Things to do in Kyoto
π Sagano Romantic Train
One of the best ways to experience the beauty of Kyoto. The Sagano Romantic Train runs along the Hozugawa River and is beautiful in any season. It is recommended you book in advance as tickets do sell out. We went from Saga Torrokko station to Kameoka Torokko Station. A one way journey is approximately 20 minutes. They also have photo services for a fee and a free audio guide when you are on the train. For more information check out the link:

πArashiyama
Arashiyama is famous for the Bamboo Grove but there is actually a lot more to the place. One of my favourite things to do is to eat at cafes and streetfood!
πGion
Famous for being Kyotoβs geisha district, this place has so many restaurants that are definitely worth a visit!
β©οΈ Fushimi Inari
One of Japanβs most iconic shrines because of the thousands of tori gates
π΅ Uji
Uji is a must visit if you go to Kyoto. It is only about 20 minutes from Kyoto station with Fushimi Inari on the way. Uji is famous for green tea. It was such a nice place to get away from the busy Kyoto city center.
π΄ Byodo-in Temple
One of the most stunning temples I have been to. This temple is featured on the 10 yen coin.
π― Kinkakuji
Known as the Golden Pavilion, this peaceful temple is amazing to look at.
β©οΈKiyomizu-dera
Probably the most famous temple in Kyoto, this is definitely a must visit for beautiful views of Kyoto.
πOkazaki Shrine
The most adorable shrine, with lots of bunnies!
π―π΅ Toji Temple
Japanβs tallest wooden pagoda that you can get up close to.

Good stuff. Thx. Maybe a vid on options for places to stay and eat in Kyoto, from budget to high end. Thx again!
Thank you for posting this video, I went to half the places you mentioned, but some I didn't get a chance to go, but will check them out on my next trip up to Kyoto.
Can't believe this travel vlogger has been the person that helped me 100% exploration in Genshin Impact πππ

Excellent video, thank you for sharing.
Where ever you walk you set off the female alarms or detectors with your RFID passport! Whatever you do, don't post the words "ten" and "Kyoto" together while in halfway housing.
Say no to being a Kyoto Suicide Doll.
Toji temple is now 1000 yen for entry, as of Dec 2024, i was there today, didnt want to pay that amount just to walk around it when i can view it from outside

I am Japanese. I am happy that people enjoy Japan's culture and nature.
However… I would like people to also respect Japan's nature and culture.
There are far too many foreigners with bad manners.
Japanese service is appreciated by people overseas because of our gratitude and spirit of consideration for others. Not littering, using facilities cleanly.
To us, these are natural things.
I would like people to cherish this spirit.
I would like people from overseas who come to Japan to know about this and this spirit.
Thank you.
We love you Kim!

I am surprised you didn't mention Tenryu-ji, it has a unique Japanese garden and a Unesco World Heritage site. You speak highly of Gion and Shirakawa/stream. But you were right. There are so many more things to see.
Do you do tours?
@kimdao, can you recommend a tour guide for 2 people in April?
Very helpful videos. Crisp and Clear – Thank you. Can you also highlight how you travelled between these places? Taxi, Bus, Walking?
Loved the video! To do everything you recommend, how many days did you need?
so everything is going to early? This is ridiculous
Hello, I was looking at the romantic saga train tickets, there is no timetable, it means it is like a hop on hop off bus? I can take anytime during the day,is it frequent? Thank you
Hi Kim! How many days did it take to cover these places? Are you able to give me an idea how you grouped them in a day? Thanks!
What about Bishamondo Temple?
I just wanted to thank you for all your videos about Japan, I am an 80 year old man and will never travel to see Japan in person so I am very greatful.
