United Airlines has officially become the first-ever US carrier to fly to Mongolia after touching down at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) on May 1, 2025.
The inaugural flight, UA 7, departed George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) at 10:11 local time on April 30, 2025, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. It arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) after a 14-hour flight at 14:35 local time on May 1, 2025.
The onward flight to Ulaanbaatar used a B737-800 aircraft, which departed Tokyo at 16:35 local time. The plane touched down in Mongolia at 21:16 local time after an almost six-hour flight.

Mongolia is one of the eight new destinations added by United to its 2025 trans-Atlantic summer schedule.
Other destinations the airline is flying to starting May 2025 include Nuuk International Airport (GOH) in Greenland, Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) in Senegal and Palau International Airport (ROR).
“No other airline gives customers nonstop access to as many unique international destinations and experiences from the U.S. as United,” said Patrick Quayle, United Airlines Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances when announcing the new route expansions in October 2024.
