Conquering Mt. LeConte in 2025, 100 Year Anniversary. First time via Rainbow Falls!!
Join me on my hike to Mt Leconte in the Great Smoky Mountains for the first time. The hike begins at the Rainbow Falls Trailhead on Cherokee Orchard Road in Gatlinburg. The trail meanders along a creek, crossing three bridges,
and ascends through lush forests. Approximately 2.6 miles in, you’ll reach Rainbow Falls, the tallest single-drop waterfall in the park. After the falls, the trail continues to Mount LeConte, passing through intersections with the Bullhead, Alum Cave, and Trillium Gap Trails. The summit offers panoramic views, with a notable viewpoints at Cliff Top.
If you’re looking for a hike that’ll challenge your legs, take your breath away (literally and figuratively), and reward you with views and experiences you won’t forget, Rainbow Falls to Mount LeConte is it.
