Police say they have found a body in a bag that was discovered at a home in Kawasaki City, near Tokyo. They are investigating if it is linked to a woman in her 20s from the city who has been missing since December.
Police say the bag was found at the home of a former boyfriend of the woman on Wednesday. The body was partially reduced to a skeleton.
His whereabouts are not known. Police say there is information that he left Japan in early April.
The woman’s family say she had told people around her that she was being stalked by her former boyfriend, and sought their advice.
Investigative sources say police issued a warning to the former boyfriend several times last year after the woman consulted them.
