What’s New at Osaka Station? Travel Spots and Local Area. Japan Travel Update from Osaka Ep.570

Hey guys, today we’re in Osaka Station. Golden Week just finished. During the Golden Week time, this place was super crowded, but it become much better. One of the busiest season for travel. It’s just finished. It will be a little bit quiet until July. What a beautiful day. Seems like they are building something for the future event. Speaking of today’s temperature, it’s 19°, wind is 4 m/s, 47% humidity. Sunset time is 6:47. Well, already it becomes May, but in the windy day, still a little bit chilly. So, if you are traveling to Japan, still you need a light jacket. So in this video I will share about the travel situation update of May and I will share about the uma area which is one of the newest spot in Osaka. Osaka station is a big station and it is very complicated but there are so many nice places over here too. So let me introduce and hope this video will help for your next Japan trip too. Oh by the way. Hey guys, welcome back to Ry TV. I’m Ryan S. Please don’t forget to check my Instagram too. All right, so let’s keep walking. So let me start the tour from this Lua square. Those building is a department store called Lukua. That’s why this place called Lucula Square. So the first spot is Yodashi. That’s the Yodbashi Kame, one of the biggest electric appliance store. Inside not only the electric appliances, but also there is a supermarket too. So if you are staying in Osaka station, you can visit here as well. Inside it’s nice atmosphere. Those are the electric appliance store. But if you want to enjoy the shopping, you can go this area. They have so many different kinds of camera. Whenever I want to try the new camera or lenses, I usually come visit Yodashu. That’s FX3. They have so many different kinds of lenses too. Now we came to the basement floor. It is the entrance of food street. It is the Oshi Mono Yoko Cho. Inside there are many different kinds of restaurants. Not that many people now but on the weekend there are so many people enjoy drinking over here. It has nice atmosphere. Very interesting street. Just keep straight and the supermarket is over there. It is a big supermarket. So if you are staying a hotel around Osaka station, you can come visit here to buy the bento or alcohol liquor. They have Osaka XP Maku Maku souvenir too, cookies and popcorn. Also the McDonald’s in front. Oh, look at this Maku Maku mochi. Looks pretty good. Price is 1,150 Japanese yen. And that’s my favorite candy. Strawberry milk candy. They are having the expo club. That’s cute. If you are staying at Hotel Hank Respir Hotel, this place directly connecting by elevator. So this supermarket will be very useful. In the second floor, there is a highway bus terminal. Sakura bus square. Over here there is a company and a table. You can take a rest in the second floor. Outside there’s a nice gatapong street. Uh that’s a Pokemon mascot that you can connect. That’s cute. And one piece devil fruit scapong. Nice. Oh, but this one it’s nicer. Let’s keep walking. So, let me share about the Japanese yen situation. As of 7th of May, as we expected from the previous video, yes, Japanese yen gets more expensive. Right now, one unit star is about 14243. So, compared to the, you know, the cheapest time, it was about 160 Japanese yen for $1 US. Yep. So, compared to those time, Japanese yen gets more expensive. However, still I think it’s pretty cheap though. Well, for me, if Japanese yen is cheaper, more travelers can visit Japan. So, I hope Japanese yen keep cheaper though. But, you know, recently there are so many things happening in the economic especially, you know, from the United States. So, I will let you guys know about the Japanese yen situation and the future travel situation update too. So, if you haven’t, please don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. And now we came back to the square of Luka. So now let’s keep walking toward to Umeita area through ground. It is also big department store ground from Osaka. Inside there are many shops and also the restaurant. Those are the restaurants inside here. They have a south building and a north building. But usually those restaurant it’s pretty crowded since it’s closed from the station. So if you are visiting there you got to be careful and it continues to the north building. And now we are at nose building. In the center of nose building there is a nice square. If you are tired you can always come over here to take a rest. During the Christmas time, they have a big Christmas tree over here and it becomes really beautiful. So, this is one of my favorite spot at Osaka Station, too. Oh, what’s that? Seems like they are having some event of Jujutsu Kaisen. Seems like they are having the cor menu items, foods, and the drink. Nice foods. Price is about 2,000 Japanese yen. No waiting time. Cool. Let’s go outside. Oh, wait. I just realized we can go to Umeita area from the second floor. Let’s go back and use that aisle. It is a nice square. Still, it’s not fully open yet. Well, they will eventually open the full area 2027. So still we have two more years to complete. So must be this is the place grand green occur nose connecting bridge. Let’s keep walking. They are building the apartment over here and it will be one of the most expensive apartment in Osaka. I heard one of the most luxury the highest floor of the apartment. You can actually go by your car and the car bring up by the elevator and then you can place it in your apartment. That’s what I heard. Well, yeah, maybe some people driving the super car and uh want to look at it at your apartment then that would be a great spot there. Well, if not that will be the two luxury option though. Interesting. And the building in front of you, that’s Osaka station where we were. Just we walk all the way down over here and heading to the Umea area. So my first time to enter Grand Oaka. Interesting. Oh, still inside much fewer people. There is a cafe and also the bookstore. It’s the kids playground. So those are the restaurant floor and from the third floor to ninth floor it is the company inside. I think that’s a rental office or something and from 10th floor to 25th floor canopy by the Hilton Osaka. I believe it’s the hotel or something. They also have the nice rest space and we can go up from there. It continues to the garden of Umea. Uh there is a cafe restaurant. They have a burger 1,650 Japanese yen. Spam burger. Also quish burger 1,500 Japanese yen. Also those areas are still under construction. Can’t wait of the completion. Yep. Osaka station will be much nicer. Speaking of the Osaka train situation, right now from Osaka station to Kansa International Airport, it takes about 50 minutes. However, they are building the new stations and it becomes more convenient in the future. After they build it, probably it will be faster. I’m not sure how fast it will be, but it becomes more convenient. And hopefully more international travelers can visit Osaka, too. As you guys know, Osaka right now, it’s like the third or fourth destination after they arrive to Japan. Firstly, they arrive Tokyo, go by the Shinkansen, go to Kyoto and maybe Hiroshima. After that, Osaka. Yeah, that kind of situation right now. However, probably after they built the IR which is a kind of like big amusement place including casino, there will be more and more traveler directory coming to the Kansa International Airport and then those station will be very important. So right now you are not familiar with around the Osaka areas but maybe in the future you will. Seems like they are having some event over here something artistic. So let’s keep walking toward to south area. Oh there is a bridge but seems like still not complete yet. Yeah it ends over there. So we need to cross that street. According to the internet there is a nice food court over there. the time out market today. I’m planning to eat there. Hopefully, we can find some nice food over there. So, we arrived to south part of Umecha area. We were at the north part and those places were still under construction. Yep. The bridge still, you know, hasn’t completed yet. And now we are at the south part of um area. I believe timeout market is at this south building over here. There is a nice garden in the middle. It’s always good to have a green and the office area. So, let’s go upstairs. Oh, yeah. From here, we can see that green bear in front of Osaka station. And I’m not sure if you can see or not, but that’s a Luka Square where we were. Okay. So, seems like there is a cafe. Hawaiian breeze. Ah, looks pretty nice pancake. Oh, the egg things over here. Oh, maybe the pancake is from this extinct. It’s a nice Hawaiian restaurant. So, must be. Oh, so the Starbucks. Oh, now they have a new drink. I got to try that. If you want to come to this Umecha Square directory, you can use JR Osaka station’s Umecha underground gate. You can directly arrive over here. It is very convenient. Uh there is a food court over here. Mr. Donuts, it’s my favorite donuts place. And udong plus mossburger. Also KFC. And it seems like that’s Yoshinoya over there. Yep. Huh. Interesting. We can know by the table situation. Still, we have plenty of spaces. However, I think if we look at this way, we can easily tell though. Well, it’s always good to have a new technology. Anyways, let’s keep walking. So, firstly, let me try this bridge. Ah, we can see the square from here. Nice. So after they finish construction, we can go by this bridge all the way down to that north area. But uh it is cut over there. Oh, I think last time when we were here there were the water in that fountain but seems like no water today. Maybe they will have a water on the weekend. So from here we can’t go anymore. Yep. It is under construction. Let’s go down there. Maybe those people by the apartment. Anyways, let’s keep walking. Oh, I see. when the day don’t have the event over here. We cannot enter in middle of the square. Well, maybe because last time when we were here, it was during the golden week and they had the event night. So that’s why we could enter over there. Interesting. Anyways, let’s go to that building. Oh, hold on. Yeah, maybe that building over there. Timeout market. Yeah, must be over there. So many people enjoying a beautiful day at this square. Nice atmosphere. Oh, I see. Still they are growing the grasses. So that’s why we can enter. Wow, that’s a super nice view and a beautiful day. Now I love Osaka station more compared to Namba area. So this way beautiful flowers there is a big Nike store and let’s check up the information. So there are restaurants and the shops also hotel Hanki Grand Respire Osaka it’s over here too. So here they have a mishanest onear restaurants. Yes, that’s very interesting right? That’s why I’m here. Time out market Osaka. Let’s see what we have over here. Sweet. So, that’s the restaurant. The first time Michelin star restaurant in Osaka. And they’re having the khag right now. Interesting. Never tried it. Why not? Let’s try. I’m not sure if it’s good or not, but they have a kaag and a French fries. 1,200 Japanese yen. Let’s do it. We have a drink over here, too. Let me get the beer. Small one. 680 Japanese yen. Oh, they have mocktail, too, which is a non-alcohol one. Why not? Let’s try that one. I think it’s more interesting. Oh, yeah. So, that’s my drink. Looks pretty good. was sleeping. All right, we got it. It’s ready. All right, here we go. All right, here we go. We got the Michon Stars French fries. Price is 1,200 Japanese yen. Compared to the regular places, it is expensive. I think this place because music is just too loud. And probably I better find different place. Well, I tried to film over here, but I think this place is too dark, too. Probably we better go outside if we can. Yeah, here music much more quiet and the light is better too. Always I have to think about where to eat because I’m filming. So, it’s a bit sometimes harder, but this time it was harder. Anyways, so let me try that misal fries. It’s mic, but not that special, but I love French fries, so here we go. It is ka a let me try the regular kag to be honest this fried chicken karag itself nothing special but I got the iburi gako sauce which is the smoked pickled daikon interesting let me Nice smoked daikong which is the radish flavor perfectly matches with fried chicken with French fries. It’s okay though. Also this time I got the mocktail. I was thinking to get the alcohol one, but since I wanted to try something special, so this is the one compai. Oh, it is not the sweet, but the perfect lemon and the honey flavors. Also a little bit ginger. Loving it. So, speaking of the price, altogether, this plate was about 2,000 Japanese yen. Yes, thinking about Japanese standard, it is pretty pricey. However, I got to try something new at the new spot. So, it’s sugar. Well, sometimes that I know it could have better wine. However, I will try instead of you and I will let you know if it worth it or not. This one interesting. But if you expecting the mission on stat level, maybe next time I think that would be better. It’s meti interesting too though. Especially I love this iburi goat sauce and also I love this mocktail. Actually, this iburi, which is a small daon radish sauce, that’s pretty good. I want to buy only this sauce. Yeah, interesting. That was an interesting experience. Yes, we are always paying for the experience. Loving it. All right, so let’s keep walking. Oh, look at this street. Interesting. That’s something artistic. You can also use the stairs to going up. That’s something artistic. Now we just explore this Umeita new area. Next, we are heading to the relatively new building over here. The Kit Osaka. If you are using the Osaka Metro, this is also the way to go. Yep. The Kit Building is the building in front of you. And this building, there is another drinking place, Barika. It is the Inog Osaka. Last time when we visit here, this place was still under construction and no office inside. But now seems like already restaurants and office are open. It seems pretty nice building and also all in the sixth floor they have a share lounge. Share lounge is a nice co-working space and also you can study too. I introduced it in the Shibuya video. They have it in Shibuya too. Recently they have share lounge in many places. Interesting. We are heading to the downstairs. We can walk through the station. I remember last time when we were here, they had the Jojo event over here. Oh, still there’s a Jojo though, but uh seems like no lying. When they just build there aren’t many people wanted to take photo over here and there is a long line but uh yeah seems like already people get used to it. So let’s keep walking to the kit building. Ah look at that. Now beard papa has a limited peach cream path. That sounds interesting. Why not? Let’s try it. Sweet. We got it. That’s my favorite cream puff store. Beard papar. Price is 290 Japanese yen. I remember when I was a state when I tried to eat the beard papa’s cream pop, it was $2 for one cream puff. Wait, it was 2.5. I forgot. Anyways, I felt it’s super expensive because in Japan we can eat less than 200 Japanese yen. However, now seems like inflation coming to Japan and I believe you can’t buy cream puff with $2 in the States now though. Anyways, it’s really crispy outside. Nice pie flavor and the inside a sweet peach cream. Perfectly matches. Loving it. Yep. Definitely this one. It was 290 Japanese yen. Loving it. If you want to go to the kit building directory from Osaka station, this is the exit that you need to use. It is the west gate. There is a explanation everywhere in Osaka. You know, from the station how to get to Osaka Expo because there are so many international travelers coming to Osaka now. And they have Osaka Expo special train now. And this is another spot. Kit building. It is a relatively new building in Osaka becomes one of the popular travel spot here too. It’s a beautiful building. And the second floor there are many different kinds of prefectured shop. We call antenna shop. Antenna shop. It’s Nigata Prefecture sake shop. and the Hiroshima Prefecture Shop. Here’s a Its Kushima Shrine Triate. Over here, also Saki server. You can try many different kinds of saki. Four cups of sake. 1,000 Japanese yen. You can start from 300 Japanese yen. And here there is a vending machine area. Interesting. This is the takoyaki sauce vending machine. And uh that’s the ice cream. 500 Japanese yen. It’s the yakitori chicken skin. This one is the salt paste. Sweets vending machine. And also the breath vending machine. Interesting. So many different kinds of vending machine over here. And also that’s a old vending machine. Open door. Yeah. supposed to be the cocoa over there. But this one is the just for display. That’s Miyazaki Prefecture, Hokkaido, and also Okinawa. We have similar area in Tokyo around the Urcho area. But since this is newer place, this place nicer though. Let’s go to the restaurant area. There are many different kinds of restaurant over here. But since it just finished the golden week, so much fewer people over here. Seems like most of the restaurant, you can enter without waiting. In the sixth floor, it is the amusement floor. There is a nice bar that you can get that drink and you can play the game. The house of the or that’s cash. And it seems like this is a super classic game by the Nintendo. Interesting. Hit some driving game. Also, I think you can throw the ball and you know crush the bottle. Darts. Wow. Seems like all classic games. Interesting. Plus, there’s a claw machine area. Look what I found. Small maku. But seems like quality isn’t that great though. Dolly and Nemo. Oh, interesting. Horse club. You can try that horse machine with 1,650 Japanese yen. Very interesting. My first time to see that. Also, there is a theater too. It’s like still there are many empty seats at the conveyor restaurant. Well, it’s still before 6:00 p.m. So maybe that’s why we are heading to West Kabuk Osaka area. That’s the Osaka station and that’s a Lua department store. Behind that building there’s a square that we start filming. So now we are at west part of Osaka station. If we keep straight we will get to the one of the most popular intersection in Osaka but we are entering that harband. It is one of my favorite building. From outside you can’t really tell but it is a super beautiful building inside. They also have the Gekid Shiki theater. It is one of the most popular musical theater in Osaka. And that’s the entrance of building. That’s fancy. Oh, wait. Seems like this building is not familiar. There are just so many fancy stores only. Maybe I entered the wrong building. I usually enter this building from the underground street. So yeah, maybe this is not the one. Oh, I see. So building that I know it’s habisa ende. So this is the way to go. It is a different building. Probably the building right next to this building over here. Yes, this is the one. You know why I know? Because I see the sign of Sony. There’s a Sony store I usually visit. Also the escality and the building atmosphere it’s super nice too. So even I just visit the sunny store. I feel like that I become a VIP. That’s the reason why I like this place. But uh yeah seems like we have visited the next building. Let’s go downstairs. Anyways, it’s a super nice building though. By the way, if you’re using the airport limousine bus or express bus from Osaka station, this is the bus stop. Airport Riming. Yep. Seems like there are people waiting for the bus now. And now we are at the B2 floor. Yep. This is the entrance I usually use. There is a nice sign her ant and and there are flowers and that hill west. Yeah, that’s the building that we made a mistakenly enter. No wonder. By the way, we are already close to the JR Kitashi station. Kitashini station is one of the very popular spot for drinking. It’s like the Ginsa in Tokyo. It’s already 6:00 p.m. Almost rush hour time. Osaka station will be more and more crowded. So many people changing the train from Osaka metro to JR. So let me explain about the station around Osaka station. There are so many station and they have a different kinds of name but basically they are the same station. We are over here. Osaka station is over here. the JR Osaka station. If you use the subway, Osaka station’s name change it to Umemeda station. However, it is basically the same station. And if you use the Hing line name changes again and it’s Osaka Umeda station. This one sounds more understandable, right? Because Osaka and Umeda station, they have two. So Osaka Umeda station those are the Osaka metro but different line. If you use the Yosubashi line, the name change it to Nishi Umeda station. And if you use the Tanimachi line name change to Higashi Umeda station because it is east, east in Japanese is Higashi. West in Japanese is Nishi Nishi. However, all of the stations are pretty close each other and it is walking distance. You can use the underground street too. So even in the rainy days you don’t have to worry that much. So if you are staying around Osaka area and you need to come over to Osaka station you can find more convenient stations wherever it is depends on the line and you can come over and walk. That would be the easiest way. We are heading to northeast area of Osaka station. Isn’t it amazing? So many people walking and not crossing each other but no one hit each other. Yeah, it’s kind of like Japanese specialtity. Yes, we walk this kind of street every day and you know we can sense the atmosphere which way to go and who has to stop and who can go first. So that’s why we don’t hit each other. Yes, it is the Japanese people’s special. Wait, super hard. Let’s keep going. We are almost arriving to the next destination. Now we arrived to the square. It is Hansing railway Osaka Umeda station and also it is the middle suji line station. Yep. Here too there are so many people but no one is crushing each other. Here underground street starts. In this underground street there are many restaurants and the shops. It contains isuminoa. There is a small fountain square. There is a small chip sweet store and a supermarket Sejo is also discounted snack store. Home rice restaurant. Ramen price is less than 1,000 Japanese yen. Interesting. Name of the restaurant is Udong O. O means king. So king of Udong. Good name. They have a king Udong. 1,580 Japanese yen. Pretty much they have everything in the udong. Interesting. Oh, and also we have Comaz restaurant, Tiki Suisan. They are selling the two girls sushi too. Nice. And now we arrived to Izumino Hiloba. Sometimes they have a event object over here, but seems like no today. We are heading to Hanku department area. Now just going upstairs this long escalator. Wow, so many people over here. And now this also one of the popular street in Osaka station. This street calls Sanjuangai. Even in the rainy days, you can walk freely over here because there is a roof. You can just go up from this street and on your left side there is a hip five building and there is a ferris wheel. Just keep straight up that entrance and you will arrive to this higashi which is the east street arcade. It is the local arcade. There are many drinking places and compared to the main part of I mean Osaka station usually the prices are cheaper here. Draft beer is only 180 Japanese yen. Takoyaki is only 480 Japanese yen. Chicken skin car a fried chicken 480 Japanese yen too. Yep. You can find those prices in main part of Osaka. Oh, here draft beer premium modes 160 Japanese yen. It says always happy hour price. Nice sashimi stew. Sweet. Well, if you are tired with a big luggage, maybe you can just find the closest restaurant in the west part of Osaka station. However, if you have extra time, you can always come over to this east side of arcade and you can find a cheaper restaurant, especially if you want to drink. It becomes really quiet now. Chicken wing 90 Japanese yen. Draw beer 150 Japanese yen. Wow. And this exit, we are almost at hipfire building. Let’s enter from the back side of the building. All right, here we go. This is the building. They have the ferris wheel. So, the ferris wheel entrance is in the seventh floor. There is a ticket counter and entrance. This place escalator as like the maze. And finally, we are at seventh floor. Last time when I came here, it was so crowded, but you know, after the golden week, just finished it. So much fewer people over here too. And here we go. That’s the entrance of Paris wheel. Wow, it looks pretty small from outside, but if we get closer, it is pretty big wheel, huh? That’s the entrance. Uh we can see Osaka station beautifully from here. Ticket cost 800 Japanese yen and oh h five’s ferris wheel is it stopped for maintenance check today. Oh that’s unfortunate. Well either way I’m afraid of the high place so I can’t ride it though. That’s okay. Let’s go back. From this elevator we can see the station beautifully too. Okay. This is the main entrance of hipfire building. There is a huge whale over here and also so many stores. Yep. Outside already gets darker. We are heading back to the Dura Square. This is one of the most popular intersection in Osaka station. There is an interesting view from there too. And we are entering to the JR Osaka station now. There are so many people but still many empty spot of coin lockers. Not that many travelers here but more salary months. This place that display there used to be a 3D animals already. I can’t remember what it was, but it quickly gone though. And I think they don’t play 3D animal stuff anymore. I think it was tiger maybe because it’s Osaka. And this is how usually Osaka station looks like during the rush hour time on the weekday. Just go upstairs and you will see where we are. Here we go. It’s almost Yes, we came back to the square of Luka. It’s almost 700 p.m. Oh my goodness. Beautiful sunset sky. Oh, what is that shining stuff over there? It looks like face. Let’s go check. Well, I have no idea what it is, but I guess it’s something artistic. Oh, the face is gone. And uh some new show started. Oh, now I realize that’s a clock. It is showing the time 7:02 by the human. Interesting. Also, there is a green bear sitting in front and we can see the moon beautifully from here. Let’s go behind these stairs. It is quiet and there is a place to place a cam too. Oh, wait. Seems like they are making something over here. But it’s okay. We can place a camera over here. It becomes 16° right now. No wonder it gets cooler. Anyways, hope everyone enjoys the video. In the next video, we are heading back to Tokyo and also we are heading to the other prefectures by the flight too. Yes, the finally golden week has overed and the town’s atmosphere gets much quiet. Usually, this quietness continues to until mid of July, which usually start the public school’s summer break. Until then, there is no big holidays, so the town’s atmosphere is quiet. Speaking of the weather, yes, we have a rainy season in Japan. According to the weather focus, this year’s tsuyu, which is the rainy season, will start from mid of June to early July. Usually those seasons are rainy season in Japan. So if you are visiting Japan during those seasons, don’t forget to bring the foldable umbrella so that you know you can use it conveniently or maybe you can just grab the you know umbrella at the company. Every convenience store have the umbrella price usually cost like you know less than 1,000 Japanese yen. So if you have too many stuff, yeah, you don’t have to bring the umbrella.
