Sources say struggling Japanese automaker Nissan Motor is considering selling its headquarters to fund an overhaul of global operations. The building in Yokohama south of Tokyo is estimated to be worth 100 billion yen, or about 700 million dollars.

The company would likely continue using the building through a leasing agreement with the buyer.

Nissan moved from Tokyo’s Ginza district to Yokohama, where the automaker was founded, in 2009.

The automaker posted a net loss of more than 670 billion yen, or about 4.7 billion dollars, for the fiscal year that ended in March.

The company plans to slash its global workforce by 20,000 jobs and cut operations at seven plants by fiscal 2027.
