How To Spend The Perfect Day In Hakuba Japan Itinerary πŸŒΈπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

This is your sign to plan a Japan ski trip in Hakuba because surprisingly it is way more affordable than snowboarding at home. Hi, we are Megan and Pat and we’re going to show you how to spend a perfect day snowboarding in Japan. Wake up at 700 or so for your hotel breakfast. We chose the Hapo 1 for the location, food, onen, and free courtesy shuttle. Grab some rental gear right on the hill. We got pants, goggles, helmet, gloves, and board with lift passes for $80. How crazy is that? The Hukuba area has 10 ski resorts. And we chose Hakuba Guru for its epic views. They even had a mountainside ramen, which is only $7, so you don’t need to pack a lunch. Board as much as you like, then head back to your hotel for an onsen. Onsens are Japan’s traditional hot springs. They are separated by gender, and they give you these cute robes and little towel baskets. They have their own set of rules, and you have to bathe completely naked. It’s a little weird at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly. After your onsen, head next door to Sushi Sakai for an incredible omocas. Omicas is a chef selection sushi plating and is something you absolutely have to try in Japan. The fish was so fresh and paired perfectly with the sake. Watching the chef work was an absolute privilege and very cool experience. While you’re in this area, make sure to plan a day to see the snow monkeys. They live in this outdoor hotring and are so

Accomm Ranges: $50usd-$150usd for two people with

Rental gear: we didn’t bring anything so we got pants, goggles, helmet, gloves and board with Lift passes for $80 USD. We wore our rain jackets as it was spring!

Hakuba

The hakuba area has 10 ski resorts and we chose hakuba goryu for its epic views! Most hotels will have free shuttles to the resorts, but there are buses too.

Accommodation:

You can get a hostel for about $30 for a dorm bed and budget hotels start at $50. We stayed at @thehappoone and it was about $120.

Food:

You can find anything in Hakuba. Prices vary, and you can eat cheaply from the Lawson’s right in town and ramen places are about $7. We tried the Omakase restaurant and it was about $70 each. Omakase is a chef’s selection sushi plating and it is something you absolutely have to try in Japan. We loved @sushisakai.

There are public onsens everywhere for under $10. Onsens are Japans traditional hotsprings. They are sperated by gender unless you find a private one. Our hotel had an included gender seperated onsen. They have their own set of rules and you have to bathe completely naked. It’s a little weird at first but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Snow Monkeys:

This is only a 3 hr day trip from Hakuba and is a must! They live in this out door hot spring and they are so cute. I wish we saw them in winter, but it was still pretty cool in spring.
