TOKYO — Some 12,000 aspiring Japanese-language instructors are slated to take the first-ever national certification exam Sunday, part of a push by Japan to ensure quality education for international learners, many of whom it hopes will become part of the country’s workforce.
The exams will assess basic knowledge and skills in the first 100-question section. The second section will measure test-takers’ instruction and problem-solving abilities, with 50 audio and 60 written questions.
