48 Hours Alone in Okinawa – Was It Safe, Soulful, or Both?🌺✨
[Music] Jesus let me know but he show no vision here but she’s still going to hold on here but she doesn’t Hey y’all welcome back. It’s your girl Christy Adora. And before we dive into Okinawa and all the warmth, the color in the island soul, let me take you back for just a second. My last day in Tokyo left me spiritually uplifted in a way I didn’t expect. I visited a Christian church tucked in the heart of the city and y’all worshiping in Japan felt different. It reminded me that healing doesn’t stop just because you’re on a trip. That moment gave me so much peace. Guys, I also dropped a few Tokyo survival tips for my fellow first timers or rather you’ve been in Japan and you just want to see what I’m talking about. Go check out that video first. Now, let’s get back to the regular schedule program. And now we landed in Okinawa, the tropical switch up. Exactly what I needed. So, y’all remember how my phone barely made it out of Tokyo after the Sanoji Temple top? Yeah, it only got worse in Okinawa, guys. The moment I landed in Naja, my phone started glitching bad. And spoiler, it only got more chaotic from there. But first, we stepped off the plane and left the cold air behind and Okinawa greeting me with sunshine, palm trees, and the sweet breezy island energy. People call it the Hawaii of Japan, but honestly, that doesn’t sit right with me because Hawaii is beautiful in its own right, okay? And so is Okinawa. Let them shine individually. Okinawa actually consists of 160 islands, guys, with about 11 major cities on Okinawa Island itself. and the very first place for cherry blossoms. Each offers something different from the historical richness of Naja to the stunning beaches of Nago to the rugged cliffs of Cape Monzamo. For this trip, I chose to stay in Naja, the capital city because of the convenience for my next adventures and also to the variety of things to do nearby. The vibe here when I went in the winter during the off season, it was chill. Like it was like in the 60s, upper 60s, breezy and full of life and not overwhelming. The weather reminded me so much of back home with the rain. One minute is raining, the next minute is bright and sunshiny again. Definitely keep an umbrella handy because it will switch up on you quick. That part made me nostalgic, like I was overdue for another trip back home. After grabbing my bag, I hopped into my Uber and my driver pulled up wearing a Kadushi shirt. It’s a shirt that’s made in Okinawan and it’s not to be mistaken with the Hawaii version of Aloha shirt. It is totally different and also it was definitely different from the suited up drivers in Tokyo. And now the vibe was relaxed and warm and I was feeling it. Finding a hotel capsule though, that was bit of an adventure. It was tucked off in a quiet street. But when we got there, guys, I was finally excited to finally experience what I didn’t get to in Tokyo. I will be doing a full capsule versus regular hotel comparison in a separate video, so stay tuned. So, I got settled, but now it’s late. Some debating conveni on McDonald’s. So for my child, I ended up at McDonald’s, guys. [Music] [Music] Wow. The wall. I had to try the shrimp burger chocolate pie a salad in Japan’s version of fish fillet. Now the shrimp burger chef’s kiss 10 out of 10 McDonald’s in USA. You need to add this to you guys menu immediately. Okay, you would get all my business if the chocolate pie for me was a 8 out of 10. Surprisingly, it was rich, crispy, and good. The fish fillet, it surprised me. It ended up being a 3.5 out of 10 for me cuz honestly, no. It just it just didn’t taste good to me and I had to move along. I do not hate many things, but paper straws, I hate those. So, trying the melon Fanta, it’s like a 7.5 out of 10 for me. I get it, but paper straws suck. They get soggy too quick. You hear that? On to the coup. White grape. I wanted to like it, but five out of 10. I guess this is where me talking bad about the soda backfired. Let’s get a replay. [Music] along the salad. It was a salad. So, I’d rate that a five out of 10. And then the fries, those were so good. The streets were more active than I expected. Downtown Naja was popping. They have street performers, musicians, and rappers and have flash for their shows and CDs. And I even saw someone dressed in the sumu wrestler costume playf fighting with people. And it was chaotic in like the best way possible. Now, here’s where stuff started shifting again, cuz there was a Michelin star restaurant I really wanted to try in Okinawa, but they were closed on the exact days I was there. Offse scheduling gutted wasn’t even the word of how I felt, guys. It was like, back at the capsule hotel, I settled in. No shoes inside, quiet halls, and you guys know I’m suckering for a place that is super clean. It was peaceful and just what I needed to reset. I got up early the next morning to get ready for something special I had been looking forward to. Guys, I’m going to be dressing up in a traditional yo. I’m excited, guys. Okay, I’m calm now. I’m calm now. But are you guys surprised? Did you see my reaction when I first landed in Japan, guys? Like, I’ve been wanting to go here forever. I already told you guys I was going to move here for 5 years. Like, I just admire their culture a lot. Since I missed the Kimono rickshaw experience in Tokyo, I was super excited for this experience. Did you know that Okinawa has its own language? Uchina Guuchi. It’s older than Japanese and still used by locals, though it takes years to fully understand or speak fluently. But I love that and how they have preserved their heritage. I book my studio experience through the Cluke app at the Yo Studio in Churin in Nah City. Getting there though, all I can say is the Uber driver couldn’t quite find the exact location, so I asked them to drop me off nearby, close enough. But y’all, I ended up getting a mini workout trying to figure out where I was. The shop was so easy to miss. It was tucked away like a little secret. But fortunately, using my little bit of Japanese helped me so much here. A few locals I asked pointed me to the right direction and they did it with smiles. But the most helpful one was this kawaii elderly lady who just ended up leaving her shop for a moment and she walked me to the specific location. She was so kawaii and all I can say to her is zas because that type of hospitality she didn’t have to help me and she chose to do that and that’s why I tell you guys learning Japanese even if it’s not a lot will help you in a lot of situations. This is how pre-planning pays off. So when you go somewhere try to learn the language and this is how it helped me not miss my booking. Around this studio, you’ll find peaceful streets, cozy cafes, little souvenir shops, and quiet parks. It’s tucked away to feel authentic enough, but close enough to major points like Cuckai Street, Naha’s main shopping and food hub. I was still exhausted and jet-lagged from super stacking my days in Tokyo because of my bookings getting messed up. And honestly, I chose not to cram my days here. I did a little bit here and there, but I just vibed with Okinawa slower rhythm. The women at the studio were so sweet. They got me dressed and told me I look kawaii and sent me out into the city shining right after my mini photo shoot. Made sure to wear it respectfully and not cosplay, guys. Just cultural appreciation. my first solo mission just to go out and about in the city. And while out and about in myo, I got a lot of compliments. A lot of people were telling me how kawaii I looked. I even had couples and males and stuff telling me how kawaii I was, and that was pretty cool. But the coolest thing I passed by was a giant shisha with its mouth wide open. Fun fact, openmouth shishas ward off evil spirits while closed mouth shishas keep good vibes in. I love that dual meaning. Protect your peace and hold on to your joy, too. At this point, my phone started tripping again and not giving you the footage that I needed. The struggle to record was now real, but I made it work the best that I could. the question cuz you know I am in my solo traveler phase. Is Okinoa safe for a solo travel especially a female. So this is my opinion. I always tell you guys do your own research okay when it comes for what works for you. My only concern when I went here was is that they speak their own language. They speak uchaguchi which is an older dialect that’s older than Japanese and a lot of elderly people speak and is widely spoken by Okinawans here. So I was concerned cuz like what happens if I go to a place or some place too far in Okinawa where they mostly speak uchi and my little bit of Japanese doesn’t work. What do I do? But everything worked out well. For me, traveling solo in Okinawa was a unique kind of freedom. I felt safe, but also too, like I always tell you guys, be aware of your surroundings. So, I felt safe and was very aware, especially in more tucked away areas. The vibe was more communal here. People watch you, but not in an invasive way. It’s more like curiosity wrapped in quiet respect. One thing I loved the most was how much Okinawa’s heritage is still very much alive. From hearing fragments of uchi naguchi spoken on the street to seeing traditional foods like Goya churo, a stirfry with bitter melon, Okinawa soba, as well as modern dishes like taco rice. Yes, taco rice or taco risu. It felt like I was in a different world completely. But I loved it. And oh, and those sea [Music] grapes crunchy, salty, and it was just you have to try them at least once. Now in January, they are around, but they are more popular during the later months like May, August. So definitely try the Okinawa Wy groups while you are there. Even in the winter, people hit up the beach. The water was cooler than I expected, but it wasn’t too bad, but still swimmable. But something about dipping your toes in the ocean in mid January feels rebellious, but in the best way. I promise. Getting around in Okinawa is definitely easier by car or Uber, especially if you’re staying off the main strip. Public transportation does exist, but it is limited compared to Tokyo. If you’re coming here solo, plan for that and budget for ride share or even a rental. But the roads are chill and navigation honestly was surprisingly not stressful. Okinawa was the chill vibe that I needed and it owes me nothing. Now, if you are planning to come here, try to give yourself more than 2 to 4 days to stay because it’s not enough time at all. You’re going to be like, “Oh my gosh.” So, don’t do it. Okinawa is definitely a place to travel. If you’re looking to do offse, just be prepared for things to be closed. Despite my phone glitching and acting up on me, Okinawa was needed to reset from my busy time in Tokyo. Next up, I’ll be breaking down my capsule hotel in Okinawa versus my regular hotel experience in Tokyo. And then y’all, it’s time. I’m boarding my first ever solo cruise in Japan. [Laughter] a cruise in Japan. Cella cruise in Japan. Solo cruise in Japan. Call me Miss do too much and it’s okay. Solo cruise in Japan. Solo cruise. Oh, I’m so excited. I cannot wait for you guys to come along with me. And again too, I’m coming to a place where I’ve have things I like and I’m okay with being called saying I do too much. I’m just going to be misdo too much. I work hard. I should be able to enjoy life, right? Yeah, I think so. So, solo crews in Japan. Solo crew. If this video resonated with you, drop a comment and let me know what part of Okinawa surprised you the most or what you’d love to explore. If you want, don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe and subscribe for more soulful adventure, healing, and purpose adventure. And now, before I end this video, I’m going to do the thing that I always do with you guys. Just because you’re going through a difficult situation doesn’t mean that you lay there and you stay there. Feel your human emotions. Come up with a solution and then you get get it. I’m rooting for you to win. You can do this. Chrissy Adora out. This too decent. Scale of 1 to 10. She a 10 piece. He was the only one with the groupies.

48 Hours Alone in Okinawa – Was It Safe, Soulful, or Both?🌺✨
============================================================
Solo travel in Okinawa wasn’t just a vibe — it was a reset.
After the intensity of Tokyo, I landed in Okinawa and immediately felt a shift. The warmth, the slower pace, the sea breeze… I finally got to breathe.
In this episode, I’m slowing down, soaking in the island soul of Naha, and reflecting on what it means to travel solo for the first time — especially as a woman on a healing journey.
From capsule hotel adventures and dressing in traditional Ryūsō, to shrimp burgers at McDonald’s 🍔. Then getting lost and cultural moments you can’t script — This wasn’t the Pinterest-perfect version of travel — this was real, raw, and soulful.
Pretty much the Chrissy Adora Way..lol
