My Top 10 Things to Do in Osaka | Hidden Spots & Food Tour with Japanese Guide

So, you coming to Osaka and want to eat like local, drink like local, and party like local. But here’s the thing. Osaka is huge. And if you don’t know where to go, you will end up at the same touristy spot eating boring takoyaki. Maybe. That’s why in this video, I’m showing you my personal top 10 places in Osaka. Hidden bars, late night ramen, cheapies, and a white local spot. you will never find in the guide book. I am show and this is show me Japan. I will show Japan. Let’s get started. The best way to start an Osaka adventure. Eat your way through our morning market. First up is Chroma Market. When you come to Osaka, I’m sure you’ll visit here at least once. But there are so many shops you might not know where to go, right? Recently there are more expensive shop for tourists. So you have to be little careful. My recommendation is fugu sashimi which is puffer fish and pickle vegetables. Normally you have to go to fancy restaurant to eat puff fish and it’s a bit pricey but here you can enjoy it casually at the reasonable price. If you want to try puffer fish but don’t want to go to fancy place this is the perfect spot. Um, this is really good. The texture itself is super unique and it’s not smell at all. I like this. Personally, I don’t like I know the fatty fish, those kind of stuff. So, this one is less faty animal flesh, you know. This is really good. And here in Japan, we eat the puffer fish. I mean, like this one is a poison fish, but those kind of restaurant we serve like puffer fish. They have licenses, so you won’t die. So yeah, let’s give it a try. And about the pico vegetable, I seriously recommend it. You might think why pico instead of the wagu or fatty tuners and something, but trust me, try this. Japanese pico are really delicious. So please try them. The more you chew, the more taste comes out from the cucumber. You can hydrate yourself as well. So especially in summer, I really wanted to try this. Love this cheap, healthy Japanese taste. Want to go to iconic Osaka old town? You can enjoy arcades and a day drinking is totally acceptable here. Next up is Shinskai. Shinskai is about 20 minutes from Osaka station at Tsutenka Tower is a famous landmark here. You can also enjoy arcade games in the area. But be careful. Some street are a little bit adult only. So if you come with kids, watch out. There are many small food shop too. And you can snack on kushi katsu easily. Kushkata is a different skewers which is super iconic food from Osaka too. Some people even start drinking from noon here. So if you want to drink all day in Osaka, maybe you should start here. glass. Sure. This is the best. It’s so good. Get back to do body for snack time. Nothing beats fresh takoyaki straight off the grill. Next up is wanaka. Speaking of Osaka, it’s all about takoyaki. Let me explain a bit about takoyaki. It’s a ballshaped snack with octopus inside. My bartender friends from Osaka recommended Wanaka as a best place to try. It’s a perfect for when you’re a little hungry. The regular takoyaki is great, but sambbe sandwich style is super Osaka like and a delicious too. Oh, and don’t forget to grab a beer with it. Cheers. Best This is quite nice. It’s crunky. It’s quite good. Best combination ever. Ready to see how locals eat in Osaka? Day and night, this place got you covered. Next up is TMA. It’s about 20 minutes by train from Doon Buri, one of my absolute favorite areas. You can enjoy it both day and night, which is awesome. For lunch, I recommend a sushi restaurant called Haruga. Apparently, Bonji even visited. You have to write your order on paper, but they have English menu, so no worries. Just know there is usually line, so you have to wait at least 10 to 20 minutes, sometime 30 minutes. From evening to night, it’s all about drinking. One place you absolutely have to visit is Horumong Kawamura. The owner is super nice and accommodating and their hot pot is incredible. Not just the meat, you cannot miss finishing with udon noodles either. So, I love TMA because it’s super reasonable and you might even get to drink with locals. If you want to really immerse yourself, go to TMA. This is really nice. If you haven’t done sauo in Osaka or you don’t know what sambero is, next up is Super [ __ ] If you want to drink cheap for a th00and yen $7, this is the place. On weekdays from 6:00 p p.m. to 8:00 p.m., you can get two drinks and two food dishes for just 1,000 yen, $7. Just a heads up, sauo is once per person per day. I recommend ordering hayiki, a strong drink, and yaki tori chicken skewer. But honestly, what makes this place awesome isn’t just the deal. It’s the atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and welcoming and the customers too. Everyone’s warm and kind. If you want to drink with local, this place is must. Come by. Come by. Come by. Step into a bar full of creative cocktails and a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for mingling. Next up is Osaka Cocktail Library, Akasik Records. Here they make cocktails based on your taste preference. But it’s not just making a drinks. The performance is insane. My recommendation is a liquid nitrogen cocktail. It’s more like serve it than a drink, but it still gets you drunk. Also, if you ring the door on your table, they’ll serve you a shot, so be careful. Cheers. Salute. I don’t know. Imagine 40 bars pocket into one building. Sounds crazy, right? Welcome to next level Osaka night life. Next up is Nepo Royal building. This building is packed with unique bars from food bars to show bars to place open till morning. If you’re feeling lazy and don’t want to move around, just come here and bop all night inside the building. Eat some tempera or yaki first. Then enjoy drinks while watching shows. Some places are open till morning. So if you don’t know where to go, just come here. Honestly, I usually come here in the middle of the night after drinking. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wait, this Smart drinkers plan ahead and that means some serious hangover prevention. Not just drinking. Next up is Shijimi Ramen. Just a 3 minutes walk from Nepo Royal building, there is a hidden ramen spot. I found it by accident one night totally drunk on my way back to the hotel. The clump broth is super tasty and refreshing. Ramen can sometimes feel heavy, but this one is really light. Even girls can easily finish it. Plus, sisimi like clumps are famous for helping with hangovers. My recommendation is the ramen plus the clum bros rice bowl. Honestly, you can eat it not just after drinking it but before drinking it too. when you drink till morning 24/7 ramen 2 a.m. I’m still alive. He’s still alive and I think I am still alive but um you know I’m hungry right now. So, uh, let’s get ramen out there. Next up is Kyu Ramen. Kind Ramen is one of the most famous ramen spot in Osaka. If you come to Osaka, you got to try it at least once. They have five locations around Doonburi and Shinsai area and most are open 24/7. Founded in 1982, it’s a real iconic of Osaka nightife. Their hanom soup and noodle is just amazing. If you are serving in the early morning or late night, this is a place. How long you been here for? So good. I love this ramen. Actually, I like like any like night with ramen is the best, you know. All sak’s breakfast or all second morning cure. How about a simple bowl of udon. Next up is tasa. Open from around 9:00 a.m. Tasa is a proper Osaka udon shop. Super cheap and soba start from just 200 yen. That means around a dollar. And they have a huge menu. My personal favorite is ume wakame udong, which is plum and seaweed. It’s super refreshing and not heavy at all. Perfect for breakfast. And honestly, every time I come to Osaka, I end up hung over. So, I visit here a lot. That was really good. So, every time I come Osaka, I always go there. But here’s heads up. But they only accept cash. They don’t have they don’t accept any card. So you have to bring any so you have to bring the cash. Okay. That’s my personal top 10 things to do in Osaka from fresh fugu in the market and I go to shins kai and day drinking at tma and coming back to central area for drinking and ramen and morning to udon praise. Some people might say my top 10 has no history of places, just the food and drinks. Yes, that’s true. But personally, I think Osaka is the best place for food and drinks.
