Trip to Osaka, Day2 : Osaka & Kobe | 2025 Japan Vlog
Good morning, guys!! I’m Hiro. Thank you for coming my Vlog. Today is the second day of my trip to Osaka.
First I visited Nakanoshima, one of the best business districts in Osaka. Nakanoshima has several retro buildings, which are designated as important cultural properties. Just as the museum was opening, I was able to enter! This Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library is an important cultural property that is actually used as a library. It is a neo-renaissance style building and a national important cultural property that survived the Osaka Air Raid. There is also a café and a reference room in the second floor, and the reference room is very informative with exhibits on Osaka’s transition. Rent a bike and go for a morning meal! I found a retro coffee shop and decided to take my morning coffee here. It is a calm space with a décor that evokes the Showa period. The morning set I ordered came. Sweet honey toast and bitter coffee go very well together. I have an appointment after noon and have some places to go before then, so I’m headed there! Next, we came to Osaka Castle, a place that cannot be missed when visiting Osaka. There are many cherry trees in Osaka Castle Park, and I was glad to come at the right time of year when they were in bloom. Now it is time to reach Osaka Castle. After entering Osaka Castle Park, it took about 10 minutes to walk to the plaza where Osaka Castle is located. Osaka Castle stands on a very fine stone wall. In this view, you can see that Osaka Castle is located quite high up. I’m gonna return from the opposite direction from which I came across the bridge. A sightseeing boat is passing by the moat, and it looks very pleasant. It is almost time for my appointment, so I decide to head back toward Umeda Station. Before heading to Kobe, where I have an appointment, I came to MUJI near Umeda Station. MUJI Coffee! This is what I came here for! MUJI Coffee is only available in Ginza and here, and I came here just as I was about to run out of coffee beans at home. I chose several coffees, including an Osaka blend that is exclusive to this store. Got it! Take the train to Sannomiya Station in Kobe. It is a short train ride of about 30 minutes to say goodbye to the city of Osaka. Made it!! I’m off to run an errand for a little while! The Vlog continues now that the work is done. I visited Meriken Park, a coastal plaza, at sunset. I am glad we made it in time for this beautiful time of sunset. Cherry blossoms are also blooming in Meriken Park, decorating the plaza. The atmosphere is very nice, with many people spending their time looking out at the sea at sunset. The BE KOBE monument, a famous photo spot in Kobe, is also located here in Meriken Park. Get a cup of coffee at Starbucks in this perfect location. When I go to a local Starbucks, I like to see products designed only for that area. There is also a second floor, so I’ll go there. The second floor offers a better view of the ocean. Let’s go outside and drink near the ocean. The scenery is changing rapidly at this time of the day. The night is already almost here when I notice it. It’s time to move on. Some kind of music started playing. Apparently, at night, a light and sound production
“KOBE Night Mirage -Sound and Light Show-” is held. The Kobe Port Museum is a multi-purpose facility that features an aquarium, a food court, and a bridal desk. A new landmark in Kobe’s waterfront area where visitors can experience new culture and food. There is a food court that looks a bit like a more casual version of the Time Out Market in Osaka that we visited yesterday. On the upper floor is a compact aquarium, with an aquarium tank on the ceiling of the bar counter. The last place I visited today was a hot spring facility called ‘Ren’, which I also visited yesterday in Osaka. This Ren is also in a very nice location, and after taking a bath, you can enjoy a meal while admiring the night view of Kobe. You will also be offered a welcome drink, but this time I will not drink alcohol because I have to drive afterwards. I ordered curry udon! After relaxing in the hot spring, the udon noodles are exceptional to eat at a window seat with a beautiful night view!! I spent a very meaningful time sightseeing in Osaka and Kobe on this trip. Thanks for watching the video so far! See you next video!!

You don’t always have to be alone.
Meeting locals is the best ways to experience the culture firsthand.
When traveling to Osaka, I recommend joining one of my meetup events.
It’s a rare opportunity to meet and talk to locals in English.
