Puglia is the protagonist of the
week dedicated to the southern Italian region at Expo 2025
Osaka, with the Department of agriculture, rural and
environmental development promoting the quality of agrifood
products and the regional food and wine culture at an
international level.

Local excellence is represented at Expo by products adhering to
the collective mark ‘Products of Quality – Guaranteed Quality of
the Puglia Region’ and those with DOP (protected designation of
origin), IGP (protected geographical indication) and Biological
certifications.

Visitors have been offered the possibility of discovering the
authentic flavours of Puglia through tastings and the
fascinating explanations of Puglia’s Chef Peppe Zullo.

“Simple food for smart people.

“This is the simplest – mozzarella, tomato, fresh basil and
olive oil”, Zullo said during one of the tastings of the week,
when he also showed visitors how to prepare Puglia’s typical
‘orecchiette’ pasta dish.

“Simple, healthy and so beautiful”, food is “an Italian
miracle”, added the Chef.

Particular attention has been devoted to the promotion of a few
typical products of the region, such as Puglia’s burrata and
mozzarella cheeses, known for their freshness and quality, extra
virgin olive oil, appreciated for its intense and natural
flavour, as well as white, red and rosé wines which represent
the perfection of Puglia’s viticulture.

The strategic nature of this event will help strengthen the
position of Puglia’s agrifood companies in the global market and
create new opportunities for the internationalization of
products of quality.

Puglia thus strengthens its position as an ideal tourist
destination for those who want to discover a region rich in
history, culinary culture and beauty.

A conquest of the heart and palate which invites visitors to
deepen their knowledge of the region, exploring natural
landscapes, historic cities, beaches and hamlets, and
discovering the rich local food and wine offerings.

In this way, the event in Osaka becomes an occasion to not only
promote the typical products of Puglia but also the region as a
whole, offering visitors a unique and unforgettable experience.
