Ferry Trip Across Japan’s Seto Inland Sea on Jumbo Ferry | Takamatsu to Kobe

I am now on a bus from Kochi to Kagawa prefecture as you saw at the end of my last video! Arrived in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture This town is famous for udon, and there are already two udon shops right in front of us as soon as we get off the bus lol As expected of Kagawa, the udon prefecture! This time I will have udon at this restaurant! Udon and tempura for 500 yen. Very cheap. Local soul food indeed! The broth is sweet and the noodles are chewy. It’s like nothing I’ve ever had before. Shrimp and maitake mushroom tempura Cozy atmosphere inside the restaurant I see Kagawa Prefecture is also a Hanshin Tigers fan I thought this was so cheap and good for 500 yen. Kagawa’s udon is awesome! In front of Takamatsu station I’m here at the free observation deck on the 29th floor of the Takamatsu Symbol Tower, just near the station. Beautiful view of the Seto Inland Sea and the city of Kagawa I want to run and race with a dog on this straight road 🐕. Kagawa really has a lot of udon restaurants lol There are quite a few udon restaurants just in front of the station This udon shop was in the tower. About 1200 yen for a lunch set, as I recall. The noodles at this restaurant are also chewy and delicious. I ordered cold udon this time, but warm udon might have been better. The takikomi rice is also delicious You can enjoy udon noodles with grated Daikon radish and condiments The taste of udon in Kagawa is extraordinary To be honest, it was so good that I wondered what the udon I had before was all about! Thank you for the food. I want to BE udon now. Well, this time I will now travel from Takamatsu to Kobe on the ferry. This time, the seats are reclining seats, and the price was 3390 yen! A free bus will take you to the ferry’s departure port. The bus stop is located right in front of the station Bus stop No. 8. There are letters of the Jumbo Ferry that I will be taking this time. The bus arrives. This bus is free, but it only runs once per time that coincides with the ferry’s departure time, so if you miss it, you’re over! I only stayed a little bit, but it was fun. Thanks for the udon, Kagawa😘. If you miss it, take a cab or walk. On foot it takes about an hour to walk, so don’t miss the bus! Arrived at the ferry port Let’s take a look at the waiting room. There are some games, etc. The ticket office is also located here. This time I already bought mine online. There is also a small restaurant Then it’s time to board the ferry Not much ferry experience, but I like the atmosphere here Now it’s time to board the ferry! When boarding, show your QR code for your ticket. This time I’m boarding a new ship called “Aoi” which entered into service in October 2022 It’s a smaller ship than the ferries I’ve been on. This time I booked a reclining seat in the premier area, which is available for an additional 1500 yen on top of the regular ticket. Enter with QR code This is the premier area This is my seat There is a footrest to relax and look at the ocean There’s also an electrical outlet Reclining just like this Raising the leg rest looks like this This is a box type seat. Many couples were using it during my time These seats in the premier area are common seats. Those who paid the premier area fee are free to use them. ‘No udon noodles allowed’ funny 🤣. There’s also an electrical outlet This is a women-only area Locks for suitcases are also provided Binoculars There was also a dedicated Wi-Fi for premier seats. But it wasn’t very fast, so don’t expect too much. This is an area that is not a premier area. Cheapest area, but seems comfortable here too. Kids space Great to have outlets in the common areas as well! This udon noodles looks delicious This is a dining area Here we are on the third floor It wasn’t in use at this time, but it looks like this place is used during the busy season Private rooms are also available. I would like to use a private room someday and review it! I’m going to go upstairs and go outside. This area is beautifully designed. Containers Time to depart. I love the original music for this ferry. I kind of want to listen to it all the time lol This is the highest place on this ship Now we are about to start our 4h45min journey from here in Kagawa to Kobe via Shodoshima! After all, there are many islands in the Seto Inland Sea There are vending machines, microwaves, and games on board You can see the Osaka Expo character “Myakmyak” here There is also a vending machine for frozen food. There’s a microwave so you can eat right away. Prices are about the same as convenience stores. They also have my favorite “nectar juice” 🥰. Taking turtles on the sea🤔 From Kagawa where I am now to Shodoshima and then to Kobe On the way, we pass under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which I’ll show you later. Some snacks are sold at the store. Prices are a little higher than convenience stores Amenities are not free, so if you need a towel, you need to buy it here Area for pets Small cafe space Payments can be made with Paypay. Relaxing So many islands, I don’t know which island is being announced lol Too bad the weather is not so nice today Free baths available for those with premier seats It looks like it’s not open right now, so I’ll use it again after my departure from Shodoshima I guess I’ll have some udon. Cashless payment available Lemon udon noodles 450 yen The number will appear here when it is ready ‘This is the udon priority seat’ 😂 Third bowl of udon in 3 hours Lemon and an olive on top! Soup is so good! Setouchi lemons can be eaten as they are Combination of lemon, udon and sea Delicious udon. Thanks for the food. Shodoshima is in sight. What the hell is that? Flying super cat? I won’t get off here this time, but Shodoshima is interesting. Boat berthing scene Woohoo Goodbye, everyone 👋 After a short stop at Shodoshima, we’re off to Kobe! The weather is getting worse than before The baths are now open This is the women’s bath This is the men’s bath. QR code is required to enter. The bath was kind of small There is an additional footbath here Whee 😱 There’s bath salts in it. It’s even nicer when you’re looking at the ocean (and it was even nicer when the weather was better) Forgot my towel, so I used my T-shirt as a towel. I’m hungry, so I order “floating takoyaki” (350 yen) The octopus is small, but the soup broth goes really well with the takoyaki. Octopus. It was in the ocean the other day and now it’s in the soup. You never know what will happen in life. That was delicious! Thanks for the meal. Passing by Awaji Island This is Awaji Island And in front of us is the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, one of the world’s largest suspension bridges Cherry blossoms are still blooming on Awaji Island. You can see Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture. I miss the land. Finally passing under the bridge! The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is a suspension bridge with a total length of 3,911m and a center span of 1,991m. It was registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s longest suspension bridge until 2022. It is still one of the largest suspension bridges in the world, although it has now been surpassed by the 1915 bridge in Çanakkale, Turkey. I just passed under it, but it gives me a strange sense of accomplishment. If the weather had been better, I could have shared more beautiful images with you, but please look forward to next time! As we get closer to Kobe, the weather is getting worse and the sea is a little rougher The night view of Kobe is famous for its beauty, but this is the first time I’ve seen it from inside a ferry. It’s cold and raining, but this is what the night view looks like from outside Beautiful. It’s time to disembark I’m really starting to love this song lol The reclining seats this time were comfortable. I like the free footbath if you have a seat in the premier area. I would definitely try another seat or a private room again! I would love to get on board on a sunny day and see the beautiful Seto Inland Sea next time! Lots of containers Port of Kobe After disembarking, there’s a free bus from Kobe Port to Sannomiya Station, so I’ll take that. The bus seems to leave right after disembarkation, so I move quickly. Don’t forget to bring cash, as IC cards are not accepted. It’s a little crowded, but not so packed. Arrive at Sannomiya station in about 10 minutes That’s all for this video.
