【フェリー旅】就航○○年目のベテランさんふらわあに乗船!!「さんふらわあ ぱーる」で大分→神戸 11時間の船旅【旅行】
Yes, hello. This is TOMONI JAPAN.On this channel, we mainly deliver the charm of unusual trips around Japan, mainly by boat trips. In this video, we will take a spring cruise from here to Kobe on the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Sunflower Pearl.By the way, this video is a continuation of the “Sunflower Murasaki” video released last week, so please be sure to check out the first part, “Sunflower Murasaki”. Please also take a look at “Murasaki” , where I am now, from JR Oita Station, walk to Oita Port. Of course, you can also take a bus to Oita Port, but since there is still plenty of time until boarding time, I think I’ll walk. From here to Oita Port, it’s about a 30 minute walk. The road to Oita Port looks like it’s going through a residential area, so it looks a little plain in the video, but as you get closer to the port, you can feel the gentle sea breeze. I get excited and think, “Oh, the ship is near!” I use Google Maps for directions, but you can just follow the map on your smartphone, so even if you have no sense of direction , you can safely reach Oita Port. Right in front of Oita Port, where Pearl is anchored , you can see the sight of Sunflower Pearl, which will take care of you on this cruise. The large mouth that opens to bring in vehicles such as trucks has a great impact even from a distance. This Sunflower Pearl entered service in 2008, about 17 years ago, with a total length of 165.5 meters. It weighs 11,177 tons, has a passenger capacity of 748 people, can accommodate up to 147 trucks, and 75 passenger cars, making it truly a gigantic, moving hotel.Perhaps because there is still time before departure, there are not many people at this time, and the atmosphere is quiet and calm. It’s the perfect time to take a leisurely walk around the Masu Ferry, or take videos or photos like I did.On the hull of the ship is Sunflower’s familiar large sun logo, which also has a great impact.Sunflower Pearl’s departure will be approximately 4 hours from now, and we will spend the night on this ship, taking an 11-hour journey to Kobe Port . Just thinking about looking at the night sea and morning sea from the observation deck, and walking around the ship is exciting. Let’s go inside the terminal. The current time is 3:30 p.m., and boarding is scheduled to be around 6:20, so the inside of the terminal is still empty. The reception counter is right next to the inside of the terminal, but there was almost no one there other than the staff, and I was a little worried about how quiet it was. (lol) The reception counter is on the first floor of the terminal, and the waiting room is on the second floor. Let’s go up the stairs and head to the waiting room on the second floor. The waiting room on the second floor is very spacious, and although it is a bit of an old building, it is very clean. There is also a corner with Sunflower leaflets in the waiting room, It will gradually make you feel like, “Oh, I’m going to board the ferry.” There are plenty of chairs, so it’s perfect for people like me who come early and wait leisurely for boarding time. By the way, the only facilities are a vending machine corner and a smoking room, so there are no shops or anything like that, so some people may need to be careful. However , there is a drugstore right next to this terminal, so if you need anything, you can buy it there.By the way, this waiting room is made of glass, so it gets a lot of light, and there is a sunflower outside. The great thing about Pearl is that you can see it clearly, although it’s very quiet at this time. I didn’t know yet that it would be full of people in a few hours, so let’s enjoy the relaxing and quiet Oita Port Ferry Terminal now.Time passed quickly, and it was finally time to board the ship.As if the silence from earlier was a lie, the inside of the terminal was extremely crowded.Spring break power, no doubt… Students, families, and people with travel bags in tow. Even though it’s lively and lively, there’s a strange atmosphere in which everyone is excited, and that’s what’s nice about it.It feels like the trip is about to begin, and it feels a little like a theme park (lol).Show your ticket to the staff and go through the boarding gate.Cross the short connecting bridge and head to Sunflower Apart, where you’ll board the ship.Once inside the ship, you’ll first head to the room you booked for this time, Tourist. On the way to the room, As we pass through the entrance hall and promenade, I really want to take a walk around the ship right away, but I decided to hold back and head to my room.We arrived at the room we had booked for this time. For this cruise, we will be using this large room, 5805.We went inside right away. Let’s take a look. This tourist room is a so-called small-sized room, but it has separate personal spaces and is more comfortable than you might think. This large room can accommodate up to 9 people. For this cruise, we will be using space number 4. Now let ‘s take a look at the usual room introduction on the channel. The mattress is a slightly thin mattress with the Sunflower logo on it.The pillows are thick enough. The only other things that can be used are sheets and a comforter. There are two hangers for each person, and the space above is for storing luggage. The backpack I’m using at this time is a large backpack that can hold 40 liters, but it’s big enough to fit that backpack. One thing to note is that the outlet is not a regular outlet. Since it is a USB terminal, I think you need to be careful. So, I successfully made the bed . There is only a small curtain on the partition, but it doesn’t seem to bother me even if someone comes next to me. Some people may be worried that it might not arrive quickly, but personally I don’t think it’s possible at all.By the way, there is an air purifier in the large room this time, so it is a perfect countermeasure against odors. Now that you have finished checking the room, let’s move on. Yes, it’s time to enjoy a walk on the ship. Sunflower Pal is a slightly older ferry, but it underwent renovations such as renovating the public spaces last year in 2024, so you don’t really notice it’s old while riding on it. The passenger area is from the 5th floor to the 7th floor. The entrance hall on the 5th and 6th floors has a high ceiling with an atrium, a staircase with a clean design , and a stylish and refined atmosphere. There is an information desk next to this entrance hall, but there is an onboard shop in the space next to it.By the way, the information desk has information on the weather and public baths. Now , let’s go inside the onboard shop.It ‘s pretty well stocked. Of course we sell drinks and sweets, but we also sell daily necessities that you might want while traveling, as well as Sunflower’s original goods. There ‘s only one thing I absolutely buy on a cruise, but do you know anything about it? I think the viewers who have watched my videos many times already understand this, but what you are purchasing is this Mifune Seal. I was able to purchase it safely at the counter of the ship’s shop . Although I don’t think it will ever sell out, it seems that there is a limited quantity, so I recommend purchasing it early. There is also a vending machine corner next to the ship’s shop, where you can buy drinks, ice cream, and more. You can also purchase Cup Noodles to accompany your cruise at this vending machine corner.Since the opening hours of the ship’s shops are quite sparse, having a vending machine like this that you can buy at any time is very convenient. In addition, it is popular among parents with babies on board. There is also a kids’ room, so you don’t have to worry about it. And of course, there is also the game corner, which is becoming familiar when you think of ferries. The game corner at Sunflower Apart is very spacious compared to other ferries, and there are slot machines and a UFO catcher, so there is a wide range of options. I think people of all ages can enjoy it.If you go further inside, you’ll see this restaurant.I’ll introduce the restaurant later.Of course, there’s a large public bath, which is essential for a cruise, and a massage chair, so don’t worry.By the way, the usage fee for the massage chair is per 15 minutes. The fee is 200 yen. There is also a coin-returnable locker with a key, so you can safely manage your valuables. Now then, let’s go out from inside the ship to the observation deck. When I went out to the observation deck, I saw that there were more people than I expected, anxiously awaiting the moment of departure.Spring I was a little surprised that the night wind was stronger than I expected, but it really enhanced the feeling of being on a journey. It’s a little dark and hard to see, but there are some benches on the observation deck, so you can sit and watch the boat depart . Pearl has observation decks on the 6th and 7th floors, with a large red fandel towering in the center. On the 5th floor deck, there are the ship’s equipment, but unfortunately we, the general public, are not allowed to enter there.I can only see the staff working there, and I am truly grateful.Thank you as always! From the observation deck, you can get a perfect view of Oita Port. It’s a bit difficult to see because it’s night, but the port and city lights still look fantastic. As I was enjoying the observation deck for a while, I heard the low roar of an engine and the ship slowly began to move. That’s right, we’re leaving Oita Port! The 11-hour boat trip, which begins with the night breeze, is finally beginning! I can’t help but feel like I’m saying the same thing every time, but I can’t help but get excited at the moment of departure! So, please enjoy watching the departure from Oita Port.I hope you enjoyed watching the departure.I would be very happy if you could enjoy a little bit of the cruise through the video.Although it was spring, I was getting cold little by little due to the night breeze, so I decided to go back to the ship.I was getting hungry, so I went through the promenade and went to the restaurant. I think I’m going to head over to the restaurant. It was very crowded until a while ago, but it seems like it’s getting pretty empty. I bought a ticket from the touch panel ticket machine and went inside the restaurant. By the way, the price is 2,000 yen per adult. I can’t say that the inside of the restaurant is empty, but there seem to be seats available here and there. Thanks to all of you, we were able to secure a slightly more spacious seat. The restaurant at Sunflower Parle is a buffet style restaurant, so let’s go get some food right away. The first dish you see at the buffet is the roast pork, and the Oita Prefecture specialty, ryukyu, as well as a wide variety of other dishes that you’d expect from a Sunflower buffet. There is a wide range of food from Western to Japanese food, making it a reliable lineup where anyone can find something they want to eat.Of course, there is also a drink corner, where you can drink all-you-can-drink soft drinks, but please note that only alcohol is charged separately. In addition, there is a dessert corner, which is very well stocked . That’s all I can say , and I was able to finish the dish without any problems. The brown color stands out, but since it’s already a buffet, I’d be happy if you could just close your eyes (lol) By the way, the disposable chopsticks are Sunflower style. Well then, I’ll eat it.Thank you for the meal. All of the dishes were very delicious, but especially the Oita prefecture specialty “Ryukyu”.It was very delicious.I would like to eat it again.I didn’t just return the tableware and leave the restaurant. Let’s go get dessert for week 2! So, I got the dessert safely . I don’t have any words to say (lol) I’ll eat it . Thank you for the meal. My stomach is full . I always gain a little weight after a cruise, but this time too, I’m a little scared to weigh myself when I get home … No, I want to convey as much of the charm of a cruise to the viewers as possible, so the Vikings eat a lot every time (lol) After making excuses like that, I went to the onboard shop and bought a late-night snack of carbonated water and sweets. I must have been full, but for some reason I just wanted to eat sweets and carbonated water. After purchasing the snacks , there was a small space in front of the observation deck at the back of the 6th floor, so I thought I’d take a moment to relax there . Romenade is very crowded, but there aren’t many people in this space, so it’s a little-known spot. Before I knew it, a lot of time had passed, so I went to the public bath on the 6th floor. Unfortunately , you can’t take pictures inside, so please be aware of that. Now, let’s head to the public bath! So, I finished taking a bath.It was a coincidental timing, but the lights started turning off just as I finished taking a bath.It was a really nice bath, so I actually wanted to introduce the bath using images from the official website as usual, but unfortunately, there was only one photo of the bath on the official website, so I decided not to introduce that kind of thing this time , so I went back to my room, but I was already there . The lights in the room had been turned off, and it was pitch black. In the end, six people were using this large room, so let’s head to our own space so as not to wake the others. Well then, thank you for your hard work today. Excuse me , yes, good morning. The time is 5:50 a.m., and we have about 50 minutes left to arrive at Kobe Port.Although it is early in the morning, there are more people than I expected on the morning boat trip here at Fromnard. I can see that they are having fun.The restaurant has already started serving breakfast, but I’m not really hungry yet, so I’m thinking of refraining from going to the restaurant for a while. So , I headed to the 6th floor to check out the exhibition. Let’s go out to the observation deck. The sun hasn’t fully risen yet, and it’s still a little cold. This channel started last December, so this will be our first spring cruise, but as expected, the sun rises a little earlier in the spring. As a night owl, it’s a little difficult for me (lol). I’ve been practicing waking up early to become a morning person, but it seems that I’m genetically predetermined to be a morning person and a night owl, so I’m starting to give up on becoming a morning person (Tomoni) at this age. (LOL) I’m off topic a little bit, but let’s enjoy the morning scenery while looking at the red funnel.I guess it’s because we’re sailing in the Seto Inland Sea, so the waves are very calm and there’s almost no shaking, so it’s a very comfortable cruise. It ‘s a little farther back, but you can see the waves. I think you can understand that this is only after Sunflower Pearl has passed by.I was enjoying the morning atmosphere on the observation deck for a while, but I think it’s time to clean up my room and organize my luggage, so I think I’ll go back to the inside of the ship.It ‘s currently 6 o’clock. It’s only been a little while, but I get the impression that there are a little more people on the promenade than before. Now that I’ve finished cleaning up my room and organizing my luggage, I think I’ll enjoy the view of the horizon from here on the promenade. It’ll take about 10 minutes. I was enjoying the view of the Promenade horizon, but it seemed like the city of Kobe was approaching little by little, so I went back to the observation deck once more . As expected, I saw a red crane in the distance at Kobe Port, one of the largest ports in Japan . It was called a gantry crane, and it was carrying containers. These are the cranes that are used to load ships, and there are quite a lot of them. When I suddenly looked up, I saw smoke coming out of the funnel, and it felt very impressive.Little by little, I started to see the city of Kobe in the early morning, and I started to realize that we were finally nearing the port of Kobe. I wonder if it’s because it’s nearing arrival. The workers on the deck are also working. Little by little, Sunflower Pearl is entering the bay. I think you can see something like a red bridge on the shore right now, and it’s probably near that area where it will dock. It has entered the bay this far. As you arrive, you can clearly see the cityscape of Kobe.Enjoy the sight of Sunflower Apparel arriving at Kobe Port. The moment of departure is the same, but the moment of arrival is also very exciting. That feeling of the ship slowly approaching and clinging tightly to the shore, “You’re really good at driving! ”, I can’t help but clap in my heart. (lol) So, we safely arrived at Kobe Port.Although it was a quick cruise from Ooto to Kobe, we were able to experience a very fulfilling and wonderful time. Now , before disembarking, let’s take a look inside the ship. When I returned to my room, I saw a lot of people cleaning up and organizing their luggage.I had already finished organizing my luggage and tidying up my room, so I decided to take my luggage and head towards the promenade . On this cruise, we said goodbye to this room where we stayed for about 11 hours and headed to Bromenade.I think you’ll understand if you watch the video, but I guess it’s the spring break effect after all. I am once again reminded that there are a large number of passengers on board the current Sunflower Apparel.Depending on the ship you board, there may be a period of time from when you arrive at the port until the actual disembarkation begins, but this time at Sunflower Apparel, disembarkation started immediately. When I boarded the ship in Oita, I boarded from the 4th floor. I came by boat, but this time I was going to disembark from the bridge on the 5th floor , but the bridge itself was very short, so I quickly arrived at the terminal.I went down the stairs and headed to the 1st floor.I have never boarded a boat from Sunflower Kobe Ferry Terminal, but it was an amazing ride. It’s a great terminal, so next time you board a ship, I’d like to introduce you to the terminal in more detail. As for how to get to the nearest station, the bus comes to the ferry terminal like this, so you’ll need to board this bus and head to the nearest station . So, I got on the bus, and as expected, it was very crowded. In fact, in addition to the bus I was on, there were about 3 or 4 other buses coming to pick me up.The bus was so crowded, it must have been a spring break power (lol). The most important thing is the destination of the bus. The bus will arrive at four stops. In the order of arrival: Rokko Liner Island North Exit, Hanshin Mikage Station, JR Sumiyoshi Station, Hankyu Mikage Station This time, I decided to get off the bus at JR Sumiyoshi Station. It will take about 20 minutes to get there from the Sunflower stop where I got on.The fare is 230 yen per adult. You can only use cash, so you need to prepare in advance , so you can get off the bus safely. Now , let’s head towards JR Sumiyoshi Station. That’s all for this video. On this channel, we post travel videos, mainly boat trips, every Friday, so we would be very happy if you could subscribe to the channel, give us a high rating, or leave a comment! See you in the next video. Thank you for watching until the end!
