Homeless in Japan…
home sweet home and then hopefully wake up the next morning. I already checked the weather forecast and it can go as low as minus 2. That’s the issue when we travel full time and trying to create content that there’s things in life that we can’t manage. I’ve just seen the Japanese Alps and they are so beautiful. Google Maps just sending us to a road where it doesn’t exist. Fully fully blocked by the snow. Thank you. Welcome back to a new video in Japan. Today is a different one because we weren’t sure if record a video to know. If I’m honest, not even I know what I said there. A video to know. But for the next few days, we will be homeless. Bubba, share with the people why. Sleeping in the car in Japan. And tonight is going to be our first night. We’re also already quite ill and it’s really cold. So, we’ve been staying at a Rio. if you don’t know what it is. So, if you want to see it inside, make sure you watch our previous videos. But it’s basically a Japanese traditional hotel. And we are going to take you on what our first day sleeping in the car will be like. So, it’s going to be a lot of vlogging. It’s going to be a lot of abs. Most likely a lot of dance because well, you you explain what’s the plan of the day. Well, the plan is to just make ourselves from where Fuji is to Hakuba. That’s where the ski station is because we want to be there bright and early tomorrow morning to start skiing straight away. But today, instead of taking the highway, which is what we’ve been doing, we’re going to be taking the scenic route. So, there’s going to be a lot of pretty scenery in this video as well. We are off to a great start. This shoes, I’ve had them for what I don’t know how long I’ve had them for, but I’ve definitely been with these shoes longer than with Carol. A and you can see they are absolutely destroyed. But we can throw them. We’ve bought instead our new shoes. So sexy are it’s not even sponsored brand. It’s nothing. I just absolutely love these shoes. And this will be my new trainers. The one that will take me to the future and beyond. Now the first stop of the day. We’ve just been mapping out the plan for today and we decided to start off with breakfast in ah and we decided to start off with breakfast in this amazing supermarket we discovered yesterday. We are feeling so ill. My throat really hurts. I wouldn’t say the word scared, but tonight obviously we are going to a higher altitude in the mountains. We tried looking for duvets, um sleeping bags. We couldn’t find any. So realistically, we are going to survive from wearing what we are wearing, praying that the car has good insulation at night and then hopefully wake out the next morning. That was a bit dark. Yeah, that looks really good. The road trip starts. First stop will be in three hours. Let’s go. [Music] as Carl predicted right at the beginning of today’s day. This drive is being so beautiful, so scenic. Right now towards the left, we are seeing a mountain covered by blossom, cherry blossoms. What a shot. Wait one second. Yep. Now it’s absolutely gorgeous. Japan just doesn’t stop surprising us. We just need to decide what city we will be living in the next few years in Japan. Guys, we are driving towards the light. No more dark clouds. It’s all sunshine. I’m so happy because that means that most likely tomorrow when we ski, we’re just going to be able to see the whole mountains. The most beautiful shots ever. I’m just hoping that it snows because it’s going to be so cute with the snow. Oh my god, it will definitely be very cute. And we’ve definitely come down uh from the mountain because now it’s 8° so the temperature has gone up. But when we go up to the Japanese Alps, I’m expecting it to be like one to minus two degrees. I already checked the weather forecast and it can go as low as minus2. I’m really excited. We’ve done a quick pit stop at what seems to be a very humongous station. Car right now is over there in the toilets, but you’ve got all this parking. But guys, so tiring just being on the road, especially I’m not sure how it is all around Japan, but the roads here have a very conservative speed limit. We we are following always the rules, don’t get me wrong, but when you drive at such slow speed on like very long and straight roads, don’t know. I just zone off and start getting tired. How are you feeling? Good. I’m loving the road trip. Shut up. like 30 sec like 2 minutes before we got here. You were like, “I’m so tired.” Yawning. What? I’m loving the road trip. Just cuz I’m tired. I’m not loving it. We’re singing in the car jumping and then it’s like sunny and then it’s raining. I love it. I love it. All over the place. By the way, I just thought about it. We bought microwavable rice. There’s no microwave, so it’s just going to be meat. But we can eat it cold, right? This is what we got. We’ve got a portion of pork, which looks very nice. and a portion of meat. Meat? Yeah. Chicken. This place is incredible. This is a go-karting circuit in the middle of a road station. Obviously, it’s not working now. Imagine because it’s raining. I so wish I could beat your ass on this circuit. Goart. Oh, look how the go-kart looks as well. It’s like literally like a car with two seats. We’ve also got a natural history museum. We knew there was there was going to be a stamp. That’s why we brought a stamp book with hundreds of stamps. What? West side. It’s a bit in English. Route 20. Now that’s cool. It’s so cool. Oh, okay. That’s a road. This is a road. This is Route 20. This is where we are. That’s a kids playground where we just were 1 second ago. That’s really cool. This road station has everything except a bloody microwave. We’re just going to eat cold food in the car. It’s a carrot. No way. It’s a humongous carrot. Best produce in Japan. We’ve now got a 2hour drive before we get to this place where there’s going to be an onsen. Did you know about that? No, but I also don’t want to get excited because I was extremely hyped about this place and not even a microwave. Me, too. Me, too. But the next place is going to have an onsen and Wi-Fi. So, I think that’s going to be the place where we’re going to stick around for the night. Maybe not sleep because they might not have enough space, but we will try and sleep there. Warning. If you have sensitive ears, please lower the volume of your device for the next clip. I’ve just seen the Japanese Alps and they are so beautiful. It’s actually right there. Can you see it? Yeah. Just behind 7-Eleven. No. Oh, no. Oh, there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Isn’t it beautiful? That’s insane. You probably can’t even see on the camera, but it is so beautiful. Oh, wait. You can see it. You can see it. That’s where we’ll be, baby. Let’s go. Fist pump. Fist pump. Oh my god. [Music] You’re not going to believe it, but we are in the place with the onsen. And the reason I was saying you’re not going to believe it is because there’s no snow, absolutely nothing. Now, we did say that we were going to bring you along through our ups and down. And right now, we’ve got a dilemma. Either we stay here and we risk it going to a ski resort without any snow or we drive even further and hopefully get a ski resort with a lot of snow. I think we are going to do the second one. But we’ve been driving pretty much the whole day. It’s been what about 5 to 6 hours driving. We are extremely exhausted. It’s only 5:28. So we have the whole evening ahead and we have more driving to do. It’s not even that cold as well. No. No, look at my shoes. Baby, new shoes. Crap. Check. Still going. But yes, the the mood is a little bit down. I We We came all the way here. And if we don’t get to ski, it’s just we went to Mount Fuji. There was no Mount Fuji. We coming to ski. There snow. That’s like my my eyes are watering because I’ve been so excited to ski. That’s that’s the issue when we travel full time and trying to create content that there’s things in life that we can’t manage. It’s not up to us whether it happens or not, but we’re going to try our best. Let’s go. There’s a ski slope. This is such a Look, look to the left. It’s such a beautiful scenery. Feels like a movie. But yeah, over there where Carl said, we can see a cable car. So, that’s good news. I mean, it looks like a solid ski slope, but we are hoping for some variety, not just one. Especially because we haven’t ski/ snowboard in a year, over a year now. So, we need to start off with the basics. Just a a chill piss as they call it, and then we can progress. Speak for yourself, please. All right. It’s not going to be in this video, but you need to watch the next video where I will be doing back flips. I’m super excited. Yeah. I don’t want to spoil it. Oh god. Google Maps just sending us to a road where it doesn’t exist. Fully fully blocked by the snow. Thank you. That’s why you shouldn’t use Google Maps. No, Google Maps has been great to us. Stop it. Say sorry. So, we made it to the location where we will be skiing tomorrow. This is the spot. Like we went to Hakuba Station and it was not really enough snow. So, we said, “Let’s keep going.” And this couldn’t be more perfect. This Okay, wait. Not this. I’m sorry, but it’s behind these bungalows. You can’t see from here, but the snow looks super fluffy and thick. I mean, I’m so excited. Like, words are not even coming out anymore. But we wanted to explore slightly because we’ve seen these bangalows and they are abandoned. We have been seeing a lot of abandoned things like buses, trains, and now houses. I already told Max, we’re not messing about with like haunted houses and spirits because Japan doesn’t mess about with those things. Let’s check the door of this one. It’s open. That means come in. But you have waterproof shoes. I don’t. Oh, look. Pretty much all tilted the house. Konichi, stop. Oh, this one. The snow door here. The snow is very thick and hard, but sometimes we go slightly in. Hello. I keep hearing a pretty much empty. I imagine this used to be for people when they came to snow or ski. when they came to snow, when they came to ski, they would stay here. But they don’t look very insulated. Look at that. Look at the ice block. Maybe that’s why the the houses are falling down. It looks like it could be better than sleeping in the car. Yeah. Do you want to just go in there? We may sneak into one of these. We’re now going to check the one at the top, which is much, much bigger. There are more abandoned ones here. That one doesn’t even have a roof. It’s fully destroyed. the ceiling on the roof is falling. It says stop, keep out. We won’t go in because that will pretty much be breaking the law. We don’t want to break the law in Japan. Everyone has been amazing with us. Well, we don’t want to break the law anywhere, but it’s not just in Japan. That’s a good point. And there’s more here. This is so cool. But I am a bit scared. This is where we’re going to be resting for the night because tomorrow we’re going to be up and early ready to ski. Baby, as soon as we arrived, we’ve already seen a lot of people, well, a lot of cars in this case with coverings around the window to make sure that the light doesn’t go through. So, I think tonight before sleeping, we need to develop a plan to make sure we basically create a fort. I have so many ideas already. I’ve been thinking about this for the last two weeks. We’ve just finished discussing the plan of action and we’ve come up with the perfect plan. We’re basically going to use our clothes pouches as pillows, towels as blankets. We do have our small blankets as well. And I think I mentioned earlier the um tin foil that we’re going to use. This is our backpack covers which we’re going to use to cover the windows for a little bit of privacy. For this windows here, we’re going to use bin bags that we’ve been carrying for about three months. And then we’ve got one other thing, our ponchos. We’re going to use our ponchos to cover the front of the car as well. What else am I missing? Oh, of course, the bed. For the bed, we’re going to bring down the middle seats and just make it flat. And we decided that our heads are going to go here so that we have more space for our feet, basically, so Max doesn’t have to crouch. [Music] Home sweet home. It’s not It’s not that bad, but this is so hard. It’s not like a tatami or a full. I’m just going to do a quick tour. So, we are missing a covering here, which we’ll do once we go in. We’ve used a bin back for the back. Although, there’s a bit of a gap there, but luckily our heads will be under here. This side is pretty I was about to say pretty solid, but it just fell off. I’d say the front is definitely the best. This is the front. And yeah, right now it’s freezing cold. Can’t see it, but my fingers are about to freeze. If you guys want to see whether or not we survived the night, you have to subscribe to watch the next video. We hope you guys enjoyed our journey. has been long, but you know, a bit of transparency is always good. As always, stop waiting and start living.
We spent a few days homeless in Japan and…
For a week we rented a car and slept in it. Our goal was to go on a road trip in Japan to explore the country better, and it turned out to be one of our best trips ever. This time we drove from Mount Fuji to Nagano, where they have ski slopes, and it was a beautiful road trip.
