Ryokan with Highly effective hot spring and detached house of stunning view【 Choseikan, Niigata】
Large garden open-air bath with stunning view of cherry blossom at highly effective radium hot spring – Murasugi hot spring, Niigata, Japan Hello! This time, we shall go to “Choseikan” in Murasugi Onsen, Niigata. It has a large 13,000m2 garden that is beautiful in all four seasons, We’d like to enjoy the open-air bath and see the cherry blossoms from my room here. Lobby that looks like a traditional ryokan Check in while enjoying tea in the lobby. Head to your room while looking around the building. Look around the lobby. You can see the garden over there. Next is a library-like space, and go to the left there is the large bath. I will introduce the garden and the large hot spring bath later. And then there is the shop. In a corner of the lobby, there is hot spring water that we can drink. It was easy to drink and had no unpleasant taste. A multipurpose space that feels like a library Now, let’s head to our room Our room is “Gozu Ryokusuian, a detached room with an open-air bath” A room with 12.5 tatami mats and 12 tatami mats We walk down a fairly long private corridor We won’t get wet even if it rains. First, take a look around. the garden can be seen nicely. Spacious! There are no beds, futon should be appeared later. This side is a closet. Let’s go to the window, the garden all to yourself! There is also a massage chair. It’s hard to see the color, but we see cherry blossoms that have started to bloom over there. In the garden, various cherry blossoms bloom at different times, so you can enjoy them for a long time. It may have been a little early for the cherry blossoms in the garden this time, but we were glad we could see them from our room! Enter the room at the back The building itself seems old, but the rooms are very clean and nice. Exit to the right and there are the entrance, bathroom, and restroom. The view from here is wonderful. The cherry blossoms in front haven’t bloomed yet, but they’ll be amazing when they do! The veranda is all around. The veranda is spacious, too! There are carp swimming in the pond in front. Go out into the hallway and look at the bathroom. First, the restroom. Go further in and there’s the powder room. The indoor bath leads from the changing room. Both the indoor and outdoor baths are hot springs. Murasugi Onsen is a rare “radium hot spring” among hot springs in Japan. The hot spring is formed when granite containing a large amount of radioactive material melts. What, radiation? Don’t worry. Minute amounts of radiation activate the immune system. It is said to be a “cure bath” that has antioxidant properties and improves the body’s natural healing power. The water is clear and colorless, and the temperature is just right, so it’s easy to bathe in. The open-air bath in the room is spacious! Even just breathing in the air is effective, so
I shall relax here later. The amenities are standard for a hot spring ryokan,
and everything you need is there. We could see it from room, next let’s go out to the garden from the lobby. At vast garden, Flowers such as cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, greenery and bamboo lanterns in summer, Fall leaves in autumn, snowy scenery in winter – beautiful in four seasons They also hold live jazz events Our room is seen on the left, and the main building is on the right There are 3 teahouse-style private open-air baths over there. The large public bath and the bath in our room were so good that we didn’t bathe here. The detached room where we stayed was retro and charming. Depending on the room and plan, there are restaurants for meals. We dined in our room. We had our meal prepared in the room where we had a good view of the cherry blossoms! Non-alcoholic Koji Amazake instead of an aperitif Appetizers include firefly squid pickled in wasabi, clams dressed in butterbur miso, egg with sakura mochi cheese,
chicken and shrimp cherry blossom dumplings, lily petal root and broad beans. This Milk tofu made with fresh local milk is fluffy and delicious The menu is changed daily to match the seasonal ingredients purchased The sashimi is amberjack, scallops, and nanban shrimp Steamed whitebait and sakura shrimp in ginger sauce Grilled spring trout with rapeseed, kumquat honey, and hajikami Tempura of wild vegetables including kogome rice, cod buds, and butterbur shoots. Served with kinome salt Niigata Wagyu beef steamed in radium hot spring water Steaming in radium hot spring water should be super healthy! After steaming for about 15 minutes, we ate it with special sesame vinegar. The rice is Koshihikari rice from Sasakami, Niigata. Miso soup with nameko mushrooms from Niigata Prefecture, tofu and green onions, and pickles. For dessert, we had matcha pudding, fresh cream, and mint. The overall taste was mild and not heavy, a healthy dish. Thank you for the meal Looking outside, the garden is subtly lit up While we were eating, futons were prepared in the next room Incense was also prepared Let’s go to the hot spring and sleep. Good night Good morning! Finally, I shall show you to the large garden open-air bath! It’s 3399m2 (1000 tsubo) for both men and women, and the view is amazing! It was still a little early for the cherry blossoms in the garden, The cherry blossoms near the hot springs seem to bloom early, and they were just in full bloom! A wonderful open-air bath with a spectacular view! At night, but illuminated cherry blossoms were very beautiful. If you go, please be sure to go both during daylight and dark hours. The women’s bath is accented with turtle and crane stones. The area surrounded by stones on the bottom left is where the water from the spring is at a lower temperature. Alternating between hot and cold water is said to increase metabolism and be good for your health and beauty. The men’s bath has fish motif. Cherry blossoms is also seen here! The autumn leaves and snowy scenery must be beautiful. It’s a wonderful hot spring that is soothing by scenery and water. There are indoor baths for both men and women too. Breakfast was also served in the room, and was set up the same way as dinner. It feels like the cherry blossoms are blooming more than yesterday. Grilled and marinated coho salmon, spinach dressed with sesame, Kagura Nanban miso, miso soup, locally grown Koshihikari rice, Yasuda yogurt, simmered cut kelp, hot spring egg, Tororo mekabu, salad with carrot dressing, hijiki, kinpira burdock Murasugi’s specialty “Kawakami tofu’s Oboro tofu”
This is also nice The water is come from a radium spring. It was a very healthy Japanese breakfast with plenty of local ingredients with a mild taste. It’s time to check out. Above all, the view is amazing and the hot spring open-air bath is great. The food was healthy and the inn was great for health and beauty! A park built around Lake Hyoko, a place where swans come to live There is feeding, and you can see swans and many other water birds. There are rows of cherry trees around the lake, and they are usually in full bloom from mid- to late April. Gozu mountain range is seen from here, which is refreshing. After the cherry blossoms, Iris Garden, where about 300,000 irises bloom (early to late June), Hydrangeas (mid- to late June) and lotus flowers (late July to late August) will bloom. Fukushimagata is a treasure trove of nature, home to more than 220 species of wild birds and more than 470 species of plants. Every year, from early to late April, the 3-hectare rapeseed field is a spectacular sight! In the background, the Gozu mountain range, the lake, and the rows of cherry blossom trees make for a wonderful spring view! The snowy winter scenery is also great. The view from the observation deck “View Fukushimagata” is a spectacular sight on a grand scale! If you go a little further, you will find Yahiko Shrine, place for beautiful cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. Various types of cherry blossoms bloom from April to May. The autumn leaves are lit up at night, and the shrine is registered as a Japanese night view heritage site. Fireflies could be seen in early summer. Going further from Yahiko Shrine, There is the Ohkouzu Division Channel Cherry Blossom trees, one of Japan’s 100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots The 1,500 cherry blossom trees are a sight to behold! There are also places where rape blossoms are in bloom Every year, the “Bunsui Oiran Dochu” is held.
