, actually we drew a bunch, but what I end up doing normally is I give them away to people. So, um I didn’t record any of it. I just uh whenever a local comes by and they want me to draw them, I just draw them and then I give them the drawing afterwards. But I did do uh this one. This one I didn’t give away. So, this one I’m keeping. Uh this was I was on the train and I was just drawing people as they were kind of coming in and out of the train and stuff. So this one was really cool. But most of the drawings I just give away to people. So it’s funny cuz my sketchbook my sketchbook is getting thinner and thinner every day. Uh but yeah, we’re in Nagono. So we’re in Nagono right now. Let me let me pull back the chat and Yeah. All [Music] right, let’s see. How’s the weather there? Uh, it’s nice. The weather weather is like a cool 65° right now. Nice. And uh it’s cloudy, but it’s not cold. Like it’s not freezing. So, it’s nice because even though I’m walking a lot and I’m getting a lot of steps in, uh I’m not really breaking a sweat, you know. Uh you heard Japan has some killer art supply stores. Yeah, we might we might go to some during the Tokyo stream. So uh when we go to Tokyo, we’re going to go to the Depa Deachiki, I think. Depart store. And so we’ll visit um uh Loft uh Oto Otoya something like that. Uh when is the next stream? The next stream will probably be in 2 or 3 days. Uh probably 2 days, 3 days. The humid the Yeah, the uh humidity is great too. Otoya, I think is the name of the the the stationary store. Well, we’re going to move that way. You guys can see across. We’ll go there. Um, what made us go to Nagono? We mostly wanted to go to Nagono because there’s a lot of um temples in Nagono that a lot of temples and buildings and structures that uh basically lasted uh that were not impacted by the war. Uh so kind of culturally it’s just kind of cool to see that you know buildings that have lasted for uh for centuries, right? And so we kind of wanted to see that a bit. But um yeah, it’s just a nice uh also just a nice change of pace from from Tokyo. You want have I seen any skateboards or electric scooters? No. No, no, no. They don’t have that. Not in Japan. If you want to skateboard in Japan, you go to the skate parks. They don’t have uh nah nah. By the way, I’m not even a fan. They have a lot of bikes, though. So, people who bike and stuff, uh they have a lot of that. So, so yeah. Uh let me see. I got to keep track of the time. Did you pass the KFC restaurant from JJK? Ah, it uh honestly I don’t know. I don’t remember. Wait, I was trying to go to the I wanted to go to the Doniote. I wanted to show you guys Doniote, but I got lost. That’s okay. You want to teleport so bad? Hopefully. Yeah, hopefully. Uh, for sure next year we’re going to do another one. Uh, but next year we might do a different location. So, next year we might do uh Tokyo uh Tokyo and Shizuka. So, uh yeah. So, we might do a different spot next year. Um, how true is there no trash bins or benches in Japan? It’s true. It’s very true. It’s but it’s just part of the culture. Um, so, so in in Japanese culture, basically like if you if there’s a bench, it’s going to be for the specific shop that you’re paying for, right? So they don’t let people loiter around the shop unless uh unless you paid for the goods there. And um similarly too, there’s uh yeah, there’s not a lot of trash bins. There’s there’s a lot of reasons why, but honestly, I think now it’s mostly for just cleanliness. I like it a lot. It kind of, you know, there’s a responsibility to keep your keep your trash and stuff. So yeah. Are you going for any anime conventions? Nah, not really. Not not personally, but I know they got a lot. They got a lot of big ones, especially the the Star Wars ones. The Star Wars Star Wars ones are pretty big. Yeah, the pipe bomb guy. Yeah, that too. That too. Ah, let’s see. What should we draw? I want to draw You know what? We had a good view earlier, but I’m trying to see like how I want to capture the essence of uh of Nagono. And I think we’re here at the heart of the city of this of this particular area. I might draw one of the buildings like this one. There’s one coming up that looks really nice. Uh do they really wrap individual fruit shaped in plastic? Yeah, I I Yeah, maybe. That seems like a very Japanese thing to do. Um, I really like this building a lot. That’s a cool building. We might maybe we’ll draw that. I was I was hoping uh I was hoping we could we could find a Doniote, but maybe maybe we can also do maybe we can draw I might be down to draw a local if they’re if they’re up for it. We’ll see. I’m not here to disturb the peace, though. Ah, I heard um is seu. What is say you? How long have I been in Japan? Uh 50 years. No, we’ve only been in Japan for a couple days, honestly. But uh weren’t you in Japan not too long ago? Yes, that’s true. Uh that’s true. That’s true. I I don’t think we could stream inside the book off, but um No, I was in Japan in February, so we’re back here again in this area. I love Japan. Oh, there’s a nice karaoke spot right here. I’ll show you guys. Um yo, how’s it going, Izzy? I’m Izzy, the one in the group who was briefly detained when I lost my bag. And I’m here to say it’s all slander. I don’t believe any of it’s of Kasem just starting drama. Wait, I didn’t even say anything bad. I I literally said I literally just said that. I didn’t say anything crazy. I don’t believe in slander for views. Come on. Come on. What the h? Maybe I’ll ask real quick. I think these are You got to hook this up. Hook this up. Does the air have a different vibe in the US? Um, what do you mean speak your truth? I didn’t lie. I didn’t lie about anything. I literally just said that that she she lost her purse and some good Japanese Samaritans left the purse in the station and she had to go. That was it. I did not lie. What the heck? Um, does the air have a different vibe in the than in the US? Uh, I mean, yeah, it depends on where you are, but generally, yes, the the air, the air is better here, but what’s more, what’s better than in the US is um the the uh the water. Oh my god, dude. The water in Japan is different. So, you want to check out the water for sure. Where is Where’s the donkeyote, though? Thanks for the follows, guys. Okay, sorry guys. I’m Dude. Okay, we’re going to go to Donkeyote real quick. Uh, yo, thanks for the follow. Appreciate it. Um, is the humidity getting bad? No, dude. The weather’s perfect right here. Um, I think it gets bad in July. I heard it gets bad in July, but it’s nice right now. You missed the $2 lemon sours. See, I I see people in my uh in my travel group didn’t know that I’m a heavyweight. So, they tried to challenge me. Some of them said, “Kumm, we’re going to go drink for drink with you. Kasem, if uh I’ll do I’ll do uh five push-ups for the number of drinks you did.” They didn’t know I was down in five lemon sours. They didn’t know I was drinking my umeshes like nothing, bro. They didn’t know I had the acai beers like that. They got cooked. Some people got cooked. But no, some people held their liquor. Um, uh, you know, you know. See you back in Cali. Let’s run drinks. Nah, I don’t mess with Koreans. Nah, no, I don’t play that game with Koreans. Koreans are crazy. Koreans drink water like like uh drink alcohol like they’re drinking water. Oh man. Sounds like Alex. Yeah, I told you guys, right? It’s funny, man. Alex the Great. Alex the Great is exactly what I expected him to be. I tell you what, yesterday, yesterday, this guy did not want to try any food, right? He didn’t want to try any food. So, I tricked him a little bit. And so, we ordered horsemeat. Okay? We ordered some horse meat for him. And not And here’s the thing, it wasn’t even cooked. It wasn’t cooked horse meat. It was horsemeat sashimi. So, we ordered horsemeat sashimi. And I told him, I said, “Bro,” I said this. I said, “The first time you try it, the first time you try it, you’re not going to like it. The second time you try the horse meat sashimi, you’re going to hate it even more. But the third time you try it, you’re going to get hooked.” Right? That’s what I said. I said, “You’re going to get hooked by it.” And guess what happened? Guess what happened? The guy tried it once, he didn’t like it. He tried it a second time, he almost vomited. But the third time he tried it, the guy was hooked. And then he ate three more by himself. By the end of the night, he ate the most horse meat out of everybody. He was gobbling. Bro was gobbling horse meat like no tomorrow, man. Like like like it was insane, man. It was insane. All right, here we go. We’re going to Donkeyote. Don don. Let me know if the signal cuts out, though. [Music] Yo, is the signal [Music] good? Out of context, you know how uh the signal is good, right guys? [Music] All right. I want to draw something from Dawn. Signal is terrible. All right. Bet. Bad. Bed. Bet. We’ll go back out. We’ll go back out. All right. All right. We’ll go out. We’ll go out. We’ll go out. All right. We’re pushing the limits. [Music] didn’t get a good view. All right, we’re going out. We’re going out. Back out. Back out. Ah, what’s this? Hey. Hey, look at that. Yeah, we got a good view. Got a good view of uh the the upper area. So many snacks. Yes, indeed. I haven’t walked up this path yet, so it’s kind of cool to just see it, you know. Oh, I think it cuts off here, though. Looks like it’s an inn. Huh. Yeah, it looks like it’s a dead end from there. All right, we turn back. Hey, someone planning on going to Japan October with a friend. What should I know about? H, that’s a that’s a tough question. What the hell? That’s a tough question. It’s like, uh, I don’t know. You know, there’s so many things. How many non-Asians have you seen that aren’t you? Like, in general out here, there’s a there’s a handful. You’ll see a handful out here, but Nagago is definitely uh in general, it’s already a smaller population than Tokyo, but even uh tourism wise, it’s even less. So, there’s not as many there’s not as many tourists here in in uh in Nagono right now. It’s funny though because some people mistake me I think for being Japanese because the way that I talk and pronounce things is pretty decent in terms of pronunciation. So like it gets really difficult sometimes when I ask for stuff and I ask for questions and stuff and then they they speak to me in straight Japanese, bro. And then the moment they find out that I’m a fraud, they just look at you different, you know? They look at you way different. But yeah, which way should we go? I want to I want to pick a spot to draw. Maybe we could draw some like uh people some people drawing at the station. I like I like doing stuff like this. Maybe let’s find a spot. You know the look. Ah, Texas. Texas tax three. [Music] Texas. Dang. Some guy some guy to my left just gave me the dirtiest look. That’s crazy. What the hell? got the dirtiest look, bro. Um, all right. Well, let’s let’s draw. I think this is a nice spot to just draw people. I assume that I’ll never need to look because nobody ever’s going to assume that I’m fully Japanese. No, fair enough. Fair enough. I think in Japan, you have to be very cautious. Uh, you got to be very cautious about being a streamer in Japan these days because of all the bad just all the bad reputation, you know, from from crazy ass streamers. It’s unfortunate out here, but it’s it’s like the uh the behavior of a few individuals really really messed it up for uh for a lot of just the good Samaritans, you know, who are just trying to share their experience in Japan, not trying to disturb the peace. But yeah, it’s it sucks. It sucks that that there are people who would go out of their way to make content at the expense or disrespect of others. Yeah, the gajun debuff, man. Um, why are people wearing nose masks? This is not the era for CO. Bro, you know that in Asia they’ve been wearing they’ve been wearing masks way before CO, [Laughter] bro. In Asia, in Asia, bro, they’ve had masks. They’ve had that wasn’t a that was for them. They were ahead of the curve, man. Um, yeah, it’s nor it’s normal here. It’s normal here. No, it has nothing to do with CO. Honestly, I dig it. I I think the normalization of wearing masks uh should be a common thing in the US, too. Unfortunately, it’s not. But, uh, but yeah. All right. I want to draw I want to draw this uh this statute thing. I don’t know if you guys can see it well enough, but I want to draw that. Um, does Japan not have streamers because it was like three guys that were messing everything up? Here, I’ll tell you guys some stuff. All right, I’ll tell you guys some tea. All right, you didn’t hear from me, but basically, especially in Tokyo, uh, people in uh people in Japan really, really, oh, sorry, people in Tokyo really do not [ __ ] with streamers. Uh, if if you’re being disrespectful, right? If you’re just minding your own business, you’re cool. you’re cool. They’re not, you know, you’re not here. You’re not hitting people. You’re not being extra loud. Uh all that stuff, you’re good. You’re good. And and and like maybe they’ll give you a weird eye, you know, they’ll be kind of curious, but as long as you don’t disturb the peace and you respect the culture, right, you’re good. But unfortunately, a lot of streamers, a lot of streamers think that they have to be crazy to get viewership, right? Everybody thinks they got to do stupid [ __ ] to get the views. And so, unfortunately, a good percentage of streamers are naturally loud. They’re naturally bothering the guests and or not the guests, but they’re naturally bothering the locals and they don’t even care to practice Japanese, right? They don’t even care to speak Japanese at all. They just they just want to like, you know, harass people and do weird [ __ ] So, over in Tokyo, there’s actually a hit list. There is uh they they have they like they circulate it amongst the community of of like wanted posters almost of of kick streamers and just notorious bad streamers that if you see them, you know, like if you see them, either you you run from them or you report them. Like that’s how bad it is, man. That’s how bad it is out here because some people are just are just horrible. Thankfully, I’m not on that list. Um, I’ve had I’ve asked I’ve asked some people to verify. Um, you know, I I’ve had some people verify. They’re like, “Hey, yo, you ever heard of Km on the list?” They’re like, “Nah, nah, nah. He’s not cool enough.” Which is good. Which is good, man. I don’t want to The only time I would want a wanted poster is if I’m in the world of One Piece. You know what I’m saying? And if I’m a pirate with a bounty, that is the only time that I would want a wanted poster. Any other situation, I’m good. I’m good. Keep keep my face out the out the tabloid, you know. Oh, this one’s looking good. This one’s looking nice. Oh, we’re cooking on this one. Not cool enough for a bounty. Sorry, guys. Sorry. Sorry, you got a regular uh streamer who respects Japanese culture too much. Okay. Oh yeah, we’re locked in on this one. But honestly, like the baseline for all you have to do in Japan, realistically, the baseline is to just not be annoying. If you can do that, they’ll tolerate you. If you can speak the language, they’ll like you, you know, like that’s it. That’s it. But some people don’t even want to do that. Okay, go see Oda in Japan. It’s funny because I have a few friends apparently who uh who hang out with Ichroda man, but obviously they don’t show me his face. They they hide his face. It’s very It’s a very strict policy, like company policy. But I have some buddies out here who are grabbing dinner with Icherota. I’m like, “Oh my god, what is life? What is life? How do I get that? Mhm. W for real. Yeah. The nerv respecting people’s culture ought to be ashamed. I know. Uh video recording is also frowned upon in Japan, isn’t it? Uh no. No. It’s just it public spaces are fine, you know? Like it’s totally normal. It’s uh you just have to respect certain private spaces. Like certain stores are not going to let you do that. Um if you go to like temples and stuff, they don’t even allow you to do photography, let alone video stuff. So, you just kind of have to respect the culture. Like whenever I’m doing a stream or something, and if I uh uh what’s it called? If I’m doing a stream and I’m coming in, I’m entering a spot, it’s either I hide the camera or I I go to the BRB screen, right? So, uh, yeah, I I try to, you know, be respectful because that’s my priority is I’m not I’m not here to be a menace to society. Plus, the type of content I do is naturally, how do I say this? Uh, the type of content I do is naturally low energy to begin with for, you know, like we’re drawn in Japan. It’s not like I’m trying to prank people or trying to do some stupid [ __ ] or trying to go to a forest, you know? Like, I’m just here uh I’m just here to draw and uh share that with people. That’s it. That’s that’s my baseline, dude. I’m locked in. I’m locked in on this drawing right now. Oh, y’all you guys are catching me on a strong day. You’re catching me on a strong time right now. [Music] What are Japan’s thoughts on drones? Oh, they hate drones. They hate drones. Um there’s there are certain places where they even have signs where it’s like, “Get that out of here.” Cuz cuz Japan’s about their privacy, right? They’re they’re about like respecting your privacy and stuff. And drones are so loud. Um they’re they’re kind of annoying and often times they buzz by people’s homes and everything. Nah, they don’t like that stuff. Obviously in certain spaces it’s okay, right? But again, like you got to you got to think about the community and and and all that. So uh but yeah, no, this is looking good. Let me show you guys what I was drawing. I just I just drew her head and stuff. So I’m going to add some stuff in the background. Still can’t believe people forgave him for that. I mean, people in the US did. People in Japan, I don’t think they’ll they forget that stuff. But yeah, I don’t know. I mean, I don’t really I’m not I’m not a fan of that that content creator. So, personally, I don’t see what people see in him, you know, but whatever. Whatever. I guess there’s entertainment for every every individual. Don’t say it like that. Hey, I’m just saying. I’m just saying it is what it is. The drawings be looking good. Thank you guys. Uh and thank you guys for tuning in on today’s stream. I know it’s a weird time. It’s a weird time to be streaming right now cuz I don’t I’ve I don’t think I’ve ever streamed at this time regularly. You know, I’ve streamed at this time for uh special events like the uh the 24-hour streams and stuff, but this one Yeah, this one is a little a little different from from the usual time frame. Entertainment at the price of others. Peace is not great entertainment. That’s what I’m saying. That’s what I’m saying. Live my dream for me. Hey, maybe maybe maybe next year. Maybe you can come out next year. I I I will tell you guys this. Uh there is a 100% chance I’m doing this again next year. Uh this has been incredible. Uh I I hope it’s been incredible for the people who are on the trip obviously, but for me personally, it’s been an incredible uh journey. It’s been an incredible experience for me to help you guys out directly to to learn from you guys, but even get really inspired too. Like I think it’s there’s something about having a group of people come together uh specifically specifically a group of artists come together uh and just wanting to connect with each other, right? All wanting to get inspired, all wanting to learn and explore and have fun. And um it’s nice. It’s genuinely such a nice experience. And I I already know like when I come back when I come back to to the US, I’m going to be locked in. I’m going to be locked in. The energy out here is going to be crazy. Like a little 100% like a little family. Yep. Uh let’s see. Anything you feel that’s overrated in Kyoto or Tokyo? Uh I think like the sky tree and stuff. It’s like one of those things where I don’t want to say it’s overrated, but it’s one of those things where it’s like you see it once and you’re like, “Okay.” you know, like, okay, that’s cool. That’s the view, I guess. Right. That I I don’t want to say it’s overrated, but this it’s the kind of stuff that I personally don’t care about. Like, I don’t know. I I think it’s one of those things where everyone’s like, “You got to go to the sky tree. You got to see you got to see everything and like see the view.” And I’m like, “I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m good.” But stuff like that, I don’t I personally don’t care too much about. Maybe if I’m going to draw it. If I’m going to draw it, then yeah, like that adds like a that adds like a layer, I guess, to uh a layer of intrigue to [Music] everything. But yeah, uh but let me see here. Uh yeah. So, let me let me give you guys some updates. Um I think we’re going to stream again in a couple days, maybe. I’m not sure if it’s going to be in two days around the same time or maybe 3 days. I I think in 2 days. And uh for that stream uh in that stream, we will be in Tokyo. So, we will be in Tokyo that stream. That’s going to be a crazy day. Uh I’m going to take you guys to Weno and we might go to a Japanese zoo. We’ll see. We’ll see if I can get us into a Japanese zoo cuz I really I I like zoos. I I think I think if I can visit a zoo a zoo in every country I go to. I just might. I mean, I get it. They’re all animals, right? But I don’t know. I think it’s fun. I think it’s like a I’m really down for that. Uh you want to see locations that are referenced in anime? M those are fun. Like I always see the ones where people go to like Saitama uh Saitama’s Village, right? Like his little neighborhood with the apartment complex. And then there’s the um there’s the Jiujutsu Kaizen one as well too. There’s the Oh. Oh, the um the bleach the iconic bleach staircase. The bleach staircase one is on my list. I don’t know where it is. I haven’t really tried to look for it, but that one would be a sick one. Jojo pose. Uh, it’d be awesome if you could go to the hot springs with the monkeys. Oh, we’re going to go to that tomorrow. Um, unfortunately, unfortunately, I cannot stream that with you guys. Um, well, it’s not that I can’t stream it, I just don’t want to. Uh I I like to keep my my trip private cuz I know some people on the trip for example, you know, they don’t want to be on camera and I really want to respect that. Um but also I want that I want that trip experience to be unique to the people, right? Like I want them to know that this is something that’s special for them, right? It’s only for them to experience. Um and so that’s why I haven’t been streaming the trip itself. Uh I just want to enjoy the moment with them. I want to get to know every single person and I want us to just have fun. But, you know, I I I I love you guys as well. And so, that’s why I tried to I tried to find time outside of my schedule to just give you guys even if just like I can give you an hour of my time, you know? I want to I wanted to do that. So, cuz you guys know you guys know I like the crew. It’s what we do. Okay. Okay. Here we go. We’re basically done with this one. Oh, this one looks so good. Wait, this one, this one turned out so good. What the hell? Oh [ __ ] this one turned out really good. Wow, I’m I locked in. Okay, so this one is the N uh Nagono Nagono station. Nagono station um fountain. I appreciate the stream, but also enjoy your trip. Turn off streamer mode from time to [Laughter] time. Damn, look at that. Looking clean. Looking clean. Hold on. Are you guys stuck in an ad break? W drawing. You guys see it? Here’s the view. All right. But guys, um, unfortunately I do have to get ready for my workshop. We’re going to do a workshop with the community. So, uh, I do have to head out, but hold on. Let me let me turn the camera on. Let me turn the camera on to my side real quick. Ah. All right, hold on. There you go. All right, guys. I’ll see you guys in um I’ll see you guys in a couple days. All right, two days time. It’s going to be in Tokyo, Japan. It’ll be a good time. And uh yeah, have a good rest of your day, rest of your night, and I’ll see you on the next one. Peace. Let me turn off I’m going to turn off the stream if it works. Hopefully. Oh, it’s dead though. I don’t know. It’s not moving. Can you Can Chad see the drawing, though, or is it like too far away?
