沖縄本島北部、東シナ海に面した今帰仁村（なきじんそん）は、古き良き沖縄の風景が今も残るのどかな村です。
人口は約9,000人ほど（※2023年時点）で、美しい海と緑豊かな山々に囲まれ、観光客にとっては癒やしの場所として人気を集めています。

この地の歴史は古く、14世紀ごろには北山王（ほくざんおう）が統治していたとされ、
今も村のシンボルとして残る「今帰仁城跡（なきじんじょうあと）」は、琉球（りゅうきゅう）王国以前のグスク（城）の遺構として貴重な文化財です。
城跡は世界遺産にも登録されており、毎年1月から2月には「桜まつり」が開催され、日本一早い桜が咲き誇る絶景スポットとしても知られています。
ジャングリアもでき、ますます注目のエリアです。

グルメも今帰仁村の魅力のひとつ。
地元で水揚げされる新鮮な魚介類や、沖縄県産の黒毛和牛「もとぶ牛」、そして「島らっきょう」や「アグー豚」など、
素材の味を活かした料理が堪能できます。特に海沿いの食堂では、地元の人が通う隠れた名店が点在し、沖縄そばや海鮮丼が人気です。

アクセスは那覇空港から車で約1時間半〜2時間。
沖縄自動車道を経由して名護（なご）市を抜け、さらに国道505号線を北上すれば今帰仁村に到着します。
路線バスも利用可能ですが、観光するにはレンタカーが便利です。
また、近年は高級リゾートやグランピング施設も増えており、観光地化されすぎていない“静かな贅沢”を味わえる場所として注目されています。
すぐ近くには古宇利島や備瀬（びせ）のフクギ並木などもあり、自然と歴史、グルメが融合した“大人の穴場旅行”にぴったりのエリアです。

まだまだ昔のままの沖縄が残るまさに一生に一度は行くべき大人の穴場旅行先！
