How NARROW is the seat??? | Singapore Airlines REGIONAL 787-10 Business Class

Hi there. I’m now at Singapore Changi Terminal 2 and it’s time to continue on my journey to Fukquoka, Japan on the Singapore Airlines Boing 787-10 in the regional business class. If you watch my previous video, I flew in from Sydney, Australia on their flagship A380 longhaul business class. In this video, you will see what the Silver Lounge here looks like as well as what to expect on sleeper service. Let’s go to the lounge now. Since my flight is leaving from terminal 2, I will use the Silver Crest Lounge there. After immigration, it’s just a left turn and an escalator right away. Super convenient. Here it is. Let’s head into the business class area and see what they got to offer. [Music] Wait, this is the world’s number two airline business class lounge. That’s it. Yes, this is the Silver Crest Lounge at Changi Terminal 2. Does it look like an underground library or foot massage lobby to you? Most of the seats here are low lounge chairs with no tables in front, and there are only a few bar stools and tables. How are people supposed to eat comfortably? Weird, right? Great that they got soft drinks, a beer dispenser, champagnes, and wines, but that’s nowhere close to any world [Music] leaders, bread, pastries, light dishes like salads or sushi rolls. Okay, I can’t complain. There are still hot dishes, but the low standards here make the Laka Bar look like heaven. It’s a live cooking station with a great selection of [Music] condiments. If you’re a drinker, here’s the selection of alcohol. Before I grab a bowl of laxa, I decided to go for a shower. Queueing is required. And after I finished the filming of the facilities, it was ready. The shower just looked like a small shower in a four-star hotel. Pretty standard. [Music] A huge drawback is they don’t even provide conditioner. And yes, I don’t think it’s embedded into the shampoo. This is proved by my hair being super dry after the shower. So, the shower is definitely not as good as Cath Pacific’s one at the Pier Business class. Here’s the Lexa before I board the plane. The recipe is great. I never get disappointed from it. After eating, I decided to do some work before boarding. Anyways, the Silver Crest Lounge experience is not only inconsistent, but it’s way behind Cath or some other four-star carriers. The one at Terminal 3 is certainly better, but I guess I’m just spoiled by Cathy’s lounges. Please have your boarding pass. Passport photo page handation. Remaining passengers, take your seated until next. After security at the gate, it was time to board tonight’s Dreamliner, flying us to Japan. Nine. Victor Sierra Charlie Victor, one of the newer Boeing 787-10s in the fleet, in service for about 1 year and three months. Hello. Welcome on board. Thank you very much. Mr. Go straight and turn right. Thank you. [Music] Hello, welcome for 193 window seat for you today. Yes, thank you. Thank you. The cabin is laid out in a staggered 121 configuration. My seat 19K will be a true window seat on the right hand side. If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe to my channel which will be really appreciated. Okay, let’s go through this quickly so I can sleep right after takeoff. This is the decentsized entertainment system. Same wide selection of movies and other entertainment options. And below is the tray table which can be doubled in size and adjusted. [Music] The footwell is still small, but at least you can sleep straight. And below that is a compact storage area. Next to that is the literature pocket. And above that, right behind the seat in front is a coat hook. Moving over to the ledge are pre-placed amenity kits, slippers, and right on the edge is the headphone jack and seat controls and the touchscreen entertainment remote. Behind the ledge is a small but compact storage box with two USBA ports, universal power plug, and a credit card reader. Inside are the menu and other amenities like headphones and water. Here’s a hook for the headphones. On the other side are reading lights. Many amp geeks like me don’t like the shell design around the seat. You can’t look out the window as easily as on other products. Unlike the A380 or the old 2013 long haul business class seats, this seat comes with an adjustable headrest. Great. Uh, yes. May I have the orange juice, please? There we go. Thank you so much. Thank you. The welcome service consisted of a drink. In that case, I opted for an orange juice and a hot towel. Singapore Airlines brands these redeye flights as sleeper services. Passengers get to choose signing after takeoff or before landing as long as you let the crew know. Being sleepd deprived, I decided to have it before landing and behind you. In the unlikely event of an emergency or when you hear the command, brace. Brace. Heat. Heat. [Music] Before I go to sleep, let me show you the left tree. So, in front is a mirror standard. To your right is uh dry towels, amenities. Below that is a razor, pen, halagons, amenities, including hand lotion, face mist, and you the toilet. And here is a uh pedal operated uh trash bin. And here is hand soap, toilet seat, toilet seat cover, and fake flowers and a mirror. And here over here, you have two coat hooks. Back at my seat, I put the seat in bed mode. I’m really tired. Good night. 3 hours later. Good morning. A few passengers woke up for their meals while some were still enjoying sleep. The crew placed the tablecloth over my table. No salt and pepper unlike on the A380 flight. The meal was served in one tray. I opted for the lobster thermodor as my main in the book to cook menu. On the side were a selection of fresh fruits. That’s all. Let’s dig in. The dish was amazing. However, it was overwhelming for a sleep-d deprived person having breakfast. The super creamy meat and potato made me feel a bit nauseous and uncomfortable afterwards. I would certainly order this again, but definitely not drink breakfast. So, we have some sparkle water at least. Sure, just some croissant for now. Pastry croissant. Yes. [Music] During the meal service, I also discovered this beauty mirror that slides out as well as this retractable armrest beside the seat. After the meal, the sun was about to rise. The windows are dimmed by the crew and locked. I politely asked the crew if they could unlock the windows, but nothing happened. Singapore Airlines usually does this, so other passengers couldn’t rest. Funny enough, they undamped the windows for all passengers after sunrise. What is this logic? Can anyone working in SQ tell [Music] me? 20 hours with Singapore Airlines. What do I think? In one sentence, they are great in a few things, but disappointing in the other. Despite being quite robotic, I think cabin crew service is still better than other five-star carriers like Cath Pacific or EVA. The meal was great. However, I wouldn’t order it for breakfast. I got to give a plus to the book to cook service. It unlocks so many dishes. The seat was very generic, narrow, and didn’t have that much storage. And that is why I prefer the A380. Lastly, don’t get me started about the lounge. The Terminal 2 lounge has been described as school library vibes or premium dentist waiting area by my friends. It was definitely lacking when competitors like Japan Airlines or Cafe existed. I’m still grateful to be able to fly on this business class product and I look forward to their improvement. Thank you. [Music] Welcome to Fukquoka Airport. Thank you so much for following me on this long trip. In my next video, I’ll be traveling on a sleeper train in China that interestingly faces forward. See you there. Bye. [Music]
