Ryokan Sanga / Kurokawa onsen, Minami Oguni Kumamoto JAPAN | 4K Vlog of Private Onsen Ryokan

I stayed at Ryokan Sanga in Kurokawa Onsen, Minamioguni-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture.

This inn is a secret hot spring inn that was once a member of the Japan Society for Preserving Secret Hot Springs. After enjoying Nabegataki, the most beautiful waterfall in Kumamoto, and Manganji Onsen, known as the most embarrassing hot spring in Japan, I strolled around Kurokawa Onsen, which I visited for the first time. Sanga is a single inn standing in the forest, about a 5-minute drive from the very back of the hot spring town. It is a great hot spring inn for hot spring lovers, with seven baths on a vast site dotted with the main house and detached buildings.

This was one of the inns I couldn’t miss when planning my first hot spring tour of Kyushu.

The quaint main building has a structure that gives off a sense of history. However, the interior has been beautifully renovated, and the energetic staff welcomes you in a comfortable space that doesn’t feel historical. I was traveling alone, but the proprietress and others were very kind to me during my stay, and I was treated really well during my stay.

When you leave the building, you will see a row of detached buildings and hot spring facilities, but among them there is a small rest area and foot bath, creating a space that makes you feel the hospitality of guests. Although it is an inn with only 16 guest rooms, it has a large open-air bath, an indoor bath, and three private baths, creating the best environment to have the hot spring all to yourself. Many rooms have hot springs, and for me who prefers large public baths, it is a wonderful inn where I can enjoy the hot spring alone. I spent most of my stay in the luxury of soaking in the hot spring.

Hot springs where you can easily enjoy two sources. Spring No. 1 is a simple sulfur spring, and Spring No. 2 has three types of spring quality. They look different, and if you want to feel the slight sulfur smell and metallic scent, you can take a bath in Spring No. 1, and the beautiful bluish Spring No. 2 can be enjoyed visually in the large open-air bath, so you can enjoy each hot spring in a different way.

The meals served in the room are also beautifully presented, making for a wonderful presentation that will never tire you, and a reward for your body. We were also treated to the Kumamoto specialty horse meat, which we had forgotten to enjoy the day before. Thank you very much.

This is a wonderful inn where you can experience the atmosphere of a high-class inn, even though it is a hidden hot spring. I am really looking forward to visiting again next time. I would like to visit again in the deep green season next time.
