Exploring Nagasaki: Peace Park, Historic Charm, and Skyline Views!
Nagasaki [Applause] [Music] [Applause] King. We’re up on the platform. We’re going to Nagasaki today. So, just so there’s a heads up, on each platform in uh Hakata station, you can see there’s either noodles or there’s a family mart. So, if you come up here and you forget food, don’t worry. The platform will have everything you need. We are on our way to make a froma. So, you just have to go and um buy some tickets to the JR or get the JR pass and um you just do one transfer so it’s not so bad at the the walls. So, I’ll video that cuz I think you just walk across a platform and then it works really well. It’s only an hour and a half journey, which is not bad at all. Beautiful. Like, look at the mountains. We’re about to go through the Sega Prefecture. And then if you do get the tickets, just stick them in the little slot up here cuz then the guy, well, he was super happy we did that. Probably because he didn’t have to talk to us then. [Music] to switch the trains. I’m going to show you guys how to do it. We will soon be arriving at passengers for the KO Super Express. Please change trains at the next station to the KO Super Express will depart from the same platform. So, same platform. So, I’m assuming we just walked to two over there. So now the key is to find a seat. [Music] 38 minutes on uh this one and then we’re in Nasaki. Very easy, very smooth. Time for another breakfast beer. We’re at the station. Oh, there’s a station there at the peace park. Yeah, let’s go there. We get to go to this uh peace park. So in line 1 43 to get to the peace park. So we’re going to start there. The plan is to go to Chinatown for lunch. Maybe check out the Dutch area with the cobblestone streets and the ropeway. Wow, this is cool. Look at how we do it. Yeah, it’s very pretty. Very, very pretty here. [Music] [Music] Off to the Nagasaki Peace Park we go. Just boom boom boom. Super easy. That’s one thing you never need to stress about Japan is how the transportation works. [Music] Wow. Here’s the statue. See? Yes. And there’s a washroom right beside it. Beautiful. As you can see, the statue behind me represents what happened here in Nagasaki. The hand to the sky is to remember above the atomic bomb and the one to the left is to remember peace forever. [Music] Lots of school field trips today. This black monith represents the hypo center of where the big boy bomb was dropped. August 9th, 1945 at 11:04 a.m., We are here at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. Opening hours are museum are 8:30 till 17:30. Last entry 1700 made to August 8:30 to 18:30. Last entry 1800 closed December 29th to 31st. Uh I will not be filming inside. So there’s your info. So, we have left the museum heavy hearts. But now we’re going to Chinatown because we really want to eat some Shaolong Bao because I always crave Shaolang Bao. Oo, there’s a ferris wheel thing. So, we got in a taxi. [Music] made it over to Chinatown, Nagasaki. So, this is very interesting because Japan was closed off to the world for 200 years and Nagasaki was the only area that was open. So, they have a lot of different influences, which is why this Chinatown is so awesome. And they were influenced by the Portuguese and the Dutch as well. 200 years closed off. It’s crazy. It was like 1650 to 1850 somewhere in there. Couple years around that. [Music] [Music] So, we came for a shaolong bow. And we have dand noodles, a few boiled dumplings, and shaang ba. Very excited. This is a Taiwanese restaurant in Nagasaki. And I’ll show you quickly what it looks like. Oh yeah, this looks good. [Music] I don’t know. See the turtle? Look at that. [Music] Now we’re off. We’re taking the number five over to the Dutch slopes from the river. So when Nagasaki opened back up in the late 1850s, whole bunch of foreigners internationally came in here and moved Hollander Slope. Let’s go check this place out. Cool. Oh yeah, it’s like Dutch stairs. Totally straight up. [Music] Woo. We are leaving the Dutch slopes. Truly, all it is is some really cool architecture and an old ancient area that people used to live [Music] in. And then we jumped off the trim and now we’re on a bus ropeway. [Music] So, round trip [Music] 12:50 ropeway time. [Music] Oh, no. [Music] Thank you for using the Nagasaki ropeway today. Please enjoy your 1,100 m long 5-minute trip through the sky to the 333 m peak of Mount Inasa which is equal to the height of Tokyo Tower. This gondola was designed by the world famous industrial designer who is also designer for Ferrari and the Hokor. Furthermore, the night view from Nagasaki was designated together with Monica and Shanghai as one of the top three night views in the world on 2021. The rumbling of the city. Sure. Nice up [Music] here. If you want to use these, it’s about 100 yen. [Music] The deserted island is out there. I don’t not see it. See a picture saying
