A starry sky representing harmony
between nature and fate is the idea that developed into the
visual strategy promoted by the Puglia Region for Expo 2025
Osaka.

The objective is to explore the concept of ‘Puglia gains Space’
which aims to bring fresh know-how and visions to the region in
order for it to present itself as a new centre of research and
innovation within the Blue Space Economy
“We have presented the Italy of innovation, an Italy that throws
its heart over the fence and looks at the stars, doing it
effectively”, explained Rocco De Franchi, who is in charge of
institutional communication, because “we have represented and
taken many companies from Puglia operating in the aerospace”
sector, something that was “probably like a mirage” a few years
ago but is today “a very solid reality”.

The use of fresh constellations to form the word Puglia suggests
a regional identity eyeing the future, with solid roots in its
history but with a regard fixed on space and technology.

The octagon represented in the constellation evokes the
13th-century Castel del Monte, one of Puglia’s most iconic
sites.

The structure acts as a bridge between Earth and Cosmos: the
octagon is an intermediate form between the square (the Earth)
and the circle (the Sky), representing a connection between the
material and spiritual worlds.

“The Pavilion of the United States is exclusively focused on the
themes of aerospace and satellites”, De Franchi went on to say.

And the “Puglia Region has allowed the Italy Pavilion to respond
promptly, with effectiveness and also with a very important
image of the future that becomes reality thanks to the activity
of companies from Puglia co-funded by cohesion funds, European
funds and all the strategies of investment and of attraction of
investments which the Puglia Region has implemented over the
past few years”.
