Osaka, Japan– The India Pavilion, known as Bharat, at Expo 2025 in Osaka is drawing crowds with a dynamic showcase of the country’s rich cultural heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and cutting-edge innovations. The pavilion has quickly become a major attraction, offering visitors a vibrant, immersive experience that reflects India’s identity as a modern nation rooted in ancient traditions.

Visitors to the pavilion were treated to a diverse range of experiences on Tuesday, from a serene yoga session highlighting India’s timeless wellness practices to interactive displays on textile artistry and space exploration. The pavilion also celebrated the essence of Northeast India with an engaging presentation on the art, music, and culture of Meghalaya, along with a demonstration of its unique black clay pottery.

One of the major highlights continues to be the “Ahimsa Silk” from Meghalaya—an eco-friendly, cruelty-free silk that reflects sustainable fashion practices. Equally popular is the Chandrayaan Zone, which captures India’s historic lunar mission and showcases its growing capabilities in space exploration.

In a post on social media platform X, the Indian Embassy in Japan noted, “Ahimsa Silk of Meghalaya, with its eco-friendly charm, and the Chandrayaan Zone, demonstrating India’s space capabilities, continue to inspire visitors of all ages at the India Pavilion–Bharat, World Expo 2025, Osaka.”

Cultural performances also took center stage, with a spellbinding musical presentation by Nadateertha, a troupe from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Their performance at the North Pop-up Stage blended traditional rhythm, music, and storytelling, offering audiences a glimpse into India’s vast and diverse artistic traditions.

Earlier in the week, visitors thronged an interactive session dedicated to Meghalaya’s vibrant textiles, gaining insights into traditional weaving techniques and the cultural narratives embedded in each fabric.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal celebrated the pavilion’s success in a post on X, stating, “The India Pavilion–Bharat, at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, is a remarkable representation of India’s cultural richness and commercial successes. Today, it welcomed its 5,000th visitor. This space is a stunning display of India’s growing international presence and the giant strides the country has made over the last decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.”

Minister Goyal also highlighted how the pavilion is promoting India’s achievements across sectors, including space technology, infrastructure, energy, information technology, healthcare, and tourism. Key national initiatives such as Make in India and Digital India are featured prominently, reinforcing the country’s global vision.

As Expo 2025 continues over the coming months, the India Pavilion is expected to remain a hub of cultural diplomacy and economic opportunity, strengthening India’s image as a global leader blending tradition with transformation. (Source: IANS)
