🌋🏂 Riding down an active volcano in Japan | Asahidake, Hokkaido
Asahidake is 1 hour 20 minutes from Furano on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, and is best known for its steaming fumaroles and incredible powder (even by Japan’s standards).
Serviced by a tiny village and a single cable car, you’ll still find fresh tracks here days after a storm – especially if you’re willing to work for it.
Aside from four gentle groomed trails, this is serious backcountry terrain and is best explored with a guide – which we can book for you as part of a Furano ski holiday!
A few of our team have experienced this incredible and unique mountain, so get in touch for the best time to visit.
