Sakurajima volcano can be reached via Sanyo/Kyushu Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka Station (4 hour train ride to Kagoshima Chuo Station, 💴23,600 yen one way or free if you have a JR pass[50,000 yen for the regular Japan wide pass]). 🚅

You can also fly in Kagoshima International Airport. But watch out for the random volcanic eruptions as these can disrupt and ground flights. 🛫
