Here , there are separate instructions to line up by time slot (the line location is different for each time slot) Since it’s 11 o’clock, I ’ll go to the 11 o’clock line (On the official website, reservations close at 9-10 o’clock, but 11 o’clock will be more comfortable, so I made a reservation for 11 o’clock) There are a lot of people even at 11 o’clock, so it must be this popular right now. I made a reservation for 11 o’clock, but it’s already 11:01 . I don’t know what time I can go in. They said there’s also a baggage check, so since it’s 11:01, I’ll check the record again to see what time I can go in. (When you make a reservation, you can choose between the east and west entrances, but if you’re taking the subway, it’s recommended to choose the east entrance.) (It’s so hot, and the baggage check is so slow, I’m annoyed even before entering +1) Now, I’m finally entering (Since you just have to scan the QR code, the entrance itself is easy) Now, let’s go in! (The time it took to enter from waiting in line was 30 minutes) It’s only April but it’s so hot. (If I came in the middle of summer, I’d be really annoyed even before entering.) (While waiting, I wondered, “Why is the baggage check so slow?”) They check drinks separately like this.. So you can only bring in drinks that fit in plastic bottles , and they take all the plastic bottles out of your bag and do some kind of ingredient test, and they put them in and out of the machine and all this takes a long time. There are those kinds of cans that aren’t plastic, like Cantata, right? Even this will be taken away . No , you can only bring water in a plastic bottle . (It would be better not to bring anything at all for the sake of everyone’s smooth entry.) (The person standing in front of me who had an entire bag of drinks bought at a convenience store taken away) In my opinion, if you have a reservation for 11 o’clock , you don’t have to come exactly at 11 o’clock . If you come and wait in line earlier than the time you reserved for yourself, you can quickly get in line within the group within the 11 o’clock time slot . The line is also incredibly long within that time slot, so it’s better to go a little early. (It takes an hour if you consider the time it takes to walk in line from the subway station.) The first thing you see as you enter is this huge wooden building (the ‘Grand Ring’ that broke the record for the largest wooden building in the world). It’s circular, and inside this circular shape are the Expo pavilions . You failed to reserve all the pavilions, right? Anyway, I couldn’t make reservations 2 months or 7 days in advance, and I went in 3 days in advance, but there were no reservations at all (I wonder if these people have no chance?) (The fact that you get the right to make reservations on-site 10 minutes after entering) They said that this can all be done through the app or website . Since it hasn’t been 10 minutes yet, I ‘ll try to make a reservation on-site in 10 minutes (It’s also because there are a lot of people, so reservations are tight) (The app and website are the worst, so it’s even harder) Based on my experience from theme parks, I searched hard and found (I made a reservation for the ocean-related pavilion ‘Blue Ocean Dome’ in 15 minutes). It’s a bit like a theme park , when you make a reservation for something (you have to cancel or use up that reservation to make another reservation), the biggest problem is that, like when I bought the ticket, this Osaka Expo website and app are really… crappy. Can I really say this ? This is the first time I’ve seen such a poorly made app and website . The website isn’t intuitive. You can see it when you go in, but it’s too complicated (If you make a reservation for a pavilion but fail, you have to start over from the beginning). There’s Universal Studios Japan nearby, and there’s Disney in Tokyo, and even if it’s not Disney or Universal (I wonder why they made the app and the official website so inconvenient), it’s so hard to make a reservation anyway (by the way, the ‘Blue Ocean Dome’ I reserved is not located). Here’s the problem. I can’t find the location of the ‘Blue Ocean Dome’. I reserved the ‘Blue Ocean Dome’, right? (I can’t find it even when I search for the location in both English and Korean on the app) So I’m having a mental breakdown right now… So I stopped two or three Japanese employees passing by and asked them, but they all said they didn’t know . It seems like the employees don’t really know what’s inside either. Everyone was like, ” Then one day , when I typed ‘Blue Ocean Dome’ in Japanese on the app, it came up . You have to search in Japanese to find it. If you’re going to do it like this, why even make an app? It ‘s useless for foreigners. Only Japanese people will know about it now . If this happens, (when the reservation time approaches but I don’t know the location and I’m worried) this Osaka Expo will say “there aren’t many people” and “it’ll be in the red” , but this is what it looks like on a weekday. There are really a lot of people. (Blue Ocean Dome) (I thought it would be blue just by looking at the name..) Let’s go back here and take a look . I walked around the Expo looking for the ‘Blue Ocean Dome’ , now (I ran out of energy for today in 30 minutes after entering) (Since it’s an ocean theme park, there’s this device in the waiting area!) (You can make another reservation 10 minutes after all reservations are filled) (I’m tired, but I have to move my fingers diligently to see at least one more) (An exhibition hall where you can watch dreamy videos related to the importance of the ocean) (This small screen in a huge space… ridiculous…) (Recommended ‘Blue Ocean Dome’) You’d better make another reservation. These days, when it comes to dome theaters, people just lie down and watch them.. Since there are many of these in theme parks… I feel like my eyes are going to fall out while making a reservation , which is worse than a neighborhood movie theater . Really (If you make one reservation, you can make another reservation 2 hours later at Disney) (Osaka Expo has a system where only one reservation is valid.) For example, if it’s 12pm now and you make a reservation for 8pm, you can’t make another reservation before 8pm. You have to cancel it or make the 8pm reservation. I have to use up my time… (I ended up having to reserve anything until 8 o’clock) (I have to make a reservation for an imminent reservation time and keep using up my time to be able to make multiple reservations) The times are also displayed very unfriendly, and on the app… Even if I make a time reservation , it’s gone very quickly (Osaka Expo seems to need urgent app improvement) Aren’t there too many complaints? I’ve been to many theme parks, and I don’t do this at my own theme park (I felt bad because I didn’t think they referred to any cases) Here is a Gundam . I heard this is the most worth seeing, but it’s a really huge Gundam . It has to be life-size, right? And here is the Gundam Pavilion . I’m really curious about this place.. (The Gundam Pavilion operates 100% by reservation only) (Is there a separate time slot for reservations?) I’ll definitely.. succeed in Gundam and go (The app says that reservations are full for today.. oh..) I’ll definitely succeed in making a reservation for Gundam so that I can go in. Anyway, I don’t think it’s possible to come to the Expo with the greed to see everything (Osaka Expo definitely requires advance planning and a lot of information) (You should actively utilize the lottery and reservations that are held 2 months, 7 days, and 3 days in advance. They say that if you turn on ‘Pokemon GO’ in a place where a photo zone is set up like that, you can catch rare Pokemon (at the Osaka Expo where even eating wasn’t easy). There’s also a ‘Sushiro’ here. I guess you can eat sushi too. Is it closed today? Today is all full. Reservations are full, sorry. It’s 1 o’clock now, 1 PM (all the number tickets are gone by 1 PM). It’s not easy to eat . I kind of expected it, but… If weekdays are like this, weekends will be no joke (visiting a food truck with relatively few people and fast turnover) I see that there’s kimchi yakisoba here, so I’m going to try it (surprised by the sudden Korean voice) I think they’re Korean (naturally starts ordering in Korean) (I wonder why Koreans are selling this here) (These people aren’t really interested in me) They put a little kimchi on top of the yakisoba, but the kimchi isn’t regular kimchi, it tastes a bit like stir-fried kimchi. (If you lower your expectations, your satisfaction will definitely go up) I haven’t experienced everything , so I don’t know everything, but I don’t think there’s anything as fun as Gundam . Since I like adventure and mystery , I wanted to go to Egypt someday, and there was an Egypt pavilion (the Egypt pavilion is a pavilion without reservations, so you have to wait 40 minutes to enter) (You watch a video in a room with screens on all sides) (A story showing the development of Egypt in the past, present, and future) It didn’t feel mysterious, so it was just okay. I really have a fantasy about Egypt. I really want to go to Egypt . There were so many good stories that I was actually a little scared to just go there . Going alone… That’s why it’s one of the countries I want to visit someday . (Does anyone know a good way to travel to Egypt?) (There are escalators going up the ‘Grand Ring’ here and there.) I’ll take the escalator up and walk around this ‘Grand Ring’. Okay, when you come up like this, you can see the Expo at a glance. The wooden buildings are really circular all the way to the end . Inside these circular structures are the Expo pavilions , which are huge. (We couldn’t go inside, but let’s take a look at the impressive exteriors of the pavilions.) In my opinion, the best way to promote a country at an Expo is to build an impressive pavilion. I think it’s important to build a very unique pavilion . And of course, the content inside is also important. If the exterior is really flashy but the content is n’t that great, word of mouth won’t spread among many people, right? And if you look to the left of the entrance for those coming by subway, there is a large lake-like thing (where nightly performances are held) (You also need to make a reservation to see this performance to get a good seat) You should check if you can see it without a reservation. And as a tip, it’s okay to get up to the ‘Grand Ring’, but be prepared to walk a lot when you get up there. (There are escalators that go down more rarely than you think) (If you miss the escalator, you end up walking in a circle for a long time) There are so many amazing places, but it’s a shame that you can’t experience them all. Regardless of whether you make a reservation or not, it’s on a scale that you can’t see everything in one day (A strange pavilion where the building itself keeps shaking) It’s bizarre and amazing (It looks like a giant speaker) (Poland Pavilion) You see that big door over there? A fountain show unfolds around that door (You need a reservation to see a good spot in the center) But if you come a little to the side, you can’t go inside like this… People who don’t make a reservation can stand and watch in this blocked area, so you don’t have to give up (As someone who has experience, I recommend making a reservation at the pavilion and watching the show like this) (Starts with a grandmother telling a story to her child) (A story that follows a boy’s adventure) (A performance about a rainbow that appears at night, ‘Under a Midnight Rainbow’) (As the title suggests, the highlight is the rainbow scene that appears at night) Such a night show at Disney Universal If you were really impressed by the fireworks and expect that level of quality or something like that, this night show might be a little disappointing. (The technology is flashy, but the impact is lacking.) (The unique calmness that you can see in Japanese theme parks was not my style.) So if you don’t have time , or if you want to see other pavilions better but the time is ambiguous , I recommend you pass or make a reservation for the pavilion.) (Korean Pavilion) (Simple, yet large-scale and flashy exterior.) Among the pavilions, there are pavilions that don’t get cancellations often, but the Korean Pavilion… doesn’t get cancellations often . I guess it’s popular. I’ll go in quickly. (As soon as we enter, each team enters one booth at a time.) Please choose a language. (A simple but profound question.) (Oddly enough, it was a difficult question for me.) (Nature) (Textbook-like answer.) What is this? What is this feeling that doesn’t seem Korean at all? (Inside Hall 1, filled with lights) (Light show with previously recorded words) (After the light show, moving to Hall 2, which has an even more mysterious feel) There is a strange… installation . If you blow into a pipe, drops fall from above (I couldn’t understand what this had to do with Korea even while experiencing it) (Hall 3 is about a girl, an old man, and music) And when you exit, there is a Korean restaurant and then… a shop . Let’s see what they sell. (Overall, they sell various Korean foods… Starting from 30,000 won) (They sell various goods that have a Korean feel) (While I was looking around, I had many questions about why this was the Korean pavilion) It just felt like content that could be seen even if it wasn’t the Korean pavilion (Why is this being done in the Korean pavilion?) I had that thought a bit (Aside from that, all three pavilions were neither fun nor interesting…) (Even though the guides asked us to applaud, no one clapped) (Everyone’s reaction was so cold that it was embarrassing) As a Korean (I want to only say positive things), to be honest, there wasn’t much worth saying… (I’m curious, but it wasn’t a pavilion that I would necessarily recommend) Since I worked at a theme park, I know how hard and tiring it is to create one attraction and one experience ( I want to say something good about it, but it was disappointing in many ways) I visited the Osaka Expo without making a reservation for a pavilion, but I had a fulfilling day at all five pavilions , including a night performance.
