Japanese Street Food Tour Through Tokyo’s Newest Edo Seafood Market | Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai & Onsen

[Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] All right. Now, we’re going to take about a 15-minute walk over to where the Toyosu market is because we’re heading to a new Edeto period themed food court called the Toyosu Senaku Bry. Um, and just do a food crawl there. So, let’s go over there. All right, we’re on the bottom floor. You can kind of tell it’s like an Ed area, but I think the real thing is upstairs. So, we should probably head upstairs at Toyota Market. And then here we are. This is the Edeto Town theme court. So cool. Smells good. Tamagoyaki. Oh, so many shops just with like their food out on the floor. There’s so many restaurants here. Oh my gosh. Little outdoor seating, too, with the little watch tower above. Just look at the video games. All right, we’re going to figure out our food crawl strap. But now it starts now. Stopping by first stall that caught our eye. Some tuna skewers. Ordered a chuty fatty tuna skewer. A choro tuna skewer is about 800 yen. How is it? Good. You still taste the fattiness? No, cuz you see it’s like still kind of raw. It’s more like seared, I guess. That’s good. All right, I’ll try it. All right. Chutro tuna skewer. I don’t know. I like it. It’s more seared. All right. Let’s stop by the tomagoyaki store. Just look at them little. Can you get one? This 910. This is hot cuz they made it fresh. Yep. It’s the eel and tomago. How’s the eel? M. For about 900 yen, I think it’s the official barake that we saw at the other market we went to two years ago, too. Yeah, I think that tastes good. All right, let’s try the egg. Good. Sweet. It’s sweet. Yeah. M. That’s good. I think the eel is good. There’s not like too many bones, but it’s like the flavor is like not that strong. M. All right. Eel. It’s pretty melts in your mouth. Very little bones. Like barely any at all. All right. Yep. Tastes just like how I remembered 2 years ago. All right. So, we’re on the third floor now. And they actually have like a lot of sit down restaurants. And it’s definitely like a lot less crowded. So, I feel like it’s if you want to avoid the crowd, get a table. Definitely come up here and check out the restaurant. Ooh, what do we have? M. Dang. So much. Oh, the blue thin chew. They have hand rolls. Oh, wait. Hold up. I’m down for hand rolls. How much are they? About 800 to 1,000 yen. So, about 5 to six bucks USD. That’s okay if it’s actually quality. Want to try one? Let’s try some. All right. So, we just ordered the salmon ikura and the fatty tuna ham roll, and it came out to about 2,000 yen. Nice. Well, I guess this is Wow. Beef bowl. All the other side. So, nicely decorated. Tempuro got so many seafood bowls. Just so many restaurants. We’re probably going to get some udon and temper at the store. So, let’s get to it. Right. So, you place your order first with the chef and then you grab your tempura. Sarah’s doing right here and then you pay at the counter. So we got our food. I have some of the hand rolls that we just bought. Salmon and ukra and then we got a fatty tuna. And what did we get over here? I got the hot soba with the shrimp and the squid tempura. Nice. And we got a nice seat right here in the center of the market. Just a people watch. All right, let’s try the hot soda. I feel like this is maybe the first time we had hot soba. Probably overseas. Yeah, good. Nice. Let’s try a tempura. It’s got the shrimp. Dip it in the sauce. Take a bite. I mean, not bad. It is just kind of like room temperature cuz it’s just like sitting out there for the tempura. That was good. Yeah. Like this one’s not as crunchy. All right, for the hand roll. It’s a little bit smaller than I would have liked, but let’s try. Oh, it’s coming out. Mhm. The fire tuna is good. I do got to say though, at about 800 yen per one, it’s definitely much smaller and less filling than what I would have wanted, but it’s still pretty good. I’m going to do the salmon and ekur. Oh, yeah. If you love ikura, they filled this in with so many balls. This one’s actually pretty good. I actually don’t mind paying about what was it like a,000 800 to,000 for this. Those are actually pretty good. All right, try one of the matcha cafes. A nice sit down interior order by kiosk. That’s a special though. All right, what we got? Like they have like a Sunday typical dessert. Yeah, let’s go to beverage. I probably take a cold. You want eight? Oh, let’s do the shizoka preference matcha. Yeah. Yeah. And then what are you going to get? Okay. If you’re getting this cold, then maybe I’ll just get this. Or should I get a hoji cha? Get a hoji chow. I’ll get a hoji ch. All right, let’s go. 1,200. Nice little souvenir shop here, too. Dang. Oh, that’s cool. They have a sake vending machines over here if you want to stand and sip. All right, what we got? All right, we got the hojicha latte that’s hot. And then a cold matcha latte. I think this is specifically the matcha from Shizuka Prefecture. All right, give it a try. Oh, that’s strong. Yeah, I love me a strong one. Is it bitter or sweet? It’s bitter. Okay. Yeah. Better mo. All right, let’s try the hoji cha latte. This is like roasted. Actually, I’m going to try it like this. Nice. This one’s like creamy. Nice. All right. So, in the corner of the market, we have the foot bath on the eighth floor, and it should be free to use. Can your towels for 200 y and then we just enter. It’s actually good weather for a foot bath right now. Oh my gosh. Look, look at the skyline of Tokyo. Wow. Oh wow. Such a good view. It’s crazy. But it’s like everyone has to sit on this side cuz everyone wants to see the view. So that’s kind of the it stretch of a foot bath right along here. Honestly, this was a clear day. You could get a pretty darn nice view of Tokyo from here. How’s the water? It’s actually not bad. I was afraid it was going to be like too hot, but it’s like really good. It’s like warm. Yeah. Yeah. Where’s like not like burning your food here? Mhm. That actually feels really good. It’s more akin to like a um like a hot tub in America. It’s not like burning like an onsen. But yeah, no, this is really good and relaxing and it’s free and you can just bring your own towel if you wanted to or just coming for the views. All right. There’s a little market area kind of like in the behind the restaurants. Going to go through. It’s kind of crowded, but yeah, there’s some shops here, too. All right. And that was our time here at the new Edeto Period Food Court here. Um, overall, I kind of like it more than the fish market, which I feel has turned into a big tourist trap. It’s so crowded. But here you can find like, you know, like street food, sit down restaurants, and the top floor, you know, I felt like had a lot of locals. Yeah. I feel like this one was easier to navigate than the fish market. Oh, yeah. Thei fish market cuz the other one was kind of a maze. It was super crowded, but this one was fine. And the foot bath’s nice. It’s so nice. Like a free foot bath. Um, you can buy a towel, bring your own, and get a sky view of, you know, Tokyo and Da. Yeah, that was our quick lunch. Hope you guys enjoyed this short vlog and we’ll see you guys on the next Japan adventure. [Music] [Applause] [Music]
