3 days in Osaka Japan – shopping, food, hotels

So, we are officially here in Osaka. The first thing we’re going to do is go upstairs and find the train. This is the Kai airport station. We’ll be taking the Manankai station headed towards Namba. So, we just got up Namba station and we’re about to walk around 15 minutes to our hotel. So, we’ll take you there, give you a little hotel tour, and as we’re on the way, we’ll show you kind of what the destination, what the journey looks like. Hello. Oh, yeah. Thank you. So, let’s go and find our room. All right. So, here we are. This is the 10th floor. Let me give you a little tour now. We have just enough space to fill our three luggages right here. But yeah, as you can see, the tour is already finished. We just have the bed right here. Have a little work desk area. And that is pretty much it. And we also have a pretty nice size TV. And here is the front entrance area. Let me show you the restroom. It’s not big at all, but honestly, it does the job. Got a shower head, and we could even take a bath here if we wanted to. So, this hotel is Apa Hotel Namba Minami Ebu Susho Eki. And the price for one night is $12,400 yen, which roughly translates to around $86.90. That is pretty expensive to be honest, for one night. And the checkout is 10:00 a.m. Doesn’t include breakfast or anything, but we’re in a good location. And we’re also in Osaka at one of the most touristy heavy times of the year, which is around April. So, wow. Here we are. This feels a lot like Hungai. So, we are here at Doton Buri, Donbur Buri, however you pronounce it. But man, this place looks awesome. Got all these different restaurants, arcades. This is where Round One Stadium is. This is a huge sports recreational entertainment place that’s 24 hours. We have the famous coin right here. This is the coin snack. Thank you. Thank you. Let’s try. So inside it’s like octopus. You have to be careful. It’s very hot. My god. It’s hot. Wow, this is absolutely crazy though. So many people. Oh, here it is. This is the world famous. Just take a look at our surroundings. This area is actually very very huge. We’re actually located on a bridge. And as you can see, there’s like a canal right here. And they have these like infamous signs. It says no diving cuz a lot of people actually dive down here. It’s like a tradition. So maybe I’ll get lucky. I’ll, you know, win this one tonight. The total came out to 3,000 yen. So that’s around like $20ish. Now, just right quick, I want to talk about the luggage I got from Level 8, which is the sponsor of this video. Now, I’ve been traveling all over Japan, and this bag has just been an absolute gamecher. First off, it just looks good. They have a bunch of different colorways and styles on their website you can choose from. There’s only one main zipper which makes it easy to access your things as well as inner pockets for small items like your passport or charger. And the wheels are dead silent and they’re just like buttery smooth. Like just one little tug and it glides like effortlessly. And this is one of the most important things especially if you travel a lot. A lot of times you’ll be on bumpy roads or rough surfaces and it’s just a such a hassle to try to carry your heavy luggage all around. So the wheels are probably the most important feature of a luggage. And another feature I like is this unique design of the handles of how wide it is. So you can lay your arm on it and it supports some of your weight, which makes your travels just that much better. And its entire design is intentional to maximize space while also being very super lightweight. So if you travel a lot and want a bag that’s just super reliable and built well and looks clean, then I highly recommend Level 8. You can also get 10% off using my code Paul Lee 10. I’ll have the link in the description. Oh, maybe I How are you? Enjoy your bloating. Hey, hey, hey. It is currently 1:00 p.m. We got our first meal. We just went to Lawson. I got this like kimchi chig. It’s like a Japanese version. And then I got this hamburg steak and karag with rice. What did you get? Um like a pickled vegetable. Not pickle. It’s a vegetable with dip with salt like this. You you have to drip and eat. And oni. Yeah. Dip like this and then M. It’s good. Mhm. All right, let’s try this Japanese version of kimchi chig. Wow. Check that out. Let’s try it out. Got like some pork in here. Some kimchi. Not the same as Korean style, but wow. Very good. Wow. This is oniili, I guess. So, have egg and rice. Smell like ketchup. There’s something on the inside. It’s got sauce inside, but I don’t know what’s you know. It’s like a American fire rice. Oh, yeah. M. So good. Look at the sauce. All right. Now, let’s try the karag and steak. All right. Check it out. We have two pieces of karag and then this fat piece of steak right here. Hamburg steak. Let’s try the hamburg steak first. And we have some spaghetti noodles. M I mean very high quality. Good, right? Oh, it’s so good. Let’s try the karag is not that crispy. I give the karag maybe 6 out of 10, but the steak is like eight out of 10. All right, we’re headed to Matsukio. Going to get some health and beauty products. Let’s see what else they have here. So, as you can see, they have a ton of different stuff from healthc care to beauty to supplements. Wow, they even have Picari sweats in this little pouch. So, they have these pods. This actually looks like a vape, but there’s no nicotine in here. So, you just kind of huff it and I don’t know if it has any effects, but this is a vape without nicotine. Kind of seems pointless to be honest, but all right, let’s check out some of these supplements. So, Japan is known for their very simple and affordable supplements here. And of course, they have a lot of healthcare products like patches like these are very famous here. And they also have these very famous eye drops here. Like unlike all the other parts of the world, the eye drops here are kind of like mentholy. They’re icy, so it has a really cooling effect and it kind of wakes you up. And this picture accurately describes how it feels. I highly recommend it if you’re feeling drowsy or sleepy or you feel like you have tired eyes. This thing wakes you up very well. And it’s only How much is it? It’s only 200 yen, which is insane. Highly recommend this. And then we also have these kind of interesting. I’m a bit skeptical these products right here. They apparently burn fat. So apparently there’s a lot of good reviews for them, too. Today I buy many eye drop. It’s called eye drop. So this one is very cool. You see we cannot open the back because taxi. So we cannot use in Japan. So if you want taki, you will have to pay around 5,500 yen. We’re going to try this popular spot. They’ve got some cheese tarts. Chocolate water. All right, let’s try. M. Sweet. A little bit sour because they have cream cheese inside. So good. And I got the cream brulee. Oh, look at that. Nicely burnt. Wow. All right. So, it’s about 7:00 p.m. We just checked into our hotel and we are current currently in the neighborhood of Umeda. So, we’re just going to walk around here and explore what we can eat. So, currently we are on the Tenjan Bashi Suji Street. It seems a lot quieter and a lot more peaceful than the other similar looking roads we were in at Datanbury earlier. Wow. Interesting design for a sake. I believe this place looks really, really good. And it’s only 1,50 yen. It’s actually a pretty good deal. Well, that was also a failure because uh they don’t accept credit card and we only have like a,000 yen. Just a reminder, you should have a couple thousand yen, I think. All right. So, I just uh exchanged $50 into around 6,440 yen. Paid around 700 yen in currency exchange fees, which is like $5. Not too bad. So, we got free kimchi here is the main seller right here. Free kimchi unlimited. So, we’re trying to find a cafe right now to do a little bit of work. And it’s actually harder than it seems. We’ve been walking for like 10 minutes. We haven’t seen any. Wow, this is definitely an upgrade from the APA hotels we’ve been staying at. Wow, we even got uh some pajamas. Got two separate beds, but we could actually just push them together, too. Nice. Let’s see the view. We’re on the 13th floor. Oh, man. Actually, very high. Wow. You can see the whole city. And we got the bathroom right here. We got a full size full size bathtub as well as the shower. And then the restroom is kind of outside here, the sink area. And next to the bathroom, we have our toilet room. Wow. That is very, very luxurious. I’m not going to lie, this hotel is very, very expensive, especially during peak season. The cost of this hotel was around 40,000 44,000 yen. That’s that’s around $300ish. Pretty expensive, but you know, every now and then you can splurge a little bit. Wow. So good. We just got done eating. It was only around 4,330 yen, which is actually, in my understanding, is very good deal. We’re located right at here at Dtonbury. So, I highly recommend that place. I was expecting like $50 or so, but yeah, around $30. Not too bad. Wow. This is actually crazy to see like the minute we got on this train, it was not even until like 20 seconds it just started leaving. So, you have to be exactly on time. You can’t be a minute late. You can’t be 30 seconds late. They will leave.

  1. Hi Paul, just a little tip / some advice: it is considered very rude and disrespectful in Japan to film people in public areas without their permission (meiwaku). I would at least advise blurring out people's faces as a common courtesy. Thanks!
