Hi . I recently purchased a 1998 Toyota Aristo V300 and the steering wheel is locked and the keys won’t turn in the ignition slot. I tried wiggling the wheel back and forth while simultaneously turning the key with no luck. It is important to note that both keys given to me look worn (pictures provided). Has anyone ever gone through this issue before? Also the previous owner recently changed the battery and the alternator in hopes to solve a parasitic draw issue. I believe the issue is still present however. Nevertheless, one issue at a time. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears. Thank you.

figure it out yet? is it auto or manual, and have you tried rotating the key while you try turn turn it over and jerking the steering wheel at the same time? if auto make sure the little stopper for park is working right, i had a stickin switch on my svx and it did what youre saying, so if theres a neutral lock button on the center console try that. might be inder the shifter trim. if manual then disregard. if you do manage to get it out, dont put it back in. see if theres a vehivle that uses the same ignition cylinder thats readily available and replace it. hope that helps
rather than wiggling, try turning the wheel all the way to one side and holding it there while turning the key (i know it’s locked but like hold the wheel all the way to one side against it’s locked position if that makes sense)
i’ve had the same issue with both my old hondas where if i lock the wheel it can sometimes block the ignition from turning for some reason unless you turn it into or away from the ignition and this has always worked for me
