CHICKEN ISLAND TRIP POEM, KRABI Phuket Thailand Guide GH5 mft
I wrote a little poem about my boat trip from Phuket to Krabi. The I recorded a voice over with the Blue Yeti Microphone. And edited it to fit my footage that i filmed with the Panasonic GH5 and the Gopro 7. Here are my Phuket words:
Dear Andaman Sea,
I‘m sorry for interrupting.
I just felt like it was time
for me to look at something
So quiet so blue so beautifully untouched.
So I booked the five islands tour
from Phuket to Krabi.
Which isn’t quiet at all
especially in Krabi
That’s why today I only share with you
chicken island.
8 kilometres from Ao Nang
that’s true.
A remote island, sandy beaches, blue water, trees.
Only a few tourists, no bar, no music, just peace.
Salt. Fishes. Colors. Bubbles. Rocks.
Breathing under water. Nobody who knocks.
Snorkeling to me is dreaming
with your eyes wide open.
You know what? In the end Thailand rocks.

Tim Thorer (*1979) is a full time journalist from germany who travels the world and films what he eats. He’s already been to 38 countries including North Korea, USA, Barbados, Guatemala and Kenia. But his most favourite place on earth is Thailand. Mainly because of the people and secondly because of the amazingly delicious food. Since 2017 he writes a Thai Food Blog. Since 2018 he films some of his most memorable moments in Thailand. His favorite locations are street food stalls and markets. He used to film with a Panasonic GX8. But as things got more serious (after watching Chefs Table and Mark Wiens) he switched to a Panasonic Lumix GH5 (with Rode mic). That mirrorless camera Panasonic GH5 comes with small lenses for a micro four thirds (mft) mount and lets the user record in many different frame rates, from 2 frames per second to 180 fps. So expect a lot of slow motion (GH5 cinematic, diving 2019, ao nang beach) and timelapse sequences but no typical Thailand vlog.
