If you think that settling abroad in a ‘pretty country’ will change your life and eliminate your stress- you might want to take a look at this Japanese worker’s ‘POV’- which seemingly left the internet horrified for all the obvious reasons. If this poor man is to be believed- ‘overworking’ isn’t just limited to India! The man- allegedly a ‘salaryman at a black company’ in Japan- gave a glimpse of his ‘18-hour day’ schedule on social media. For those wondering, ‘black companies’ in Japan are reportedly referred to organisations where the ‘treatment’ of workers is not exactly a priority. As per the man’s viral video, his day began at 7 AM in the morning. The man then took the viewers for a ‘90-minute’ commute with him- where he claimed that such long commutes are common in major cities like Tokyo and Osaka. After reaching the office at 9 AM, the ‘salaryman’ allegedly worked till 1:00 PM- after which he took a break for lunch. The man then resumed his work at 2:00 PM and continued till 8:00 PM in the evening! The employee finally reached home after yet another long journey, cooked his meal and finally ended the day at 1:15 AM in the morning. The post, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most sympathised with the man, while some called the schedule ‘relatable’. Many also expressed their disappointment over the ‘increasing work pressure’ among the working population all around the world. The video was also quick to trigger debates on issues like ‘workplace toxicity’ and ‘misuse of labour laws’.

Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post.

“A Day in the Life: Salaryman at a Black Company,” the post read.

The post was shared on YouTube by the handle ‘Salaryman Tokyo’. The video was shared a while back and pulled more than a million views from people.

“Humans were never supposed to live like this,” a user said. “Now, I understand why most anime are based on high school. It was the last time when you’re free,” added a second person in the comment section.

“This is what I like to see on youtube. Authentic, pure and genuine content. Not those fake happy stuff the algorithm makes you swallow down on your throat,” commented a third person. “This is just very sad,” added another.

“Thank you for making this. I’ve been having a problem lately with burnout and this feeling of a soul sucking repetitive cycle. This puts it in perspective that it’s a universal feeling. Keep your head up friend. One thing at a time, one day at a time,” added another.
