Tokyo’s Naughty Alley Never Sleeps – Even in the Rain!
Nice is this area. There’s a subscriber close. All right, let’s let’s walk from here. So as you see this towel is crazy and When are you coming to Umar Umaru? Sorry. When are you coming to Kyoto? I think. Yeah, we are coming to Kyoto next month when for first we’re going to go to Osaka. We cover Osaka Expo and then Kyoto maybe one two days and then we’re going to go explore some other area. You go. All right. This street in Shimoshi, it’s Maybe the most crowded. It’s always full of people walking and going inside isakaya and clubs in this area. Sorry. So right now we are walking in the shimash area is a super lively town in Minato in Tokyo. It’s famous for uh salaryman night life because there are a lot of companies here and a lot of salary Japanese salmon come here for drinking and fun after work. So there are many type of old school drinking places in this town. Also many new places as well. It’s very close to Ginsa, Tokyo’s luxury area. So also there are some this way the price is a bit expensive compared to like a Shinjuku or Shiba. It’s windy. If the rain has stopped, I can read the chats. But now the it’s rain and wind together. She must be on you. What are you doing? Yeah, I should be careful about the umbrella. Oh, what happened to the what was the story about the server in? Oh yeah, that one actually I checked still they are investig that they are checking now they are researching what they still they don’t know what was the the motive of that person but he just attacked some student and I think two people got injured one of them a bit heavy but both are okay the guy also was arrested but based on the latest news they still they are they don’t know stop. Yeah, we don’t know the the motive the the reason why. I think maybe a lot of people in Tokyo they get stressed and they just do crazy stuff because of the maybe work situation and stuff. But still today I didn’t check but yesterday I checked it wasn’t clear why he did that. So we don’t know there are many there are a lot of train accident in Tokyo a lot of people jump in front of train they do they kill themselves but they also want to complain against things this way they jump in they want to they want to actually notify the society that something is wrong then they jump in front of the train but and that causes a lot issue but they don’t mention it. They don’t tell in the news and stuff. A lot of them they cover only a few% of this accidents. Actually a lot of them are actually related to a stress and like a maybe work situation in some companies and recently there are many uh tenug company. potential company means changing job company. They are actually advertised in Japan and Japanese TVs. There are too many companies that are advertised in TV for helping the workers to get rid of their jobs and to find a better job because a lot of Japanese they don’t really switch job. they don’t really go from jump from this job to another job. They stay long even though the situation is not good. they still keep doing it and then and one of the reason is because they are shy or I don’t know it’s hard for them to get rid of the job even though they have difficulty they work overtime but now these companies they are actually really good they are helping them to get rid of the company uh legally with proper documentation and then they find them a better job so it’s good it’s improving And there are many of them those uh companies now that they help people with a better job. All right, let’s Let’s go from the back of streets. I I can see some drops on the lens. I have to get rid of it. Sorry. Let’s wait a minute. Should be better now. Okay, I can hear people having fun singing inside these feelings. This is another way of getting rid of the stress. Even though a lot of companies they make people work longer than usual but this is the way they also they can get rid of the stress after the work the calm drinking in this area and many other in Tokyo and then get rid of the stress and forget about the difficulty of the daytime and just drink and enjoy for a few hours every night. Hello Pedro, welcome to the stream. There are many tachinomi in this area. Standing bar. Tachin in Japanese means standing bar. Also uh gadoshittita is also very popular. Gadoshid is just the shops under the train truck and a lot of other shot bars and pizza. And this one seems like a vegetarian restaurant because the decoration is all fruits and vegetables. Not sure. As you see there are many girls balls in this area. This sidewalks are very narrow. Even because it’s corroded, it’s hard to walk. Now with umbrella is even more difficult. So this Irish pub is popular among foreigner in Japan. Also there are a lot of Japanese here. A lot of Japanese also come here to practice English with foreigner. Give it. It seems the rain doesn’t want to stop. All type of Japanese suck here. Welcome. English menu available restaurant. Let’s go to the Godia under the shinkansen truck. That area also has nice environment with their kay. Hello Carl. All the usual suspects are at the ninja bar already. Usual one. All right. I’m going to actually come and check them. Check out the bar later. It’s raining here too in Kyoto. All right. This this is originally from Osaka with a tapyaki. The worst thing in the rain is when it’s windy because You can’t even hold your Alberta and the wind tries to actually flip your Alberta and that’s troublesome. Oh. Is it? That’s what they say. Who do they go? What is that? Oh yes. Goodbye. What are you doing? pretty. This building is interesting. A very small building in the middle of the road. The other side is the train rock and this area is the street and there’s a parking over there. This is a actually it’s five floor building. Is this building okay when rescue comes? Not sure. And it’s old building. Go ahead. Just So this shops isakaya restaurant under the train track are called go shittita in Japanese and they have been around for more than 100 years because this some of this trucks are really old. I think. Hello. What? Hello It’s not Wow, it’s very crowded. Even though it’s raining, it’s very crowded. since the rain stopped. Can I just take away my Alberta? The city is raining. Okay, let’s go to some different area. All right, guys. Please keep hitting the like button while you are watching the video. So we are actually heading to the main area in front of Shimashi station. And this is one of the actually oldest station in Tokyo. This why there is a train just in the center of the square. We’re going to show you later. Yeah, the rain doesn’t want to stop. It’s a light rain, but Yeah. So that shiny building in front of us is a new building in Shimbashi used to be a camera shop, digital shop. Now it’s a isakaya and they have all type of isizakaya from different areas in Japan. And that’s actually very cool. There are some bars also on the top. Let me show you just a little. This is the train I was talking about. is a symbol of Shimbachi because Shimbachi was one of the oldest location in Tokyo. That train originally was made here. The train station, food, entertainment and shin machine. So you can sit also also it’s cool actually they have some really nice isakaya inside this. So it’s eighth floor and there are two a few isakaya’s restaurant and also there is a stage on top as you see and there is a actually a rooftop traditional Japanese style on the top. You can actually rent the space as well. Also they have private room as well. Let’s see. What’s coming? Nice is so isakaya price usually is more more expensive than a normal restaurant because has a charge system. So you go hello you go in and uh you pay for the place they charge you the 1,000. They give you some free snack or salad or some stuff for that 1,000 and then you can order drinks and also some food. The variety of food is is good. You can try too many type of foods and usually is twice as much average of isakaya is like twice as much as restaurant. So if you just want to eat properly and just have one drink restaurant is better. But if you want to enjoy drinking a lot like with your friend and stuff isaka is more expensive but it’s more fun. Wow, suddenly it’s so frozen. The worst thing is the uh umbrella. You have to be careful otherwise umbrella is going to hurt you. Hello. All right. Hey. Hey. Live. Live. How they do? Oh, okay. Okay. Now I realized I just lost my the nails wiper. Now if I get a raindrop, I can’t fix it. Oh, hello Brandon. Woke up in the middle of the night going back to sleep. Wanted to say evening and go good night. All right. See you in Japan in four weeks. Yeah. See you around. Take care. Have a good night. Yeah, I was on the phone. Sorry. It was something about the We have a tour tomorrow. something about the tour. I had to I had to confirm it. I usually keep the lens blower on my backpack in my backpack. Today is not there for some reason. And yeah. Yeah. So Shimbashi is always lively and the cool thing about Shimashi is like I said this is near Ginsa area which is Tokyo’s luxury area and also Shimbashi itself has really unique stuff like this building, old buildings, a lot of cool bars, clubs. Uh, snack bars is really popular here in Shimbashi. Snack bar is a big thing in Japan. Maybe a snack bar is the one of the oldest nightife places in Japan since long time ago, even before Edo period. So snack part is a place that you go uh get served by a mama a lady that give you alcohol drink and some snack and also uh they usually engage with you in conversation casual conversation. So each snack wall in each area they have their own customers. So they become a regular customer. They they are just like friend and then it’s like a it’s like a casual traditional therapy snack bar. You get drink, you get food, a snack and then you talk with the mama and also other regulars and then so everybody’s like a friend there. And then everybody enjoys the the the place with drinking and conversation and food. So this way snack bar is really like it’s popular in Japan especially after work now. A lot of replacement for a snack like Gears Bar, Kong Coffee, uh clubs, music bar, a lot of other replacement for snacks. But snack is still a big thing in Japan. We are actually using one of the oldest snack bar in Tokyo in Shinjuku Bar Hopping Tour. So if you guys are new, check out our Smiley Walk website for unique tours in Japan. We do some bar hopping and some other tours in Tokyo. Yeah, that bar that we are using at the snack bar is actually like 74 years old and it’s really fun place is a hidden area in Tokyo. Even a lot of Japanese don’t know that area. This is a wine bar. I don’t. All right. I think we are done with Shimbashi. I couldn’t focus properly because of uh too many things umbrella rain and stuff but yeah I think we explored almost everywhere shim and the rain didn’t stop. Oh, but uh let me actually maybe show you the this area too before we move. Let me show you actually the Ginsa corridor area as well. So this under the bridge, this area has a lot of restaurants and isakayas and cool places. It’s really unique and uh fun. take you inside some of the shops over there. And then Oh, I see. Music or Hold on. Get back. Who’s your brother? Is a big element of Japanese culture. Especially at night you go you go isakaya you eat and drink and then you go to bar get some other drinks and then after that you go to some clubs or some people go to Isizakaya with friends and enjoy singing Woohoo! Take it. So I think here we can get rid of the Alberta. We’re going to go inside. We’re going to go under the bridge. There are many restaurants under the bridge. So I think today this area is very popular because of the rain. This area has a roof and as you see both side there are many Yeah, let’s go. strong. Take a clean. There’s music. We have to run. Copyright. Please don’t give me copyright. Very lively. The nightclub. Nightclub. This nightclub is new. It wasn’t here before. I think it’s I think it’s open recently, maybe a few months. Last time I came here, it wasn’t Okay. Let’s also check the other side of the bridge. So this area is a bit wider. Still there are many isakaya restaurant as you see. Wow. This this bridge is really wide huge. There are too many big isakayas on both sides because the train truck is really wide. There are too many train trucks on the top and even shinkansen. Shinkans and normal train actually go above this bridge. Some of them very quiet. There’s a real All right, I have to actually go to the training station now. The restaurants are really nice here. Very cool and big. And they’re not very crowded, but it’s not easy to come here. Access is difficult. You’re doing Love it. Heat. Heat. It’s That area also is really nice under the bridge. Today we don’t have time to go and check it out. But that day also is really nice. Yoko is a Ginsa or Ginsa corridor or Yoko with many actually giza kayas and cool stuff this area as well. like to All right, we have to get we have to go to the train station from here.

I think America should ban Japan people from entering some businesses and only serve everyone else but Japan people just like Japan does. Half of the businesses in Japan bans foreigners from entering their establishments.

i loved this.
Most of Japanese ladies have strong legs 😂
Kinda weird seeing all the umbrellas.
Lol…
Last time l used one was maybe 1991.
I'd probably be spending at least $2000 night
It's something I have never experienced.
Would love to though.
The arches at the end under the railway lines reminds me of the legendary nightclub in Glasgow Scotland with the same name ‘The Arches’ & now renamed Platform & it is situated under Glasgow Central train station. I was great to hear a lot of the worlds top DJ’s play there 🔊🎚️
Arigato JE for showing underneath the railway between Shinbashi & Tokyo station.😎
Beautiful night and walk around. Enjoyed thank you.
Business as usual
5:29 Watching those women on the left being "I don't want to be filmed", and then they turn away or pull their umbrellas close to obscure their faces. Maybe you can film more discreetly somehow?
Been in Tokyo for 2 weeks haven’t done so many days where I watch the sun come up
