► This is the latest edition of my “Best of Shinjuku”-series – showing you all the sights and sounds of Shinjuku – one of the 23 wards in Tokyo, and in my opinion, the most interesting of them all.

Whether you’re into high-end shopping at Takashimaya and Isetan, looking for the latest gadgets or videogames, any kind of Japanese food, or you simply wanna feel the energy and buzz of Tokyo at its best, while doing some serious people-watching – Shinjuku is the place to go!

West Shinjuku AKA “skyscraper District”, is also home to lots of high-end hotels, such as Keio Plaza, Hilton, Hyatt Regency, etc. On the East side, you’ll find the more quirky capsule hotels, budget hotels and hotels for, erm…. “couples in need of a… quick rest”.

If you travel to Tokyo, I really recommend you staying in Shinjuku, you’ll be spoiled with choices, whether food, shopping or sightseeing is your priority. And if you need a quiet break from it all, visit one of the numerous cafes, or perhaps Shinjuku Gyoen – a huge public park – right in the middle of Shinjuku.

Easy access to just about anywhere in Tokyo from Shinjuku.
– Enjoy!
