Tokyo, Japan – May 26, 2025 – NAVITIME JAPAN Co., Ltd. (CEO: Keisuke Onishi, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) has updated disaster support features on its navigation app for international tourists “Japan Travel by NAVITIME” and launched a new feature that alerts users of various travel related advisories and emergency shelter information.

Japan Travel by NAVITIME is a navigation app designed for international visitors to Japan. It supports every stage of travel (before, during, and after the trip) in 13 languages, with features such as planning, reservations, maps, navigation, and sharing experiences.

Japan is prone to earthquakes and extreme weather like hurricanes. The locals are quite aware of what to expect and what they need to do to keep safe. However, international tourists who are not used to those irregular situations require the guidance of reliable information but often struggle to find them due to limited multilingual coverage and knowing where to find them.

To address these challenges, we have enhanced the accessibility and clarity of disaster-related information on our App. Users can now view weather warnings on their travel plans and route search results; access alternative travel routes; and look for evacuation shelters in the aftermath of a serious earthquake.
