TOWN OF WOODBURY, NY — The Town of Woodbury Police Department says that, in coordination with the Woodbury Building Department, they have ordered Tokyo Spa closed immediately, following a joint investigation into unlicensed business activity and multiple building code violations.
On Thursday, around 7:05 p.m., Woodbury police said they responded to an undisclosed incident at Tokyo Spa. During their investigation, police found that the business was operating with a person who did not have a valid massage therapy license issued by the NYS Education Department. Police say that this is a violation of state regulations regarding professional licensing for massage therapy.
Additionally, the Building Department was notified and responded to the location, finding several building code violations that required immediate attention and remediation, authorities said.
Police say the Tokyo Spa will remain closed until further notice, pending resolution of the licensing and building code issues.
