The “Takikawa Canola Flower Festival,” where people can enjoy one of the best canola blossom fields in Japan, started in the city of Takikawa, Hokkaido, on May 17. Yellow carpets of the flower spreading across mainly the Ebeotsu district welcome visitors. Canola plants are grown generally in this district as part of “crop rotations,” where different crops are planted in turns. The festival will run until May 25.
