Serial number 66998 / Line Number 1181 was manufactured 2024, performed her first flight on March 20, the same year and was delivered on April 4 to All Nippon Airways on a ferry flight from Charleston (CHS) via Los Angeles (LAX) and Honolulu (HNL) to Tokyo (HND).

JA984A entered service on April 12, 2024 and is configured in the domestic seating layout of C28Y401.

The Boeing 787-10 is scheduled to replace the aging fleet of B 777, especially the B 777-300 on the domestic route network.
