撮影を行った2018年は、9月に大型台風が２週連続で与論島近海を通過し与論島は大きな被害を被りました。
水中撮影を行ったのは翌月の10月、海中の珊瑚礁のほとんどが壊滅し、透明度もまだ回復しきれていない条件でしたが、
それでも与論島の水中は素晴らしい海でした。
