⁴ᴷ Toyama: Uozu Station (富山県: 魚津駅) – Japan Walking Tour (May, 2025)
Last month, I took a break from long-distance travel, but with the weather warming up, I decided to head toward the Noto Peninsula on the Sea of Japan side this month.
This time, I traveled from Niigata Prefecture to Toyama Prefecture and visited the city of Uozu. I was drawn to the area after watching the film Aristocrats, where Kiko Mizuhara’s character, Miki Tokioka, returns to her hometown and gets off the train at Uozu Station. The scenery in that scene left a lasting impression on me and inspired this visit.
In front of Uozu Station, there’s a small nightlife district—not too small, though, as there’s even an information center. The shopping street that runs along the gentle slope from the station also has a calm and inviting atmosphere.
About a kilometer away, near Dentetsu-Uozu Station, there’s another shopping street with a covered arcade along the sidewalk. Since I visited at night, the mood might be hard to capture in footage, but it had a charming and nostalgic vibe.
